- @GeorgeNotFound recently got his hands on the Enchroma Glasses. Although they are very useful for differentiating colors, they do not allow him to see all the colors as popular opinion is thinking.

My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined
At least it’s a step in the right direction for seeing colors normally
know that it does get better the more he looks though the glasses, the more his eyes will adapt
ThePurpleGuy he can’t see the colours because he lacks, or his brain is unconnected to, red and green cone cells. That is what let’s you see colours. If he doesn’t have the thing that lets him see them, he can’t see them without them added to his retinas (the back of his eye). This would be from someone else’s eyes or a dead body’s eyes. They would also need to be connected to his brain. Basically, he can NEVER see them.
Edit: Sorry everyone, I was wrong. It’s not a lack of red and green cones, it’s that they overlap and make the same colour instead of 2 different ones. But he would still need new cone cells to see red and green, or have them fixed (I don’t know what other word to use) so they don’t overlap.
me after the intro be like:
@@mysecretyoutubeguy6181 Oooh, that's a cool new info
Dream: you can see red now, George!!
George's eyes: *are you sure about that*
Our yellow isn’t yellow to him, like he said at the beginning it’s basically impossible to view exactly what he’s seeing
Let's be fair, the video isn't completely accurate. It's not EXACTLY what he sees but it's pretty close.

Bro when he said “Thats pink” and it looked gray my mind was blown and I just realized that he learned colors different than me.
Same,, it's really fascinating how he saw the yellow-green blocks and said "it looks redder" because he's learned that's what red looks like
Even if know the name of a coulour he still hasent seen it
It's entirely possible all of us learned colours different than each other. I can ask you if red looks different than green, but I cant ask you if red looks the same to you as to me.
Omg 😲 my teachers from other classes dont even know this
I wanted to point this out, He didn't learn 'different' colors from you he SAW a different tone of colors then you, And then again this isn't 100% accurate pink may be darker to him or lighter so therefor being dark gray/blackish or light gray, Not getting mad just pointing it out.
I love how George was like: “wait your actually green!?”
Like he thought Dream was lying to him about being green the whole time

Hi chez
In start if video it said thath is what most of people thath are colorblind see so gorge maybe sees little bit more difrend
bro this actually is kinda sad like he didnt really see anything dif, he only got to see things just a lil more colorful :(
For him, he saw a whole new world. He has no idea what real colours are, but now he can tell the difference. Hes lived with this for a long time and these made it so much easier, to the point that they’re practically different colours to him.
Well the point of the glasses is being able to tell the difference at least. Not seeing actual new colors
Statistically he is infinitely closer to not being colour blind

I'm actually surprised some people thought that *glasses* could cure being colorblind 🤷♀

You know, it's especially sad because dream thought George could see real colors. But George sees this. It's not that different to us people who aren't colorblind which is so sad.
George seemed very happy though which is what matters yknow? :)
Like it seems sad to us, but George learned colors differently to how we see, so this is still really neat to him
@@theYammy Yea, George's happiness matters most, I just feel bad for Dream if he finds out something he expected to be, not what it seems to be
Yeah, I thought he could see purple and red better than he actually did, but I like how green and yellow looked more different from each other
Technically every animals see’s differently so theres no colour blind
WAUT U MEAN TO TELL ME THAT WHEN I TRIEF THE COLORBLIND GLASSES THOSE WERENT THE COLORS U GUYS NORMALLY SEE? KAUSJHXUSIJXU
Hearing him say "red" and "orange" to colors that are clearly green and yellow to me is so interesting... I wonder how he tells them apart.
Because he learned colors differently from us. To us, it’s green and yellow, but to him, that’s always been what red and orange is because that’s what people call the colors he is looking at.
probably how dark or what gray tone it is
He sees red and orange as shades of greenish grey
And seeing him say pink and magenta about things that look grey and light blue is weird
well you know them as diffrent shades its just that he even has to memorize the shades you could do the same basically by using their real names
My brother has the same color blindness as George, but more severe He loves his color blind glasses. He cried when he saw pink and purple. It still makes me sad that they still can't see the vibrance of what we see.
Aww, that’s genuinely wholesome
It’s sad seeing George so excited and surprised just by seeing a little more contrast between colours

In conclusion: No, George seeing colors is still very limited and the glasses make a contrast between the Colors and don't just give him the ability to see colors, it's sad but for George at that point in life he has adapted to the colors he sees so it's fun for him as he can actually distinguish the colors, this is very bitter sweet.

It’s so weird that he’ll never actually know what red, green or purple actually look like to us
Wdym this video could be somewhat accurate but it could also be way different then what he sees with the glasses on.
@@luke-wp8vc and we'll never know
omg yeah he’ll NEVER know :((
BTW your red might be blue for me but we all call it by the same name
He could, technology is rapidly improving, so maybe in a decade or two, we could have perfect colourblind glasses.
This is so wholesome to me, because even though I'm seeing the *actual* difference in a (somewhat) accurate way, it still goes over my head just how fascinated George is by all of this- It just blows me away, honestly, and I can only imagine how exciting it must've been for him, because the contrast probably means a lot more when you're so used to seeing things the way George does *without* the glasses.
And *also,* I am genuinely impressed here, because now I understand a little better how (seemingly) miniscule the difference actually *is,* and George is catching onto which color is which *incredibly* quickly. *I'd* probably have a *lot* more trouble than that-
(shoutout to dream for being so incredibly patient and supportive)
This is pretty much what Enchroma does. It doesn't magically make you see full colour vision, but it does help increase the contrast a lot, causing red and green to be more vibrant and stand out from other colours so George can tell them apart a lot better. That alone is a major improvement and I'm amazed that glasses like that exist.
George: Looks at Redstone
Me: It's yellow
George: It's so red

Well yes but accually no.

I know, I think the editing isn’t exactly what he saw.
Not me actually thinking he saw everything perfectly
As a colorblind person who has used the glasses, they aren't colors that you guys are expecting I guess
it only helps you differentiate colors not actually see them
Same, but since the glasses can't add color to your spectrum I guess thats why he isnt.
Same i thought that he could actually see
Same😭
I feel like even though yes, it is sad he can't actually see colors properly, we should at least be happy that he's now able to at least somewhat see differences between colors that he was literally incapable of telling apart before. In my eyes, that's a *huge* step, and something that people that are making things like these glasses can build from in the future, and get people like George closer to being able to see the world how it actually is.
it is actually super interesting to see how thanks to these glasses George can recognize pink but at the same time how different his pink is to ours. Something about him being able to recognize pink BUT ALSO what he recognizes as the color not being what WE usually see is fascinating
Guys, it’s not “sad”. You just had your expectations too high. It’s still an amazing achievement for colourblind people.

This is the perfect example of "perception dictates reality." When George says something looks more red, but it still just looks yellow for other people, that dark yellow actually IS red to him. When he was learning colors as a kid, and someone would point to what we'd see as gray, and say "this is pink," from then on that's what pink means to him. It's just a really interesting concept to consider, especially with colors but it could pertain to anything we perceive. If someone is telling you "no that's wrong, that's not what it is" but it's all you've ever seen or experienced, you're not going to have any idea why your perception is "wrong," to you it's reality. Very interesting, and a good thought when trying to be more understanding of others.

Is no one gonna talk about how wholesome Dream is, This man took time to spend I assume half a day with George talking and showing him colors
And the way he's very excited that he'll be the first one george would see with the glasses🥺❤️
when you wish you had a friend like that
thats best friends for you :)
@@janessasena835 YEAHHH
Funny
Kind of crazy that he will never see red in his entire life...
Unless some crazy scientist makes enchroma glasses inhumanly good
@@SailentZen well hes like 20 so i truly believe he’ll see color some time in his life
@@dletetdchanel6104 yep
Saddnes :(
someday
as a colorblind person, when this video came out, i wanted to get these glasses really bad, hoping i whould see colors, but once i got them, it changed literally nothing to be honest, only some of the colors darkness, but i never got to know which one was like green or yellow. i thought it whould actually work, even though, i knew that there are many different colorblindnesses, but i only realized it how different they were if it actually worked or not for someone. i was disappointed and not at the same time. i mean, im okay like this, but i still want to know what it whould be like to see the colors that i do not see and other people do. and after getting bullied at school for it, from 1st to 5th grade, they made me feel like im different from everyone in a bad way, but everything changed in 6th grade, since i changed school a few years ago. people told me that its actually very rare for girls to be colorblind, and i started to feel special, but still, i feel like im going to be curious about it for the rest of my life
Hello, if you are in the same category as George, you must be Protanopia ? Like you see Shades of BLUE and YELLOW-BRAUN ?
--> I have an mental exercice for you ;D to imagine what it can be like to see more color.
1) You see how BLUE and YELLOW are different ? Let's say they are 50 points of powerful difference between them.
Imagine that RED is 80 points away from YELLOW, or even BLUE or GREEN. --> It's just to tell you how much a real RED is a new color if you never really saw it.
Purple = 30 points different from Blue and Red
Pink = 30 points different from RED or PURPLE and 80 points different from any other colors. Like it's also a powerful color if you never saw it.
Now imagine that Green is 40 points of difference as YELLOW. The green you thought you could see, will only be like 5 points different from yellow. In fact it's just a brown.
---> If you never saw a real GREEN --> I tell you, it's as Powerful as RED. So if you never saw a real GREEN forest --> You will be amazed once you dies. (if there is an afterlife and you would see green for the first time).
I knew it wouldnt be perfect but, oooh thats bad
I’m sad cause dream thought he was seeing stuff completely different
Ikrr
i don't think so, dream was being pretty realistic the whole time and I'm pretty sure he was just excited to try something new with him lol
@@dominikq. yeah, but there were also moments where he asked if there was any change at all, and although it isn't in this clip I'm pretty sure there was a moment where dream said he thought they might not even do anything
I think most of the exclamations of "that's ___, you're seeing ___!" were just out of excitement
but either way they obviously had a good time
edit: also, to george this WOULD be seeing red or purple because it's the closest approximation to that color that he can possibly see, and is probably the most red or purple that he's ever seen before putting on the glasses. just thought that's worth mentioning
@@dominikq. also I don't want you to think I'm being argumentative or anything, I just don't want people to feel disappointed just because it's not what they imagined. it really was a special thing and it's cool that they were able to experience it together
@@krispyfff Dream doubted it but he definitely hoped that's what George was seeing, that's the point we're making. I'm sure if he saw just how little of a change there was he would be disappointed.
If I ever become friends with someone who's red-green colorblind, we're definitely having blue-purple Christmas
Naawwww that’s sweet🙃
But light blues and purples, otherwise it just looks like all sorts of blues
that’s super sweet!
That's super sweet of you!
Uhm blue and purple are the same
Watching this made me smile so much. Like im the type of person to watch videos without having ANY emotion, just watch them for entertainment. But this made me smile, it did..!
the fact that george will never see red even with his glasses on its keeping me up at night
I mean in the future, science could figure out a way to let george see red and thats what im waiting for
Or orange
couldn't he see a different block/thing that looks red for him?
The video said that it might not be completely accurate, so he could very well of been seeing purple and red, just not as vibrant and saturated as we see it.
𝚃𝚛𝚞𝚎!
Now I understand why he can’t differentiate the iron and diamond armor, even with the glasses
look at the shoulders though
@@roietbd2992 the shoulders are the only real difference, but you're not going to be able to see that at a distance or during a battle
@@diggoran diamond armor has a more defined outline, a bit darker.
@@roietbd2992 his point still stands
Yeah but it's basically still looking at difference in the texture and not the actual color
No it doesn’t look like that the whole point is they brighten everything but the vid shows it darkens so they actually make everything way more colorful and vibrant then they actually are!
i feel bad for George
Oh ok
I notice a lot of people are saying it's so sad he still can't really see colours
And
Like
I get that
but I'm also happy for him that these glasses ARE helping him differentiate between shades and hues he wasn't able to see before
That's still awesome!
I really hope someday we're able to get glasses that actually let colorblind people see colors
The actual colours ✔️
literally not possible but a cool thought
I think it will not work :/
I mean... we apparently have glasses that let completely blind people see colors
@@Halo916_ no this is impossible lol
i got so sad when he said "I can finally see red" and it was literally yellow
George has never seen red
i wish i could give him my eyes
I think he did see something kind of red ’cause (1) the video doesn't show us a 100% filter (2) I think he did see red because if not he would say that red is similar to green/yellow but he didn't .
Fact: I think he saw some kind of red like really dark orange.
The video said that it might not be completely accurate, so he could very well of been seeing purple and red, just not as vibrant and saturated as we see it.
i wish i could give him my eyes so bad too...
@@charlxng We'll never know... also, maybe he didn't say anything because he clearly learned the colours differently.. I mean he says "it's so red" but he has never seen red as it really is, however for him it's red because he has learned to distinguish the few shades he perceives
The vid is probably not how he sees though. Remember he said that the purple was way redder when it was dark blue in the vid but in reality purple is really a redder blue
He still can't see the best color in the world: red
oo thats actually interesting
recently went back after seeing a youtuber talk about these glasses
