I was sad about the Tigers until I saw the train wreck Dodgers Padres game.

Every time Skubal is on the mound it’s a must win game with our strategy. If we let him down, I don’t see how we win in the postseason.
Hard agree with the take on Tyler Holton starting, this is the same thing people do when the lions go for it on fourth and don’t make it, like that’s who we are man!

Yeah man I don’t know about this.. This is a really bad matchup for the Tigers. Cleveland is a very similar team - Their pitchers are also insane, maybe even a little better. But the main difference is that the Guards hit way better than the Tigers do. That combined with their insane pitchers, this is probably the worst matchup the Tigers probably could have had considering their offense is struggling. Cleveland has also had the Tigers number for a while now, they’re just one of those teams that just seems to know how to beat them. I think they have a better chance against the Yankees lol. I love what the Tigers have been able to do, I’m absolutely ecstatic they made the playoffs and that they turned their season around. But their season will be unceremoniously over if they don’t somehow make major adjustments, because that’s what good teams are able to do, and you need runs to win the game. Let’s see if they can turn it around. I’m certainly rooting for them and am still proud of them! Let’s see if they can come back! 💪 🐅

Not surprised at all. They’ve been awaiting that game for a week and we just came off our biggest win in a decade. Prime spot for a clunker. I still like our chances though. Skoobie wins tmw and we win one at home then we got Skubal for game 5. I’ll take that all day everyday. Go Tigers. 🙏
Really odd things can happen, but, yep - having a comeback in the 8th or 9th against this bullpen would be extremely surprising. Let's just hope the offense shows up today. We get behind early and don't score runs early....not good.

If Skubal wins, you split and go home tied. That’s a win in my book. Then…win a game at home and have Skubal go again in game five.
I highly doubt he pitches game 5. Not enough rest and if they have a chance to move on he's game#1 of next series. Picking isn't the issue. The bats going to sleep is. They weren't even trying to just get the scrappy hits they normally try for. All home swings.
Or just win the next 3 and not worry about a game 5🤷🏻♂️

@@traviscoates6878They don't count the days pitched as a rest day, so even though the start of the scheduled game on Saturday is almost exactly 5 days from the start today, it's still considered 4 days rest (off days). Even so, Skubal will start game 5 if necessary.

It looked to me like the whole lineup was playing hero ball. You don't need to hit every ball 450'. Especially with 2 strikes.....cut the swing down and level it out and just try to hit a line drive. Way too many big swings.
McKinstry whiffing is reason Holton looked bad. Even if McKinstry gets in front of ball and stops it. Does Cleveland score 5. Probably not. Plus there were grind balls just out of the defense reach. Can't blame that on pitcher. This is a case veteran players would of been nice. That being said it happened now they're numb to it. It doesn't happen again. Watch it Cleveland the Tigers are awake. Oh by the way Boyd gives up runs and homers. So today's game might be a bizarro game. Go Tigers!

Skubal wins today its advantage Tigers just like that. Game one proved the Tigers would be better off had they signed a free agent bat like Mark Chapman who would have made that play look routine that Zach butchered. We are seeing the beginning of Trey Sweeney exposed. Hes 2 for 27. Baez and Sweeney are almost equal defensively, Sweeney more steady Baez making the great play more. Slight edge Sweeney- steady is good . Offensively- also a slight edge to Sweeney. Baez batted 300 with RISP. Sweeney an improvement over Baez but not the answer longterm- Im certain of that.
Your certain after 40 games? Let's pump the brakes. He doesn't need to be Francisco Lindor. Comparing him baez is pretty ridiculous. This was the worst shortstop in the majors vs Sweeney who was an above average player in his first 40 games. That's actually quite hard to do no matter how high of a prospect you are.

In the past “30 days” Carpenter has 10 Ks in 51 ABs (a 20% K rate) while producing a .294 BA, .339 OBP, .627 SLG and a .966 OPS! I am one of your “everydayers” you regularly thank for listening so I’ll be watching to see if you have the humility to acknowledge you were incorrect with your criticisms of Kerry. Yes, on a below MLB average rate Carp does K, but to focus on this fact is, to me, misleading to your viewership. If not, I look forward to hearing your criticisms of Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle and Reggie Jackson’s K rates in the near future.
