So sorry, but the time I'd realized, you personally were in the path of Irma, the storm had become larger and more deadly, to a category 5 hurricane. The citizens near the shore line, have better, had moved inland to much higher ground to avoid the storm surge. Here is hoping, it will only be a glancing blow on its passing. You at 200 ft. above sea-level, are still in for one hell of a big blow. Prayers for all.
only few areas have storm surge...remember the island is volcanic and as u go in the land elevation goes up.... but there are many people that live on the cost. the wind is picking up right now...not sure how long i will have electricity :)
What normally is the status for emergency generated electrical power during times of major storms? Do you even have such provisions? By the way, if you've been watching CNN, then you should be aware, the Florida Governor, has set up procedures, for a mandatory evacuation of the Key Islands; especially the City Of Key West. When the big blow has begun, hopefully you won't have to engage in desperate measures, like tying yourself to steel beam to keep from losing your safety. Lord Have Mercy!
