Health inequities in the US account for over $320B annually in excess healthcare system costs. The productivity loss for individuals, families, and society is vast. Solving for health-related social needs and other systemic causes requires novel approaches to multi-sectoral coordination and healthcare financing.
During this panel style discussion, expert interprofessional faculty will explore pressing health equity challenges and opportunities ranging from an evolving payment policy landscape, shifting workforce dynamics, and innovations in system design to centering the patient experience and community expertise in shared governance structures.
This session will also spotlight critical health equity leadership skills such as how to clarify the value proposition, anticipate and manage resistance, define success, and have critical conversations about the root causes of persistent healthcare disparities. This learning opportunity will be highly relevant for healthcare professionals and others with an interest in advancing equity in health and social care.
