Blakely’s injury shows why you can not just purely go with highest scoring team. It has to be a combination of highest scoring team but also take into account possible injury(ies) and making sure you have someone reliable to do any event with a decent/useable score. In a world where no one gets injured, then You can purely go with highest scoring team even if that means you have 2 gymnasts that you only use on 1 event.
Skye being hurt is DEVASTATING. This is why I have said from the beginning that the US put the gymnasts through too much. Every other country has one major event to select the team but the US have about three within a SHORT SPACE of time. This is terrible and needs to stop. Nationals and Trials should have been ONE and DONE especially as this sport requires so much from the athletes. I hope they do away with this triangulation of competitions in the future.

I’m glad to hear Jade has brought back her amanar to set her apart from all the double twisting yurchenko’s. The 9 time world medalist and Olympic gold medal floor champ would be on my team. Let Simone sit out floor and/or vault during team finals. It did not prove fruitful to leave the other double event finalist off the team in 2021 so why do it again? Especially now if Skye is injured.
Why do you want Simone to sit out floor and/or vault? BB and UB aren't even her best events. That means her AA scores are so much superior to all other gymnasts from both America and the world... is heavily due to her giant floor tumbling and dare devil vaulting. Again, a few Americans and for sure, a few Chinese and that Algerian-French girl, Kaylia Nemour, almost for sure, will beat Simones on the UB and BB. Even Suni, for example, is extremely capable of beating Simones on the UB and BB beam.... not often enough but regularly to know she could do it, if she's perfect... Suni has had health issues the last 2 plus years, so the nationals 2 or so weeks ago, was the first time she did all apparatuses, with Simones and all other elites also competing... Anyway, the problem why on AA scores very few other individuals --- who may be great in one or two apparatuses --- could beat Biles ..... is her LEVEL of difficulty. She does so many very difficult tricks, even if she's not landing perfectly, even with a great deduction, she still is right beside another elite with close to a perfect score, on that same apparatus.... so, on all 4 apparatuses, over many hours in a 2-3 day event, wear & tear take almost all others out of her AA range!
@@kiabtoomlauj6249 there’s no Russians at this Olympics and why does she need to carry the team again doing all four? If Skye is out they’ll need her bars and beam.
@Nixmathis they shouldn’t need her!! And why does she need to do all four? Why can’t she have the tiniest of breaks during team to save herself a smidge for AA? She’s a woman not a machine to used by USA gymnastics.

Chellsie and Alicia said top 2 on 2 events to buck AA order or it's not happening and I agree.
And lastly, when I say "specialist" I don't mean someone that literally cannot do the AA, I mean athletes that aren't top 4 on at least two events. For example, Jade might get top 5AA, but if she does not, she would be hoping to bump a top 5 AA'r for a "specialist spot" since she only gets top 5 on VT. At championships she was 5th on FX with both Shilese and Kaliya gone, also Jordan and Joscelyn had higher one day scores. Internationally, Jordan, Jade, and Joscelyn would all get dragged on FX this year, FIG has gotten tougher and tougher with scoring over the quad. Maybe her one vault is worth it for a team final to some, but her FX definitely is not, nor is BB/UB.
My team is Simone, Shi, Suni, Kayla, and Leanne. Jordan and Jade are traveling alternates; Hezly and Tiana as non-traveling alternates.
Jade won't be left home over Kayla and Leanne let's be fr 😂 They have no medal potential. Jade can give you vault and floor medals at her intended difficulty.
@@cocoroni1031 Vault maybe, floor no way.
@@leykimayri She has a 6.4+D floor. Ain't no way she doesn't medal if she just hits without major mistakes.
@@cocoroni1031 With a max 7.5 and more realistically a 7.0 E-score she’ll be getting I doubt she can even come close to any medal 😂
@@leykimayri she already got 8+E on floor with that bum ass L hop in 2022 let’s be fr😂
