Hey HardDrive Online fans! We had the pleasure of having the band Cold come into Studio V to talk with Paulie Walnuts about their recent album, 'The Things We Can't Stop.'
The band went into detail on the creation of the album, the meaning behind certain songs, and even some crazy band stories throughout the years. Stay tuned, performances from the new album shot in studio will be coming out soon!

I'd also like to add that there couldn't be a better time for
the song "Better human." I've been doing more thinking on my flaws as a person and things I should work on to be a better person so that song really hit home for me.
Sam's story was so funny and seemed so true being I drive a truck for a living. Appreciate that one. Ilmao
One of the most underrated bands for the past 15+ years. They have yet to make an album that I haven’t liked. Fantastic sound,absolutely beautiful lyrics and a lead singer that has one of the most beautiful voices that’s out there today. Keep rocking COLD!!! Still one of the best rock bands out there!!!

I agree with both of these statements. Zack is one hell of a replacement, and you have to give it up to Scooter for sounding seriously close to what he sounded like on 13 ways again.

Sam’s story is the funniest thing I’ve ever heard in awhile. Lol. I’m sure it wasn’t funny when it happened but seriously that made my day. Another sequel to “Home Alone.” “Sam Alone.” 😂
Cold is amazing. We need more albums like the self titled though, however. I could definitely understand why we don't have similar songs, but the self titled was probably one of the best, right below The Year of The Spider.

I got to meet them once a million years ago at on the bricks at Stone Mountain park.
I got to hug scooter and they autographed my wallet and it was one the greatest moments of my life.

They are truly the most uniquely beautiful band in rock and Scooter is a rare and precious talent, vocalist, lyricist and poet of the soul, spirit and heart. Cold are saving lives and enriching lives, as ever and always.

One helluva group, outstanding music. Got all their albums , I’m in agreement with a previous comment the first albums were their best work however a different kind of pain has some good tracks on it. You can’t compete with the original lineup though.

cold did a lot of things right by being in the studio and waiting for the music to be done rather than just putting it out. I believe they love seconds and multi cords they would like to make into a more winter of fall. intel its more stings and tomb...if its a steps next to gravel and mental continues to heavy metal something that only the band members understand intel they can tell the tone in beat with there own words. I know people are smart...people will understand and if they have questions to know what the meaning mean then I think there be happy to explain. it can go a lot of ways...be creative is the root thats growing.
Just need to get this out Cold is and was up there in the late 90s and early 2000 with on par with bands like Korn deftones, and put other rock bands cough staind seether many more to shame puddle of garbage cough. great music that makes u feel something

Ask them why there isnt any heavy songs on the new record. Its all slow songs which is fine but they usually have a few heavier songs on the album's.

Dude this question bothers me. I've been a Cold fan since I was 9... when 13 Ways dropped. Not hating on you or anything but Scooter is 50+ now. They are not young anymore and I can completely understand why they have mellowed out musically. It seemed like Cold were literally bleeding on stage back then. Lots of pain internally. Scooter especially let that pain out on stage and on record. He's probably at peace with himself now and the music is still darker than bands from that scene. I liked the newest album a lot! Way better than Superfiction!! I will never expect them to sound like they did 20 years ago. That's unreasonable. They play what resonates with them now, like what was stated in the interview.

Where are the original band members. The only one I recognized is the drummer and the singer I don’t know who the hell are those other guys especially the girl I’ve never seen her before
The original 2 guitar players left after YOTS. Terry went to Evanescence and replaced Ben Moody there. The bass player stayed until a couple albums later. I was actually shocked when I saw them live the other night and the original drummer walked on stage. This line up is solid though, even on the old stuff. Stuff off of YOTS and ADKOP sounded amazing, especially Remedy. Scooter chose insanely well.

Picking up Nick Coyle was the worst thing Scooter could have done... Nick Coyle is like King Midas in reverse, everything he touches turns to trash and I hope it doesn't end up like that for COLD.
I feel Nick did well with this album. He is a cool dude. I like heavier stuff. I like playing piano. It hit me with the piano with a couple of the songs. I am always into industrial metal and aggro tech.
I really enjoyed this interview. Scooter has always been like a storyteller to me not just a musician or artist
