Hi coukd u explain what is considered a halfing year?

As of 2023, network participants who validate transactions are awarded 6.25 bitcoins (BTC) for each block successfully mined. So I gave up going out to eat once a week to DCA into BTC. So the advantage of this method is that I accumulate wealth rather than weight.
Getting yelled at by Ben weekly keeps me sane.

I’m down massive from DCAing my ALTs this bear cycle. I’ll be smarter after 2025 thanks to you Ben.
Appreciate this. Went through the same thing in '19. BTC only for me.
However, I tried Ben's free DCA to calculate how much I would get if I DCA during Jan to Dec 2019 (the previous pre-halving year). The result shows that DCA into ETH, ADA, or LINK, outperform DCA into BTC in 2019 at any time point after Dec 2020. Even now, when altcoin market already got rekt hard, DCA into ETH, ADA, or LINK in 2019 still outperform DCA into BTC...
@@urbi9374 I started long before that. Would have had more BTC if I never touched alts. Timing is everything I guess, but I feel safe with BTC not having a leader. More about not getting poor slowly instead of getting rich quick.

I think it would be interesting if you looked at the altcoins that performed well in 2017, and see how they did in 2021. (how many of the top 100 coins in 2017, sat new all time highs in 2021?).

The difference is that alt/btc pairs keep going lower, whereas the trolls keep hoping their alts bounce

Stuff DCA'ing at the moment. For me its all about accumulating cash and watching Ben like a hawk until I'm happy we are out of the bear market. GL everyone, don't go crazy, listen to Benji!
When using your tool and looking at DCAing alts starting Sep 1/19 until May 2020 (closer to our current time frame), BTC actually ranks right in the middle of the pack of 15 coins I compared it with.
From January, definitely makes no sense but using our current timeframe may better show the time to start.
Again using the same timeframe Sep-May 2015-16 BTC ranked 3/4 in returns of the 4 that were around then (I know I need more but you get the jdea).
I'm happy to finally see the bookcase in the background again

December 2010 Low to February 2011 High = Gain of 328454% (%Gain) / 5.3 = 60873 %
November 2011 Low to November 2013 High = Gain of 60873% (%Gain) / 5.3 = 11442 %
January 2015 Low to December 2017 High = Gain of 11442% (%Gain) / 5.3 = 2200 %
December 2018 Low to November 2021 High = Gain of 2200% (%Gain) / 5.3 = 415 %
November 2022 Low to ?????? High = 415% ?
Based on our current 2022 low, This Current Projection puts our next High at, at a $80,150 Top.

Hi Ben, I really appreciate your analysis. I personally think that the main argument favoring DCA into altcoins now is that DCA into altcoin during pre-halving year would eventually outperform "DCA into BTC during pre-halving year" at the market cycle top year. I wonder whether you could calculate DCA into ETH, ADA, DOT, etc. during 2019 (the previous pre-halving year) and how much gain if sold in 2021, then compare it to DCA only into BTC during 2019 and the gain in 2021... I personally feel that the former strategy likely outperformed the pre-halving year BTC only strategy...
I wonder also if he calculate the staking rate to it, e.g. I have a 14% annual return on dot which is making me good money monthly, and according to my calculations the BTC equvilant rate to the dot is always fixed beacuse of the 14% annual return which is 1.3% monthly, I agree with ben cuz math never lies but there is a lot of missing parts here, That was my opininion i could be right and i could be wrong who knows.
This is true, but just like Ben said; first buy BTC in the pre halving year, so your investment goes down less against altcoins. Then just transfer some of that DCA’d BTC to alts, so you have more alt than you would have if you only dca’d alts.
@@Gliigor It sounds too ideal for me... You first have to time the market well in order to transfer BTC to alts at the proper time point. Additionally, you need to pay tax for the BTC to alt conversion event and federal + state tax can easily go beyond 40% on short term gain (I assume you gonna transfer next year, instead of in 2025), which means your BTC to alt strategy must outperform alt now strategy by a lot (like 50% or more, depending now how much you get taxed) in order to reach higher finally profit in 2025...

Dca into bitcoin ok. Play stocks untill a bull run starts worked well in 2020. Usually stocks takes off first

I DCA alts. Simply because i live in Germany and i dont pay Tax After Holding my coins for 1y+. Also I can stake my SOL and SAND for 10+%
You should do a DCA video peak bull market to show how much the major alts gain against BTC.
Ofcourse it’s better to buy and hold BTC during the bear market, but eventually it is more lucrative to hold alts. Timing it is the challenge.

Buying short duration treasuries in 2023 was definitely the move for passive DCA strategy. The risk premium is not worth it at 5+% government issued notes.
