You know what I like about this drama besides Zhao Lusi? The fact that she didn’t have to enter the Imperial College pretending to be a boy but rather her own skill. I like that. We have seen so many versions of the same story but with the girl pretending to be a boy so this is refreshing. The male lead is also very handsome lol

I think you are right, it wasn’t until my fourth watch that I paid close attention to his facial expressions and noticed that for starters he really looked at her from top to bottom in first meeting. His comment to his friend about her being better in person than rumored, and every time he looked at her when she wasn’t looking, he would smile. I now do think he was attracted and intrigued by her boldness and spunky personality. That is probably why he never admitted as to “when exactly” he fell for her. He’s a little proud. Nothing like Ling Buyi ❤ (if you get my LLTG cdrama reference 😉)
She is such a badass actress. Stands straight up, shoulders back, head up, never backs down from anything, lets you know she is there, shoots straight from the hip, tells you the truth, doesn't really care if she offends you and delivers her lines so dramatically. This is now one of my top CDramas! It has the fun, the feels, and fantastic cast. The chemistry between Lusi and XuCaicheng is just explosive! Can't get over this drama. And looking at the BTS, they had fun filming especially Ao Shoning (YanYan), XuCai and Lusi.

Just finished the series. It's beautiful 😍 out of all the Chinese dramas I've watched, this is the most fulfilling one. In the first 20 episodes, I was laughing like crazy. The casting is amazing. Both the hero and the villain are hot, so you get enough eye candy 😝 It's a happy ending, but it got some intriguing twists and turns to some characters on the first few episodes. I must say, it's worth watching. Lightens your heart.

WOW this drama is very refreshing. Female lead is actually not an airhead w/ the intelligence of a walnut! She's smart, strong, independent and HAS COMMON SENSE. Plus double WOW to this drama for including another chinese DIALECT. ALL the chinese dramas I've seen so far (Ancient dramas or modern), EVERYONE speaks standard Mandarin! Love it! EDIT: Nvm, I remembered another Chinese drama that includes another dialect (Mongolian), its Huan Zhu Ge Ge (Princess of the returning pearl). A classic chinese drama!

WOW this drama is very refreshing. Female lead is actually not an airhead w/ the intelligence of a walnut! She's smart, strong, independent and HAS COMMON SENSE.
Plus double WOW to this drama for including another chinese DIALECT. ALL the chinese dramas I've seen so far (Ancient dramas or modern), EVERYONE speaks standard Mandarin! Love it!
EDIT: Nvm, I remembered another Chinese drama that includes another dialect (Mongolian), its Huan Zhu Ge Ge (Princess of the returning pearl). A classic chinese drama!
