- I’ve definitely fallen into the Critical Role hole unfortunately right at the end of the second campaign and I absolutely HAD to make this; the song fit Caleb too well!
This is my first video here, so hello! that "tell me I am good enough" as Caleb walks through the Sanatorium hit me GOOD (this is amazing, thank you!!!!)
Fun fact: the idea for that scene in particular is what finally convinced me to make this! (and thank you so much!!)
@@starrypawprintsart9980 I just found this video and have watched it about a dozen times now and I get chills at this scene EVERY time. Its soooo damn good. This whole video is perfection with mixing the images and lyrics. Favorite CR PMV hands down.
I did the math, the time Caleb spent under the care of Asshole McGee was about three years, from (I may have miscalculated tho) 14 to 17, then the few years in the sanatorium, and then he fled.
Those are the years that set your personality in stone, is what I learned in class. Anyway, I really bought him being in a throuple with Eadwulf and Astrid after that. Teenagers, man. Teenagers.

Astrid simply feels to me like the thing Caleb could've been if he'd gone wrong. Essek feels more like someone who was Astrid but then turned into Caleb. By the way that's what I think not trying to convince no one of anything.

I think they mean at 2:25 where the nein is traveling through the barbed fields on their rides, it’s also the angel of iron (yasha) arc

The art style of this fit so well! It's almost like Caleb's life with the Mighty Nein is a fable or a legend that's passed down through the ages.

Ooooooh this was good!!! "When the war starts in my heart" paired with the forehead kiss was my favorite part!! I loved all the timing, curses has such a great beat and you took excellent advantage of that, especially the "but the smoke clears when you're around" bit
Thank you! When I plan for these sorts of thing in my head, I very much take the beat into account, so much so that usually end up having to tone it back so the editing doesn’t murder me lmao, but I did my best to keep what I could with this one!
Watching this it's pretty insane how many big bads Caleb killed and most of them are large

This was absolutely beautiful. I don't know how you managed to capture Caleb's story in so little time, but damn! You did it! Every frame was drawn with so much love and detail and made me pause the video several times, just to have more time to admire it. I also really loved the little music break drawings. They were really calming after all the angst of Caleb's story.

That last scene is incredibly done, Jester's teleport starting, ikcy-thongs counterspell being met by Caleb's counterspell, creating slight barriers between them and allowing them to teleport safely, and the way it matches the beat perfectly... *chefs kiss* amazing work
I have always loved Crane Wives and the Caleb potential their songs have (although I predictably really love Caleb Trask for him), I am so happy to see this. And ah, your style, the way you've depicted things without breaking it or avoiding it (the jail scene) and the line timing, like especially when the war starts in my heart.... Absolutely fantastic.
I watched this first like, a week after you uploaded it? It was and is still my favorite amv I have ever seen. This band gets used in a lot of Last Life amv's as well, and following the recent Double Life ending I heard one and instantly thought of this because it was my first exposure to this singer. Still lives in my head permanently

oh god oh fuck this is every inch perfection. I was handflapping basically nonstop through this whole thing. Absolutely stunning. The art is SO PRETTY i just want to stare at it for hours, except that would mean pausing the video and then i wouldnt get to appreciate the amazing song choice. This is incredible. The bits with the memories of Caleb's fiends and the bloody footprints hit especially hard. The love of the Nein put him back together but he keeps the fear of becoming what Trent wanted as he walks alone in the dark.

Wow, WOW this is absolutely fantastic. I love people who have come into Campaign 2 at the end because we get full character arc PMVs! This is stunning, and it hits so many of the biggest moments in the campaign, but also some small, incredibly important character moments. Phenomenal work
Thank you so much! It was definitely good to be at least most of the way through the campaign when I started this; and though I definitely missed some major moments at the very end because I started before the campaign was over, I was too happy with the ending to try and add anything lol
@@starrypawprintsart9980 I love the ending! It's to perfect to end with them bamphing out from Trent, and I kind of love that in that sense it doesn't have finality. It's very fitting for the animatic aspect of it. Wouldn't have the same intensity to the end with Trent sitting in jail like the icky-thong he is

I've watched this so many times I'm gonna leave this comment to show how amazing it is haha. I absolutely love everything you did in this and how well it matches Caleb. From the showing of time passing and how you depict each major scene with such gravity, a little akin to what it was like watching the game. Also all the timing of the energetic parts of the song to certain scenes is fabulous. Absolutely love everything here!
Thank you so much!! The vibe was very interesting to work with, I tried to match the pace of the song to the music, especially with the chorus, so I’m glad that paid off! As far as the depictions of certain scenes; when I watch Critical Role, I kinda zone off and mostly just listen, so it ends up as almost a movie that plays in my head as I watch?? So it was really fun to finally translate that into something others can see too!
