Hopefully with a few more items of maintenance we can move this one out the door and into the woods. For now, I don't seem to have the time to make'em pretty. The mechanical end is more important to me. That MAY change one of these days though. Thanks for stopping in for a visit today !!
Wow! Makes me want to tackle this project except I don’t have it to work on! Soooooooo, I recon I’ll just have to be satisfied by the video and do lots of drippin, tippin and sippin in the morning your way! Now in my dreams tonight I suppose I’ll be making gaskets and putting them on everything whether it needs it or not! With this activity upon awakening inna mornin, I’ll be needin extra JO which means lots more tippin and sippin your way since all this TM44 video activity goin on makes me expend far more energy in both the sleep, awake and state of Pennsylvania. That said makes me want a little snack before I retire to my pillows of dreamdom heer inna holler. So with all this non cents I really must hang up me jeans, dress in the latest holler mattress attire, tell meself some stupid story to lull me into the sugar plum madness so often written about and say, have a Lovely evening with Squeezen Pkeezez! This heer is DaveyJO an I’m outta my mind! 🤪🤪🤪☕️☕️☕️☕️🚜🚜🚜🚜🐓🐓🐓🐓👍👍👍👍
Well dadgum DaveyJO...maybe you shoulda bought that old Oliver 77 you spotted back a few years ago !! I saw a few emails I gotta get to the other day from a fella up your way that looks and sounds just like you....wait a minute, it WAS you. Don't worry I'll get to it soon. This week has been shed building week at the daughters house. Time and energy are both a bit short as a result !! See ya, ol' buddy and I'll be up bright and early playing catch up again in the morning. Have a relaxing evening my friend !!
Thanks Leonard for the kind words. This was going to have to be cut out of the much longer video about the first real start and checkout. I don't like to draw the videos out so long. I'd rather make a few short ones to keep from boring everyone.
Hey Terry, good afternoon my friend. Yessir, it IS just another day in the shop !! Btw, I have a fellow showing interest in a few tractors. If he falls through the cracks do you think you might be interested in one of 'em....or four. LOL. Maybe even some parts tractors too. Thanks for the visit today.
@@tractorman4461 I doubt if my wife will let me buy another tractor. She's told me on the last few, that no more tractors....I'll have to make a trip up there to get you those Ford 2000 decals.
Thanks Jerry. This is the first chance I got to work on this one even though it came to live here probably 3 years ago. I lose track sometimes. Thanks for the visit.
I got off onto another project at me daughters that couldn't wait so I'm still not done with the little problems on this guy yet. I'm hoping the hydraulics are at least down to a dribble on it though. (-;
Great tip and video! Though i don't know any Massey Harris 44 tractors in Estonia, still it was interesting to watch. Btw, my old soviet tractor from 1953, have hydraulic system that's entirely closed system without whatever rubber seals. All components is inside one closed body. Oil pump and even hydraulic cylinder have metal piston rings. Sure there is a lot of leaks even if it was new. Because all components are inside closed compartment all leaks drips back into oil bath so there is no oli loss at all. That tractor have only three point lifter at back no other hydraulic options and can lift 400 kg (880 pounds).
Well, now that's a built in fix for a unit with no gaskets !! Wow, that is something I did not know anything at all about. There isn't a day that passes without me learning something new from viewers like you.
Very good job buddy that’s exactly the way I would have done it lol I could have helped you lift it up on the tractor that’s about it for you guys have a great weekend take care
Hahahaha...that's funny Tom. Hey, I fired up the scooter the other day. Battery is toast though so I had to jump it. I was surprised too because its sat since 2019. The plates a little expired I guess.
Good for you will have to take it for a little scoot I have been doing a little biking just short little trips Gail still is working so we only have the weekends and nine grandkids if one isn’t wanting to come to Papa and Gigii’s the other one is and that’s awesome they growing up to fast I have been thinking maybe I should sell the gold wing and trailer it’s getting a little heavy for me especially when we are two up it’s about 1000 lbs with out us on it I wished I had of had that bike twenty years ago when I was younger it is a great bike and lots of power handles like a dream on the highway but a bit heavy in town and the old shadow works just as good as the day I got it and I would never sell it maybe it’s time for a Spyder for this old guy did I ever tell you that I like to talk lol have a great day buddy hope you guys are doing well good to hear from you take care
Good thinking on that fix 44, our fair is coming up next month and there is a guy that pulls a MH 44 that I will try to get a video of, if he doesn't win he is always up front!!!
I tell ya, with a little work, these old 44's can show really well at the pulls. Their rear ends are know for such reliability that many of the first and second generation hot rod tractor builders used them.
I don't know specifically, but I'd get the model AND serial number from the tag and also the engine manufacturer. Then google that specific engine model number for a rebuild kit. You need the serial # because often the manufacturers make improvements on this or that during production so those changes are tied to the serial number. Engine rebuild kits vary from site to site, so make sure you know ALL the parts you want to have included and make sure the kit you select has them. Don't forget a complete gasket set if you are doing a total rebuild. Another suggestion is to buy an actual service manual on that engine because then all your torque specs and tons of details will be right there for you. Good Luck my friend !! I usually don't get to work on new stuff like yours.
That one is an Ingersol Rand 7 1/2 hp two stage 80 gallon tank. The other shop has a 5 hp two stage Husky, 80 gallon. Here's the serious one for sandblasting: ua-cam.com/video/VXuEXSUPPTU/v-deo.html
Unnecessarily disassembling the whole assembly has the potential for creating even more work...and I KNOW you know what I mean. Thanks for watching Randall, I'm still playing catch up.
I hated to cut all this out of the startup video but I didn't want an extremely looong start up vid either. So this is 'bonus' footage. LOL Yeah, right huh. (-;
Excellent repair. I admire old equipment restored to working order.

I like it. In addition to the vacuum add grease to the drill and tap that captures alot of the shavings. Great video.
Good idea !! I never thought of grease. Thanks for the tip. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do to keep shavings out of the hydraulics for sure !!
I like the modification Wendell 😎👍 Adapt and overcome 🔧
Good Morning Zane....yessir, whatever it takes, no matter how small the job is.
Very smart way to do it. Necessity is the mother of invention…..CHEERS
Words more true have yet to be spoken Gator !! Thanks for watching mon ami.

Hey, Wendell, just another day in the shop. Nice job on the repair.

Well, one thing about it, if it doesn't work I'll do something else !! Thanks Rick for the visit buddy.

I was wondering what you had done about the leak. Thank you Wendell.
I still ain't done with ironing out the carb issues and other details Bryce. But at least the hydraulics SHOULD be taken care of. I hope anyway. LOL
What a great hack, Wendell !

Good one T man. Whatever works.
Heck yeah man, sometimes a fella's just gotta think outside the box...and drill a hole in it too. (-:
Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do that it works is what matters.
Yessir, those words are very truly spoken. Nothing I could do would possibly make it leak worse !!

Hi. I have a 1977 Ford 1600 Tractor with a 1.8 L diesel. Was wondering if there is an engine rebuild kit for it and where I can find one. Thanks.
I don't know specifically, but I'd get the model AND serial number from the tag and also the engine manufacturer. Then google that specific engine model number for a rebuild kit. What kind of air compressor do you use in your shop ?

If you had not come up with the idea of drilling that hole, what do you think you would have done? Just curious!
The only logical answer to me was total disassembly, where I'm sure the spring loaded valve would compress from the opposite end during reassembly.
Some folks are always harping about Do It Right? Not a thing wrong with the modification you made to get the job done.
Unnecessarily disassembling the whole assembly has the potential for creating even more work...and I KNOW you know what I mean. Thanks for watching Randall, I'm still playing catch up.
