In the GoAnimate community, it is easy to demote students to a lower grade. The term "held back" actually means staying on the same grade after the school year has completed. The term "demote" means put someone to a lower level. In this case, Rookie and Popple got demoted 13 times, and finally got expelled. In addition, anyone with authority (even classroom teachers) can demote a student for any reason. It is like the idea of "guilty until proven innocent". In real life however, the student cannot be demoted regardless. Getting "held back" exists if a student fails at least one subject without appeals, but cannot be held back more than a certain amount of times. Schools cannot retain a student the same grade until there is proof that the student had failing grades and excessive absences to catch up on learning process. When Rookie and Popple get expelled from school, the principal / teacher said all of that as empty threats, and they decided to re-admit them to school, and reset them to 12th grade.

12th grade: Forgot to do their homework
11th grade: brought wine to school
10th grade: used their phones to be at school
9th grade: chewing gum while in math class
8th grade: got black cards and held back to 7th grade
7th grade: used profanity and disrespected the movie
6th grade: pushed the kids down the stairs
5th grade: had a food fight and caused it
4th grade: brought soda to school
3rd grade: got the math answer wrong
2nd grade: dancing like idiots on the desks
1st grade: escaped from elementary school and tried to go back to high school
Kindergarten: ate all the cookies and drank all the milk
Preschool: threw a dancing mental breakdown

There were lockers when I was in 5th grade, but I was supposed to be in middle school in 2016, but I failed Kindergarten, & that’s why I get a locker in 5th grade even if I was in elementary school I was 11 when I had a locker so I can pretend I was in middle school in 2016.
