You should try going into a cabin or something, with windows, closing the door and just letting the ship sink around you, and when it strikes the bottom, you have to escape
The Cape Light is one of the best looking vessels I've ever seen actually. Lots of Olympic-class inspiration in one small liner. Bow, well deck, superstructure, well deck, and stern, just like them. Absolutely beautiful symmetry. And that escape of yours was pretty cool. :D
Honestly, Jesse, I think most people like myself hate it when lights are left off and doors are left open not to exactly SAVE the ship, but to have enough time to have an evacuation and see the ship sink, because that'd be SO cool. Ik it might lag a lot with NPCs so OK, but sometimes we don't even really get to see the ship sink much, luke when you barely escape the interior in time before it plunges, so it's kinda boring. Maybe if the ship was water tight with all doors closed, then OK, open some, but it seems that, though you said only 1 or 2 most of the time, it seems like way more then that to me atleast a lot and the ship sinks fast. Feel free to correct me about all this but it's just my opinion so whatever.
