@@zLukaszem We've already got our plane tickets and leave late August and return in October. We lived there four years while my husband was in the Air Force. Those roads are very familiar and I would prefer to drive there where most everyone is polite rather than six lanes of trucks here in the U.S.
@@zLukaszem Our GPS also took us on one of "those" roads but here's what we use now in case you haven't tried it. In Google Maps, bring up a map of Crete, on the Search Line, select the little blue circle and select "offline maps." Save the Crete map. When you want to use it after that, just go to Offline Maps. You don't need WiFI and there's no data charge.

Missing Crete! We've been back every year since 2015...except Covid 2020.
And for us 2020 was the first time in Crete. Lovely island, absolutely. I hope you'll visit it again this year!

Oglądając film mam wrażenie że wschód wyspy jest ciekawszy, a co ty sądzisz ?
Niestety nie byliśmy na wschodzie - nie dalej, niż Matala i okolice (ale to bardziej centrum)
Czy droga z lotniska do Kissamos jest dobrze oswietlona?
Nie wiem czy cała... Ale na przedmieściach Chanii tak :)
