"In my talons, I shape clay, crafting life forms as I please. If I wish, I can smash it all. Around me is a burgeoning empire of steel. From my throne room, lines of power careen into the skies of Earth. My whims will become lightning bolts that raze the mounds of humanity. Out of the chaos, they will run and whimper, praying for me to end their tedious anarchy. I am drunk with this vision. God: the title suits me well."
This remix is really great. Just straight out a modernizing of the old DOS theme, no unnecessary changes to rhythm or melody and no added parts that don't fit the song. We need more of this.
It's an amazing song and cover, but doesn't fit a horror game at all unless it was focused around action. But the music has no creepy atmosphere. This was the main issue I had with SS 1/2's OSTs. They were good, but some of the tracks (Listen to Command 2 from System Shock 2) absolutely destroyed the feeling of horror and being alone against insurmountable odds that System Shock 1 and 2 presented. It's the reason I play those games without their music on, but they're damned good to listen to while kicking ass in an action game. Props on this well-done cover!
@@vXArchonXv I dunno, every time I hear the drum and bass and most music start playing on system shock 2 my heart starts racing just by association of that meaning something is after you lol. as for the first game, I think the catchy industrial bleeps and bloops only add to the isolated, creepy and surreal feeling of the game, but you're definitely right in that neither are strictly horror games with sounds like silent hill. they're pretty scary/intense in their own right tho.
@@panterxbeats But more scary and intense in the sense of something like The Flood in Halo. But Marty did the music for them in a way that kept a degree of terror and fear (Much of the music in The Library is a perfect example). The music for some of the tracks in SS1/2 are too obtrusive and also really drone out the horrifying sounds of Hybrids chasing you while begging to be killed or other unnerving things. It just doesn't mesh well. Alternatively, you have some tracks in SS2 like Med Sci 2, Ops 2, Hydro 2 that are absolutely perfect and in sync with the atmosphere and horrors you encounter in SS2. It's weird how the game alternates between actiony tracks and horror ones for different decks. But they juxtapose each other too much which I think hurts the fear factor of the game.
One of the best remixes on youtube😆 The new system shock game from what I have heard has a awful generic soundtrack I guess I will just have to listen to this while I play the new game.
I'm replaying the original enhanced version (as I do every so often), and it is just phenomenal. It was so far ahead as a game an an experience. One of few games that actually scare me. And the music.... I think the music and sound in general adds so much. It's unnerving.

When you find the flechette/laser rapier/ and rf skorpion and now youre in business
bruh why would you need a flechette and skorpion they're basically the same but one is better
@@j6148-f3v i use the laser weapons to save ammo since energy is so easy to get an infinite amount of
@@AleK0451 you dont find that until later. Fletchette is great in midgame and laser rapier always. I found them both in the same floor
@@lv1543 i quite like that single shot rifle up until i get the ion rifle which just becomes my workhorse at that point, it's too good for everything
If only modern horror would consist of this music
Lily Thomas It would be awesome !

This sounds like it could work, maybe using a less subtle and more outright intense John Carpenter material
Awesome Cover! There are not nearly enough remakes of game music out there!
Mmmm, delicious.
VierasMarius love your profile pic !
I think this would fit the upcoming Remake like a glove. Hope someone adds it somehow.
The force is strong with this one ...
These are some big boy beats right there

If something wasn't made for you it's not awful.
This track is sick though and it should made it in

I'm sure it's a mixture of guilt and pride...
I think they should use these kinda covers in new system shock remake game.
