To be frank this is also how I talk to my parents about the local population, despite us being the immigrant from decades back. When you speak in a different language it is easier to pretend you are still the local.
I know we point this out all the time but seeing her flit between English and Japanese so easily, when _neither_ are her native language, is so damn impressive!
I've always wondered if that doesn't cause extra stress/wear on them physically, though. As impressive as it is, talents like Ollie sometimes (used to at least, not sure if she still does) explain the same thing in 3 different languages. That has to really tax the vocal chords. Ollie has even said her voice has changed since her debut (that may be wholly unrelated though). Each language probably stresses different parts of their voice as well. Very impressive, but also, possibly harmful if not done in moderation? Kiara has done a good job avoiding vocal burnout from what I know, though.
@@DmannrdnI don't think this is an issue for Kiara. Singing and practicing for concerts has to be more strenuous and vocal chords can be trained like muscles. With rest and water you can build vocals that are far stronger, especially if it's your job to speak. I've known a few opera singers who can full belt these massive notes first thing in the morning which is partially skill but also their bodies have adapted so much. I myself used to work at the speaker drive thru for fast food. The first few days were brutal on the voice but then I got used to it. Human (and phoenix) bodies are capable of tremendous growth and adaptation if allowed to.
@Dmannrdn I personally switch between languages a lot when I speak as well, switching language itself doesn't really stress your throat. But if your talking about stressing their throat because they need to explain the same thing 2 to 3 times and overall just needs to speak more then that's a different story.
@@kevintran7208 so essentially, the answer is yes, then. Which makes sense logically, but there are probably caveats and it isn't necessarily a risk for everyone. It will stress the vocals more just simply through increased use. Some talents recover better, adapt quicker, or are possibly genetically predisposed to have more resilient (or others, conversely, are more prone to damage) vocal chords. It probably would only be detrimental to the talents who are predisposed to develop nodules or other complications instead of just being purely a hazard/risk of the job.
Its super cute and very heartwarming! I hope she can go back! Both because Kiara is kinda lonely and because of how enthusiastic Raden is about the local art!
Smugiwawa is really something else. The poor dude probably just studied it in university, which isn't too uncommon as we have a lot of Japanese tourists in Austria and the tourism industry always needs guides that can talk to foreigners.
Yeah Kiwawa is really amazing on how she speaks like a native and how easily she changes languages Excited Raden is just so adorable, especially when it's about arts and museums xD
I'm glad that the girl actually takes a break like this once in a while to release some stress from working, they all are a hard working person after all
Calli's been to see her before too, during a previous work-related trip she was on. And Reine! Didn't she? I think I remember Reine visited her. But it's understandable. Austria's very far away, got to pay for it, have to find time and they're always so busy. A Europe trip has to be really locked in to do it.
I'm surprised more of them don't take her up on the invitation. There's no better opportunity to travel to other side of the world safely than to have someone you know welcome and guide you around. Safety, translations, company, trust - that's no joke.
3:20 Mozart was, in fact, not Austrian. At that time Salzburg was, like Augsburg, an arch-bishopric under the Holy Roman Empire. The nationality 'Austrian' didn't even exist until the 20th century. His identity is something I wouldn't put as Germany or Austria, but more like "Of the German people" or "Salzburgian"
English to japanese translation is pretty rough from my personal experiences imo. People don’t realize how different languages are until you actually learn and actively have to use more than one.
Not exactly. While it is true that Germany and Japan formed an alliance, there was a great level of distrust between the 2 of them, especially after Germany made a temporary peace deal with the Soviet Union when the original plan was to attack them alongside Japan. This distrust eventually resulted in Germany and Japan fighting 2 separate wars on 2 separate fronts. They were allies, sure, but definitely not friends. This has been Fun History Facts with Birdboy109.

Uh, no, you were the only native there, Kiwawa. The tour was in Austria. XD
The only foreigner in that particular tour group, she means.
@@belliebun4529 Not even that. Everybody else but her was a foreigner.
I guess she’s so used to considering herself a "foreigner" being in a Japanese company all the time lol

Using 'foreigner' for non-Japanese people is fundamentally racist and should be avoided when possible.
She's so happy. I'm glad some of the girls finally visits Austria for her.
next bae need to visit austria and kiara to aussie XD
@@DBT1007 A cultural exchange, like the Steyr Aug!

I love it when Raden shows her art enthusiast side
Yeah, it's so cute when the Holomems nerd out about their hobbies and interests
Can't imagine how excited she would be walking around Austria
Pretty sure its a major reason they went. Don't remember when but pretty sure Kiara offered Raden an open invitation to visit her in Austria.
Its super cute and very heartwarming! I hope she can go back! Both because Kiara is kinda lonely and because of how enthusiastic Raden is about the local art!
I love Kiara’s smug laugh about her pronunciation plus how she’s showing her Austrian pride.
Kiara, in Austria, you're the only local there LOL
This whole stream was so enjoyable to watch, I really recommend it ! I really love Hololive EN IRL interactions ! They were so wholesome

I wonder if raden carried her pompompurin with her, lol
I believe they said she bringed 2 with her lol
Mozart was a big party and girls guy in his time. so he would have liked the phoenix
Kiara's smug laugh reminds me of Pekora 😋
It's hilarious that Kiara in her home country Austria is still considered "the foreigner".
Thr foreigner in the japanese group, not as in the country a foreigner.
@@Z-Renand tbf calling herself a "gaijin" also makes for a good ironic joke in the moment

A black person is called "koku-jin" btw

I love how Kiara knows the Magic Flute in german but not English
The fact that Ririka and Raden actually went to Austria to visit Kiwawa is very impressive. No Hololive member has ever visited before.
Nerissa technically did, but it was mainly a stopover towards the Maldives.

Kiara has lived for so long that she was probably friends with all the famous Austrians
