It's often an either or, but I find that you can also decide that you want to have intense eyes and lips, but in that case, you have to go for a very clear, simple rest of your makeup. Minimal blush, minimal contour, just clear skin, and then you can have bold eye and lip.
Aly’s body type series really changed my life. Opened my eyes to my own true beauty that I already have naturally. I’m so much more confident and happier with myself since discovering your videos and learning about Kibbe’s body types theory
As a FG, my go-to look is always lined eyes with an eyeliner pencil (any color), thick lashes on top and bottom, blush on the tops of my cheekbones blending towards the hairline, and penciled in nude lips. My eyes are always the main focal point with my makeup though.
Flamboyant gamine here tips: When i got lip fillers they stood out to much on my face as my lips become to soft and round. Having a sharp upper lip line blends much better with my face, so i make sure i have a sharp cupids bow.
wow I'm the opposite - I always sharply defined my cupid's bow, but tried something different recently - overlining only the center of my top lip, making my cupid's bow almost 'dissapear', I draw almost a half circle.. and it works amazing. My face never looked better
I'm a Flamboyant Gamine and definitely agree that a defined crease is very important. I dare say it is the most important part of my eye-makeup. If I'm feeling quite lazy, I will just put a light brown shade in my crease, some mascara on, and a bright red lip-paint. I use something called "Mod metal", which is quite glossy. My favorite eye makeup basically looks exactly like the following tutorial in regards to the crease: Stevie Nicks Inspired Look: Devyn Crimson Rather than white on the lid, I use a very light pink and of course chosen colors should change depending upon one's coloration. I differ a bit in how I do the eyeliner as well. I go a bit further with my "flick". Basically, I line my upper lash-line in a similar style to Twiggy and I like my "flick" (which follows the eye downward rather than upwards) quite sharp. I don't wear lipstick with this eye-look, but I don't see why one couldn't. I just don't find it necessary. Eyebrows are groomed, but otherwise left alone. As for the face, I like some BB cream and a bit of blush on the apples of my cheeks and on my nose. I don't like an obvious blush though. I think emphasizing the eyes is the most important part of the makeup, followed by keeping a defined cupid's bow-unless of course you don't have a cupid's bow. I think it's more about not blurring the lines of your lips, if that makes sense. Precise shapes, in other words.
FG here. As far as make-up goes, I sometimes feel like I've won the lottery compared to some of my fiends. I can put on whichever crazy, bright colour I want, and that will look amazing on me, as long as I don't blend them too much, and keep the eyelid colour lighter than the crease. Bold colourful eyes+bright lips make me look tired though. A bit of glitter or semi-transparent shimmer on the lid makes my eyes stand out - that plus eyeliner to elongate my eyes a bit - is my everyday look. I've been also told that a slightly overdrawn, blurred bottom lip line in contrast to a sharp upper lip look amazing on me. Always kept my eyebrows on the slightly thicker side, and still look great if I forget to pluck them for a couple of weeks - as long as there's a sharp and defined arc and tail.
adalimina I agree!! I love using crazy bright colours in my makeup or adding some really wild, bold accessories. I feel lucky in that sense because a lot of my friends claim they could never pull off any of those things.
Flamboyant gamine! A tip: try to have fun with your make-up! I do a lot LOT LOT of strange eye-liners, black or colored, heart under my eyes, cherrys on the sides of my eyes etc. Nothing on the lips but something unusal on the eyes! ✨🥰
I am a flamboyant gamine! I find using very bright lips on its own handy. Also, as my eyes are not big at all, I don't tend to have very black eyeliner, blended soft eyeshadow works much better on the bottom of my eyes, it opens my eye.
As a FG, I like to wear a light color on my lids with black lined lids and filled in brows, but not super thick or dark. My lips are full and the color I use is a fuschia/purplish color. Hard to explain, but have been using it for years and ALWAYS get compliments on it. It is Revlon Wild Orchid. No contouring ever.
As a flamboyant gamine, this is ironically very similar to the style of makeup I usually wear. I love the 1960s flair and how it compliments my features 😊 This video felt very validating to me and I love this look!
Hey Aly! I have two requests. 1. Could you do a video explaining how the Kibbe types look underweight/overweight? Where fat tends to be missing from/in excess? 2. What shades of red (as in hair color) look best on the skin tones? I believe I’m either a cool winter or maybe a cool summer, so I think red hair is tricky for me. But I LOVE red hair and want to be able to dye it.
FG tip: spend as much time on your eyebrows as on your eye. If not more. I usually use the same matte blush on my cheeks and just hint the same into my eyelids. Then a black eyeliner and you are done. It’s pretty much my go to for years.
I'm flamboyant gamine! So excited for this video! I wear a lot of bold colours and metallic/sparkle eyeshadow, and I never use a strong liner... but I do feel like more is more with a FG! I'll definitely try a few of these more classic looks out though. Thanks Aly!
I am flamboyant gamine. I used to do big heavy eyes with elaborate colours and bright lips. I got complimented on having big eyes. Wearing such a mask of makeup over the years made me feel insecure and have low self esteem and i also wanted to step away from toxic makeup. Now, age 35, my eyes have become slightly droopy and I don't want to wear any makeup on skin- foundation, powder, blush etc. I fill in my brows and I have some non toxic eyeshadows, eyeliners and mascaras...but the problem is that when I put any eye makeup on-heavy or light- my eyes look tired and droopy. I used to be such a makeup pro, but now I end up looking worse when I apply it so most days I go makeup free, but when it comes to an occasion I just don't know what to do anymore!
I totally relate, I have a similar issue - I used to enjoy (and suit) heavy eyeshadow and eyeliner, plus bright lips, yet now (about to turn 32) I can never seem to nail my eye colour or application and whatever I do I look a bit droopy and tired... I have been going for minimal makeup instead but just don't look as good =/ It definitely sucks.
One morning, I forgot to brush my short hair and went to school with it all tousled. I got a lot of compliments on how good it looked on me and I wondered why. Now I know it's because I'm a FG and why it looked so good on me, lol! 😆 I guess that's one plus of being a FG 😂
I'm an FG but too lazy to spend more than 3 mins on my make up. Usually, I can do with bright lipstick and thick eyelashes. Works well. I'm a Bright Winter colorwise. Thanks Aly for the vid, I'll definitely use some of the tips!
I'm not an autumn color palette, but a bright spring, so instead of a smoky eye, I add depth and focus to my eyes in different ways, as smoky eyes make me look tired. I like to use a very bold color to accent my eyelids either as eyeshadow or as eyeliner. A turquoise eyeliner or accent on the outside (or even inside) of the eye looks amazing!

amazing. thought I was SC and redid test I am FG and this makeup made me look completely better. I love all your makeup vids too. Very fresh and great techniques I don’t often hear of
I just recently realized I’m an FG. When I was in beauty school, my classmates had so much fun using me as a canvas for makeup, hair colors, etc. that would look weird on other kibbe types. I’ve also been drawn to that untidy smoky eye, crisp thick liner , and nearly nude lip. Or heavy mascara and a bright lip. Always matte skin and blush on top of cheekbones. Never could pull off the glamorous or shimmery, very dewy looks. It all makes sense now
I'm a flamboyant gamine. My makeup is normally low-maintenance. I use a brow pencil to better define my brows, which are naturally very arched. I put black liner on the top lids only and apply mascara to the top lashes only. I then apply blush and usually a nude matte lip color. I don't wear eyeshadow, though I do apply pressed powder to my lids to set my concealer and to provide a dry surface for the eyeliner.
I am flamboyant gamine and I personally hate this kind of makeup on me, maybe because of my fair type of colouration. Hope you could give me some advice how to bring some flamboyant makeup tips in my daily routine if I feel too heavy with eyeliner and thick eyelashes
Maybe you could repeat It with lighter colors. I'm soft natural and I have very high contrast so I try to follow the techniques with darker and very contrastant colors ;)
Place a color that closely matches your skin all over the lids. Emphasize the crease with a color that is a bit darker than your skin. Place that color below the bottom lash-line and smudge a bit so that it's not too noticeable. Add some mascara on the top and bottom lashes. You can leave your lips bare or wear a lipstick/lipgloss/etc. This is a much lighter type of makeup, but it still emphasizes the crease which I find to be very important.
I am a flamboyant gamine. I usually do makeup just like you showed for many years. I think light lips only suit when its orangy or peach color almost like its natural lip color look. Otherwise a lighter shade of any other color just dont work, like light browns and light pink doesnt suit at all coz it looks simply dull. The eyes look great with another trick. A double lid look. Also the more dark and long and thick the outer corners are, the best. I have noticed that flamboyant gamine noses are smallish, narrow and quite high ridged, specially in between both eyes. Also i have seen that if i put a little blush and make the tip of nose a bit pink it looks very sharp and the overall looks just becomes brighter. oh and a little shine on the tip of nose also is good. and i have notices that if i put dark creamy matt ful lipstick and then dap a little bit of it from lips to the outer crease of your eyes above the lid, it brightens up the whole look and makes you look electric and animated.
I do my makeup just as you showed here! I always make sure I have a sharp cupid's bow or draw all around the bow. I overdraw slightly just the cupid's bow.
Aly, thank you so much! 😭 I didn't knew a thing about clothing or make up... After discovering your channel and learning I'm seeing myself a bit good-looking! 🥺 You're like some type of virtual fairy godmother, you know? 💖💖💖

Yay! New examples of celebrity pictures! I am a flamboyant gamine, that barely wears makeup. If I put a bit more makeup than I usually would do I feel like I look vulgar. Even with the IG filters with some strong, kinda drag queen look, I look very off. I expect as an FG that it's gonna work, but it doesn't. But bright lipstick is a solution for me
any tips for big prominent eyes? I usually never put dark shade on my crease to avoid my eyes looking more prominent, just liner mascara and darker shade at the outer corner of my eyes is more than enough.
we soft gamines are always last. Aly, maybe add some bonus tips or looks for us since we have to wait so long ;) esp coming from a soft gamine like you it'll be worth so much! love u
I absolutely love your videos! I watch them over and over. Would you mind posting which 4 matte e/s colors you use in this Flamboyant Gamine makeup video please? Thank you!
It's possible to have smaller eyes as any gamine, as it can be your Yang feature. But if you can't pull of heavier makeup I doubt you're a FG, maybe soft gamine or gamine? Teathrical romantic, soft natural?
beebikinis thanks for responding, I’ve thought maybe I’m not FG but I don’t have too many yin features, most of the softness in me comes from the face, except for the eyes, I also have really long arms and and legs, hands and feet closer to the bigger and broader side compared to my body which I can identify with FG I believe

Hi Aly. Im a soft classic in my early 20s. I want to cut my hair short, approximately between shoulder and ear or a pixie cut. Do you have any tips for me? I don't really know what I want, and looking for options that enhance my features. Have a nice day!
So my skeleton and my facial bones say Gamine, but my 'body flesh' and facial features say Dramatic classic. I have an equal amount of A, C and D-answers. No B and E-answers. What am I?
Im a FG & you’ve basically just copied exactly how I do my hair & makeup, which I’ve been doing before I even knew what my body type classification was!
How do you do your lashes thick, if you’ve naturally super long lashes. If I just use a normal coat of mascara my lashes will clump together in huge spider lashes. How do I avoid this?
omg i wish i was flamboyant gamine sooooo bad!!! im soft classic and its just SO hard not to look bad. everything has to be neat and perfect otherwise my look is ruined. i feel cursed.
As a flamboyant gamine, I always thought classics had it easy. If I just wear a jeans and a t-shirt, I look boring. It's hard to find clothing interesting enough or prints that are animated enough and I have to pile on accessories to match the asymmetry in my lines. Interesting to hear about the challenges of being a classic though!
@@angelacuria3357 yeah it seems easy but the challenge with classics is that jeans and tshirt is ok as long as the jeans are as simple as possible (kinda hard to find imo) and the shirt is the PERFECT fit, size, shape, fabric. otheriwse i look unkept. it sucks. i wish i was flamboyant gamine and just throw on anything in my closet and look good. i feel boring because most of my clothes are not for my type (either wrong fabric, print, or color, or all of that) so there are like 3 options that i know for a fact look good and not sloppy or busy on me.
@@iasminfreiredurval549 I've been thinking about your comment a lot during the past couple of weeks and paying attention to how I dress. From the time I was a little girl up until today, I've always gotten articles of clothing as either hand-me-downs or gifts that were often kind of out there or didn't seem to go together. Somehow, I've always been able to wear these pieces together without looking too weird. When I emulated girls who are classics, the extra yang in my bone structure came out and I remember thinking I looked "masculine". Anyway, it's funny that I now know that I am able to combine contrasting lines because it mirrors the lines in my body. I have to say that the biggest take away from these videos is that every type is beautiful in its own way!!

And luma groth please
Which category
Thank you
But bright lipstick is a solution for me
Theatrical romantic must be the next one!!! ... Please Aly pleeeeeease
any tips for big prominent eyes? I usually never put dark shade on my crease to avoid my eyes looking more prominent, just liner mascara and darker shade at the outer corner of my eyes is more than enough.
Can you do soft classic next?! :D
I just stumbled upon your channel. Do you do personal consultations? I’m on the fence as to what type of gamine I am...
Could you also try to include asian examples perhaps?
we soft gamines are always last. Aly, maybe add some bonus tips or looks for us since we have to wait so long ;) esp coming from a soft gamine like you it'll be worth so much! love u
Thank you Aly.. you are a great artist.. love you
I absolutely love your videos! I watch them over and over. Would you mind posting which 4 matte e/s colors you use in this Flamboyant Gamine makeup video please? Thank you!
Very nice and good show of eyeliner for FG. Essential for us imo
I seem to be every kind of gamine! 😊
I finally figured out my type. Def FG. Now to learn
Thank you, I looked forward to it.
Thank you!!!! Thank you so much, I'll try next weekend!
Thank you so much!!! Amazing video
Well worth waiting for...thank you.
I'm FG but I look awful in dramatic vivid makeup. The reason? I'm ugly! Lol
How do we do this except we had asian hooded eyes
Will you touch on lip gloss when you are making your soft gamine video? I don't know if we can pull it out, or is it more about our undertone?
Your Hair Colour and Style are Beautiful in this Video x
Can you do a tr vs fg video
Hello! i cannot find soft natural body type make up! and I think there are repeated videos! thank you!

is it possible to be flamboyant gamine and have small eyes? I think I’m FG but any kind of bold makeup looks too heavy on my face
Hi I know this is a year old lmao but did you ever figure out what you were?
Make up for Theatrical Romantic, please

What about blush and shimmer on cheeks ?
Wow aly
Please do us a no make makeup plzzzzz

Hi Aly. Im a soft classic in my early 20s. I want to cut my hair short, approximately between shoulder and ear or a pixie cut. Do you have any tips for me? I don't really know what I want, and looking for options that enhance my features. Have a nice day!
Waiting for theatrical romantic
Fg, try neon eye- liner :)
Soft classic makeup!!!!!! Couldn't wait anymore... 😢😢😢
So my skeleton and my facial bones say Gamine, but my 'body flesh' and facial features say Dramatic classic. I have an equal amount of A, C and D-answers. No B and E-answers. What am I?
I'm 5.6 so am i a flamboyant gamine?
Please soft gamine next💖💖💖
Im a FG & you’ve basically just copied exactly how I do my hair & makeup, which I’ve been doing before I even knew what my body type classification was!
Amazing video 👌😎👏
Thank you so much
Just curious- does anybody know what type CHARLOTTE TILBURY is? (I can't figure her out)
I found it hard to find some full body picture of her that was not posed or edited. But shes a natural. I think a soft subtype.
schneeroseful, I can kind of see that, thanks.
I think she's FG! Rocker hair and dark eyes look great on her.
@Thea Garam, makes sense. Yes, Charlotte knows how to make the most of herself!
Fantastic!
Thank you so much! And thanks for your support :))) Happy to see you here!
How do you do your lashes thick, if you’ve naturally super long lashes. If I just use a normal coat of mascara my lashes will clump together in huge spider lashes. How do I avoid this?
But clumpy lashes looks so good on FG as far as I know
I let my mascara dry out some. When it's brand new and too "liquidy" my lashes clump too much too.
Huh,I think I'm this one. I like my eyebrows better when they're straight
What about skinny girls but they have chubby face ( cheeks ) 😒 we need some attention
Which body type? Rules are different between types.

I'm a soft gamine, but I despise those looks and I feel more connected to the flamboyant style
I'm waiting for soft classic :( great video as always!
I resently realized I'm Flamboyant Gamine despite being tall......
I love
moi.
When i watch this and see older women as examples, i see my mom :) i guess we're the same
omg i wish i was flamboyant gamine sooooo bad!!! im soft classic and its just SO hard not to look bad. everything has to be neat and perfect otherwise my look is ruined. i feel cursed.
@@angelacuria3357 yeah, agreed!!
