Hi Ang S, I suggest you to learn the pattern on a small sample first. You may work just two repeats. Make a f.c. of about 37 chs, and then work the two-row pattern. You may upload a picture of your work, so I could see where your chs are. Happy crochet!

yogini vadgama you need a group of chain repeat to achieve a pattern. plus chains are used to create the edges to both sides of the front where you can sew the buttons.
yogini vadgama this pattern needs a group of 16 chains to create the arches +five chain to get the front edge. you can use this guide to make different sizes example I want to make it for 6 month baby I can do 64 + 5 which is 16×4
