I'm NOT asking for financial advice. I'm torn between the tax implicstions and taking profits. Few have my strategy it's clutch. In early.. especially on the MAJOR ALTS. So, here's the 'opinion' I'm asking for. When you sell and buy right back in days or within a month, haven't you still created taxable income?
I have little income but we'll over 100 $trong in Crypto of 16k in 9 mos. The majority of my money in by Sept/Oct. So, again, in 45 coins I'm happy. Anyone would be!
If I trade volatility then am I not creating short term (higher tax rate) taxable income. Vs going LT and only paying at end of cycle when I rotate to stable coins and the downside losses are much greater than taxes. Plus, I'm gonna be taxed on previous tXs I took Profit$ and try to keep them at the long term capital gains (over 1 year).

Being a "HODLER" and not having a profit taking strategy is just stupid. My potential profit taking levels are 2.65-3.80, 4.80-9.50, 13.50-27. This is my strategy because while your portfolio looks nice when it has enough to buy a house or a mansion, it doesn't do anything for you until you push the sell button. Most people, yes MOST people will not sell anywhere near the top. For the simple fact that it's impossible. Not because you are incapable of it, but because only so many can sell at a specific price.

Good advice Brodie, HOWEVER, I’m not touching mine. That’s what the other ALT coins are for. Reason being, you could take profits and potentially loose access to re-purchase. Remember, the crypto market is a strange space.

He actually gives a really good reasoning for it if you listen. The key with any investment is to take profits along the way. A lot of the XRP community thinks XRP will hit ridiculous price points (which like he said in the video, it won’t). He’s giving the realistic price expectations for XRP and is telling people to either be smart by selling or get wrecked holding on to a pipe dream

Bud, macro perspectives show that holding long term is imeasurable more profitable that selling short term. The reason for selling is irrelevant.

I agree with the strategy, not the targets though - based on fundamentals and Technical Analysis, we’re going A LOT higher than $7-8 in the mid/long term. My first partial profit taking starts at $15 , then $30 then HODL rest till $100 when my next profit taking positions start. Just get as much solid , non-biased analysis and opinion from as many sources as possible, then set your targets.

Look at the speeding up of the digital money / CBDC race, I think 3 years is almost pushing it too far for the start of a utility run. I made the same warning video to Bitcoin Hodlers, Crypto hodlers, and XRP hodlers. Then the market crashed. I then suggested people to buy back in, lower, even XRP in my livestream ;)

Listen or get wrecked? You said "take profits" along various intervals 5, 8, and 10 dollars. How would I be " wrecked" if i would be taking a profit? Also, how about I just hold until the higher levels come in like 10 dollars, 20 dollars, and so on to not risk losing any xrp in a profit taking scheme that you promote. Sounds like your way of doing things has only resulted in anger. Are you mad at yourself that you misunderstood XRP and now you cant get it for .25 anymore?

Got out once it broke critical support right before the sec news and got into SNX, made a huge profit and got back in at 62 cents and 72 cents, and put 1/3 of it in ADA at 1.30. If it is centralized, it can be shorted and its value will decrease periodically. Also I did exchange half my XRP just after the last ruling against the SEC, for other altcoins. I did not change it to fiat.

Nothing wrong with taking profits. I am holding the large majority of my xrp coins for the future. The global use case of this coin will be massive. In 2025-2030 this coin will be significantly higher than it is now. Even if it’s not $100. XRP is the Perfect long term investment!

There is no in between. Not just XRP, although they provide liquidity and instant settlement, ISO coins will either boom or bust. May take time, but I don’t see why any iso coin can’t hit $100+ minimum.

QUESTION...I've been holding XRP for about 2yrs now, & there have been times that it has been 5x the amount that I invested. If I take profits, doesn't that decrease the amount of coins that I'm holding, so I'll make less profit @ a higher price?? Meaning, I WANT to take profits. I just don't understand what will happen. Hi MaryAnn. I cant give an exact answer as it depends on many factors. Me personally i would be taking profits into other crypto s. @@TheCryptoFactor they can not be reasoned with, I tried, I explained how brad sells over the counter at a 30% discount to institutuonal investors who turn around and dump it on the market, I told them how bradley and larson are dumping like there is no tomorrow, I told them that the clients that are signing up are using Ripple's suites and not ODL, I told them that by Ripple holding and escrow of 48.7 B XRP and dumping it, it keeps the price low, I asked them if they thought that the 20-40 cent range for years was an accident, they have not listened, they will not because most of th3m think they understand but they don't because they are not investors, for most of them this is their first investment, and all.of those channels hype XRP nonstop and this us the narrative they choose to believe. I too am an XRP holder, but I am also a professional investor, so I understand what is happening, but they will not accept reason, I have steadily taken profits and I am still part of the 1% top XRP holders, I have been way into the green since 2018, I will hold 20% of my XRP after it hits 5.89 cents, to see what happens. Why would you cash out into a fiat currency when XRP will be a currency that can be used anywhere here soon? Unless you are putting that fiat into tangible goods then yes sell some. But to take profit in fiat currency that is dying is….you know. For the most part everyone knows that the price is manipulated until the moment is needed. Liquidity and energy crisis.
Because XRP might not be the currency that can be used anywhere soon and even if it is it will not be soon. Also you can use XRP to pay bills, and invest in other instruments right now.
