In every film I can feel your dedication for this sport. You are an inspiration, Rafael. Great job, keep it flowing. You will do great, I believe in you.
Another great video and it is amazing to be able to follow you through out this whole journey! It’s so important to both show the up and downs and this really shows how real the struggle is and that you need to dig deep in some races to just be able to finish it. Good job and I look forward to see the next one! Ale ale ale!
Thanks Alexandra!! Indeed as you say it’s all about the ups and downs in these adventures! I try my best to reflect that emotional roller coaster. Thanks for following!!! 🤗
Really awesome achievement! And you didn´t brake, you resisted and fulfilled your task. So all went well and your ankle coped much better with the effort than your knees. Stay safe, take care and have fun!
What a race you managed to express your filling and thoughts very well. You did great preperation, best of luck at UTMB leave your body enough time to recover and be fresh at the start line.
Love following this journey, and it's a nice bonus to get to see Geneva and its surroundings -- I did my phd at CERN and loved the time I spent in that city, in the alps and the jura. You're gonna smash the UTMB, keep pushing!
Rafael another wonderfully insightful and personal film. Chapeau Sir congratulations on a tough finish. You looked tired at the start my friend. Eat well enjoy your family and rest well. i look forward to following your UTMB 🙌🙌
Nice trails around Geneva, indeed some killer sections especially when you have already a marathon in your legs. Glad you made it all the way until the end.
Way to get this done! The technical ascents and descents remind me of the trails here in the East Coast of the USA. Hoping that UTMB will be less technical than that on average, though I know there are some tough parts.
Top vidéo. Marant de voir ces chemins sur lesquels je cours aussi et j’en ai découvert d’autres grâce à ta vidéo. La montée/descente du Salève elle est quand même bien hard….alors après 40 km…j’ose pas imaginer. Bravo. Good luck pour next week.
I had issues with the knees in the previous race and it got worse in this race but only learned after that it was due to IT Band… i will cover this more in the next film; at Lavaredo i suffered even more.
@@amblincork we all complain in our everyday lives. Is life really for us? 🤣 dude, ultra running just like life; its tough and it has its ups and downs. I show the raw aspect of that difficulty. Growth lies in doing the difficult things which are for sure going to bring out the worst in us, but overcoming these challenges takes us to the other side of transformation
@@rafaelhidalgo I am a 67 trail runner who manages not to complaint like you when I do mountain running ..and I did my first ultra in my 60's...and my expereince is trail runners, in general, tend not to complaint very much and it is uncommont for ultra runners to complain so much on their race videos....as for your final sentence..please save that for when you are selling something..You are doing the kind of running which you want to do which is great for you.....but try not to ake a martyr of yourself - when I start to feel very tired and sore on the later stages of races, I tell myself I am exactly where I most want to be running that race and there are a lot of people who would love to ,be able to do this kind of race in incredibly beautiful places, but who cannot through no fault of their own - we are the luckly ones who dont need sympathy,
@@amblincork what has the age got to do with it? Appreciate your very long winded message, but it will have absolutely zero impact on the way I will do my films nor how I experience these race 😄 these races are tough and I will share the emotional and mental state I am in whether you like it or not 🙌 hehe
You are making really good videos ,but in my humble opinion that complains in each video are off-putting, you stress too much on the injuries and I don`t think that should be the main focus in the videos.

Thanks a lot Samuel!! I hope everyone finds a bit of themselves in these stories 🙌
Another great video Rafael! Thanks for that.
Thanks a lot Robert!

Thanks! I have some films where i mention CERN actually 😃 i lived really close to it. Cool to connect with someone who also know the region 🙌
I saw that, it was a nice surprise! I've walked that road many times from st genis across the border @@rafaelhidalgo

Thanks Javier! Stoked you enjoyed it! More to come! There’s some awesome stories coming up in the Dolomites 🇮🇹 , Zermatt 🇨🇭 and Verbier 🇨🇭 !
Great filming and well done for hanging in there. Some races go our way and some just don't but you got it done. 👍
Thanks Ian! As you say some go our way and others don’t. We just need to hang in there, just like in life.

Inspiring and motivating as always!
Thanks Jasper!
Havent noticed or skipped...what was with your knees? ITB?
Which shoes were you planning on using during utmb?
I had issues with the knees in the previous race and it got worse in this race but only learned after that it was due to IT Band… i will cover this more in the next film; at Lavaredo i suffered even more.
I am surprised how urban this is
Yeah had to go through the city twice but it was ok
