So the 'mimicking voice' is an early nod to the fact that he may have been designed to infiltrate and assassinate high ranking Aeorian folk. Like we know that's what he was for, so it's super ominous that he did that to Dancer. I wonder if he's been doing that to the cast more than we realize.
The assassinations took place outside of Aeor, based on the info from Joe about the "care and culling" they were sent to rivals around Exandria as "peace offerings," so it makes even more sense!
I'm getting flashbacks to (CR2 MAJOR SPOILERS): The moment after Nott became Veth and had the smooth feminine voice before Sam revealed he was trolling and said she had dust in her throat, lol.
I do find it odd that it was so funny to laura that there was 2 southern accents, but in campaign 1 they had 3 people doing english accents and no one really even noticed
To be fair, we didn't get to see the first time those accents came out. By the time we as viewers saw Vox Machina they'd already gotten used to each other's voices.
I think its because an English accent is a fairly common trope in fantasy, sci-fi, etc that its almost not noticed, but a Southern accent is far less commonly heard save for when its the actor's natural accent.
Going back watching these clips. The funniest part to me in this clip. You can hear Liam laughing in the background because Sam picked what Liam suggested him.
Sam gave FCG an accent similar to Imogen's, but if he's an ancient automaton from Aeor it didn't fit, so Matt said he'd mimicked Dancer's voice, providing a reason for the incongruous detail
@@PaulGarnerBlueskiwi eh, it was more opening the door for a personality or accent change without making anything "off". The only two entities that we've ever seen from Aeor is Devexian and Bolo, which did not have anywhere near the same accent attempt. We don't have anything to really compare it to that would make it not "fit" beyond the personality not really matching that of an assassin-bot.
Imogen was there first, so Laura was laughing at the fact that Sam came out with the same accent. She, at some point, asked if Dancer was from where she's from and Matt made Dancer's home make sense as to why FCG would have that accent. Then, he made FCG having that accent make sense by saying he copied Dancer's way of talking, given she didn't make him, and he's actually a 1000+yr robot from Bolo's nation.
So FCG is from Aeor and his current accent is adopted. Then we must assume he actually sounds like Bolo in EXU Calamity, right?
I love this so much
it’s either Bolo or Devexian. No in between 😤
@@doolicious or exactly in between, posh and proper slavic
I really hope someone tells him this and at one point if he forgets who he is he will sound like bolo
NO. No absolutely not I can’t accept this 😂 omg I can’t stop imagining it. FCG going “smiley day to ya” with a Slavic accent? Oh goodness.
the southern bells
Amazing

Sam's characters have always made me go from "Lol are you serious?" to "Holy fuck what a good character idea..." over the course of their play time.
I am pretty sure it was high ranking people outside of Aeor
Setting up a voice change for when/if FCG gets his memory back from before Dancer turned him on.
I can't decide if Sam's telegraphing his character arcs a bit more this season or if I'm simply clued into the shenanigans after all this time

@@JB-xl2jc yeah but what about Devexian’s voice change?
@@tannertadlock7741 Oooh good point! I actually forgot about the voice change despite remembering the rejuvenation!
FCG gets his memories back and is like “I am Devexian”
the aeormatons were all a hive mind from the start *DUN DUN DUNNN*
was about to comment the same. He was so amused when matt pulled "the devexian" It must be what sam's going for with fcg
The background laughter from the others is just perfect!
FCG's real voice is going to sound like Bolo I will bet $$.

Three? There's at least four. Five if you count Tiberius

My first game of D&D there were 5 or so Americans doing terrible British accents and then me, an actual British person 😹
