Interesting to see so many English word used in the Egyptian dialect, like my best friends, perfume, sweatshirt, jacket, baby. How are these English words perceived by Egyptians, how common are they? Would be interesting if a native speaker would elaborate a little bit on this topic.
I'm not a native speaker, but I can help. People want to show in their speech that they know English, for social status, that's why they intentionally use English in their speech, even when you have proper Arabic alternatives like "my friends". Hope this helps. -Tim
The term that the kid used, 3gabatni warda 3adi, is it a common term that means nothing expansive/spcial?
"Warda" means a flower so he is saying that he's okay with receiving anything even if it's something he doesn't like a lot like a flower
