    you answered my biggest question in less than 3 minutes of your video. i was confused why my website kept failing when i put the database containers on the bottom... now... i know. thank you for all your amazing videos. without you i wouldn't have 1/2 of my docker containers.

    Hi Ibracorp - nice video. You missed one important tip for dockers and that is docker log management. Go to settings > docker > enable to no. Scroll down and you'll see the log management and log rotation configuration details. This is one of the common causes of the docker image file being bloated.

    Do you know about VLANs? If so, can you show how to reconcile VLANs and Docker?

    Just wanted to say thanks for all of your videos. Unraid can be pretty complex for a new user, and some of the older documentation can be slightly out of date which makes older videos and guides hard to follow. Your videos have been super useful!

    for extra parameters I find restart policy is useful ex --restart always
    potential good video idea would be pulling a docker image direct from docker hub

    Great video! I didn't know at least half of those tips. Thank you! I have an idea for a video that would definitely help me out and I'm sure of a lot of Unraid newbs like me. I've been looking for an easy way to create databases (Mariadb, mysql, postgres11, etc) with a GUI, without diving into the terminal/console. I did find a few dockers that might do what I'm looking for, but I'm sure you already know what is best. Either way, thank you for the videos!! Cheers

    To delete files left over from Radarr/Sonarr you can use a user script and run this command "rm -r PATH TO WHERE YOUR FILES DOWNLOAD TO/*" and set it to delete on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. It will delete all files in the folder where you have Radarr/ Sonarr mapped to. Very useful so you don't have to do it manually.

    Thank you! I really wish someone would make a video specifically on custom docker networks and how you port forward to a custom network. I’ve spent way to many hours trying to get bitwarden or any other docker container to go from my lan to my wan and how exactly do you set up port forward rules for that. everything I do on cloud flare sends me to my UnRaid page and not the subdomain or the docker container I’m trying to target. I’ve tried swag and Nginx proxy manger all of them send me to UnRaid home page or I get a 502, 525 etc. thank you for any insight here, space invader tells you what to do but not why or dives in deep enough for one to fully understand.

    To restart containers on a schedule you can create a user script and type in this command "docker restart container name" and set it for when you want it to restart. its useful if you want a certain container to restart on a schedule.

    I have multiple ARR containers with different names but when setting prowlarr and adding hostnames to it the hostname only works for the original container, say "sonarr" but prowlarr can't connect to "sonarr2" only by ip address. Any ideas?

    Ibracorp, Does "Custom Docker Network" confer any extra security? Like if you have Nginx-NPM running... and you have PLEX reverse proxied... do you need to use a custom docker network? I keep Plex in Host mode, instead of a custom docker network. Is this less secure?

    • @IBRACORP
      @IBRACORP  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Michael! No it's not less secure in that respect. Plex has to be in host mode for it to work correctly and it's already an exposed service since authentication is through their servers.
      However, a custom network will allow the containers to speak to one another using their names (easier to program) and will allow you assign seperate IP addresses. So in that respect in can be a bit more secure

  • @bennoonan295

    I have successfully been able to create my own custom network but moving some containers to it results in loss of port mapping e.g. Plex, Deluge (from Host) is there something I am missing to be able to do this?

    • @IBRACORP
      @IBRACORP  3 роки тому

      Hi Ben it still bridges the ports across so this should not be an issue. One thing to keep in mine though is in Plex settings you can add your local subnet otherwise it will see anything outside of the Docker network as 'remote'

    • @bennoonan295
      @bennoonan295 3 роки тому

      @@IBRACORP Thanks for the response, I do mean though the container becomes unreachable like there is no IP address and therefor unusable. I am aware of the local address and have left it blank but I will check if I need to make changes to that prior to making the change again
