I have listened to both their albums literally hundreds of times over the years, and still their genius wordplay catches me off guard, it suddenly clicks and I can make the link between certain words. It's as if I had never even heard the bars before, you've got to think deep to even make the connection. They were definitely the most intelligent rappers to walk the earth.
In UK yes but definitely not in the whole world. 10+ American rappers surpass them, and there are insane lyricists rapping in languages you don't even speak so you can't understand it.

Its hard to really compare because they're in their own kinda niche sub-genre. I cant think of anyone that you could class as 'surpassing' them but theres definitely a fair few i'd class in the same league. You're right about the rappers in different languages though, some of their bars are insane!
