Hi Amrita, Thank you for this wonderful video. You make a fantastic point in the end its vital to be fluent in a dance language but really it is the purpose of what you are trying to "say" or communicate that ultimately matters - beyond genre, style or medium.
True artistry that moves audiences is how creatively you are able to translate ideas or concepts into engaging performance.
Your channel is soooo UNDERRATED you should totally have so many more subscribers!

So, I am a Bharatnatyam dancer....so I started learning Bharatnatyam since the age of 6.....I really love the dance and I figured out that Bharatnatyam is basically straight lines and on the other hand Kuchipudi is straight lines and curves....thank u for the infos
Bharatanatyam has had occasional male dancers as well. Staunch devotees of Nataraja learnt the dance form to perform in front of shaiva temples. A well known example is King Raja Raja Cholan.
Bharatanatyam was originally performed by Lord Shiva himself in the golden hall of Chidambaram Temple known as Kanakasabhai
Thank you for this video!
Tqq mam the ending words are so motivating..
Thank you, Amrita Ji ! The video is both informative and educational.
Please do dance classes ❤
Wow very nice 👌
Bharatnatyam is more similar to Kathakali while Odissi and Kuchipudi are more similar to each other.
Great explaination ma'am. I always wanted to learn from my childhood. But it didn't happen though.... My age is 24 . Can I learn now ma'am?
Hey! I am a Kuchipudi dancer who has a little experience in teaching. You can definitely start dancing. Adults can usually pick up quite easily and quickly, but you might need to put in a little more effort physically.
Any similarities between Kuchipudi and Odissi? Cause Odisha and Andhra share border too.
Madam may I know where you live i'm interested to learn from you. I learnt the steps but I want them to be more perfect when I perform pleaseeee let me know your contact so that I can learn from you.
Give me a chance to travel with you it will give me immense satisfaction to my soul
Bharatanaatiyam was originally called Sadhir Aatam. The dancers had to sing and dance simultaneously. Its from Aadhir aatam is where these dance forms originated. I heard fhere is only a few Sadhir aatam dancers left in India today as everyone opting for Bharatanaatiyam. Funny you didnt mentioned these in the video. Since you were giving background info on these dances you should have mentioned this too. All the best in your future.
It's so wonderful to listen to you speak about Kuchipudi, mam.❤️ Looking forward to more of you on UA-cam.
