I have over 600 picture books and I constantly buy new ones. Every now and then I go through my collection to make space for new ones, but the Tiger Who Came to Tea will stay. That's my favourite book and illustrations of Judith Kerr. We do have few of the Mog books too. She really understood how to write for little children. We are lucky that she managed to escape Germany all those years ago.

Judith Kerr, like many other legendary children's authors, may be gone but her work will live on. RIP and sleep well, Judith. Sad to hear of your passing but what a legacy.

Judith Kerr's illustrated books continue to delight children everywhere. She inspired me to write and illustrate too.

I wasn't familiar with the Mogg stories until that Christmas advert from a few years ago, the best for donkey's years. I know this isn't trendy to mention a man, but she was married to the father of television science fiction and indeed of original drama on TV, the great Nigel Kneale. If that were not enough, their son is a prize-winning writer and their daughter a successful illustrator, who I believe has worked in films, so what a talented family. In interviews about Quatermass, he is invariably accompanied by Judith, who always comes over as a very nice lady, unlike some authors who are legends in their own lunchtime. Gorblesser!
