So funny, I just told my coworker today that I have no plans to retire. I’m your age and I don’t have any issues with my current job and it’s completely stress free. I make good money and I have a life outside of work. I enjoy the low cost health benefits, the funding of a pension and a generous 401k. So for now, I’m going to live in these blessings and continue with gratitude!
@broco6608 I totally understand. There were many times in my career where I had a job I didn’t enjoy. I’m at the tail end of my career and I am blessed with a job where my coworkers are spread across the country so there’s very little day to day interaction. And I have the ability to work from home a few days out of the week. That helps tremendously. I work in finance.
I am not able to disclose what I do for a living and need to keep that personal but the bulk of my work is field work that consists of traveling which I love.
That's it! 1) Live the second chapter of your life with intention and purpose. 2) Take care of your health (mental, spiritual and physical) 3) Stay as active as possible 4) But don't feel guilty about doing nothing sometimes, or saying no. 5). If you can afford to, travel and see the world! Great tips! 👍
Living your life doing the things that make you happy and bring you joy is the ultimate goal. However way you get there! Retirement is a personal choice and I respect everyone’s journey. Thank you for watching and noting the highlights. I appreciate your support. 🦋
@theyolandamoore Awww...thank you sis! And you are killing it with your channel. I watch as many as I can and want to give you as many watch hours as possible. We are all in this together. I was watching ESPN coverage of the MBA game the other night and immediately thought of YOU. I can't wait to see on that stage one day SOON! Much love.
You know, I it was a pleasure to hear someone articulate this mindset. As she transitioned through her points the inside of me was yelling “ that’s me”!!! Love this! It’s good to know that it’s not just me who feels like what defines me is what I allow to define me. I don’t fit in the stereotypical box of life… AND I’m happy…….
That’s so many of us. We are all in this together. Thank you for watching. Keep doing you and what makes you happy. I appreciate your support. Thank you for watching. 🦋
I wish I loved my job. I have never found fulfillment from working. I’m 55 in January and I can’t wait to retire and spend my time reading, making art, gardening and spending more time with my grandsons.
I love that you have a plan for when you retire and will do the things that will bring you joy. That is what is most important. Keep smiling and do what makes your heart happy! I appreciate your support! ♥
Me too! 55 in January and I’m over this job but I have managed to keep working from home after others were required to go back to the office.. so I’m trying to hang in there and focus on my financial goals until I can “retire” from this and focus on a means producing income that I will enjoy
I heard a quote once and it holds true -- especially given your scenario. "Do what you HAVE to do so that you can do what you WANT to do"! I appreciate your support. 🦋
Marriage, kids & retirement are personal decisions. Doing what you love and brings you joy is the most important. Keep doing you. Thank you for watching. I appreciate your support. 🦋
Thank you for sharing. You really helped me with your channel, I am 56 56-year-old widow. I am healing after 10 years of loss. I lost my sister/best friend 5 years ago. I am grateful for today. Love from Queens, NewYork.
I purged my closet last month and it was so liberating. I am so happy for you! Isn't it the best feeling? I can relate to you on all levels. This season for me has been about purging, shedding and letting go of things that no longer serve me which include my hair, clothing, shoes, bags, decluttering my basement and a few more. Maybe one day I will do a video on them and share them here. Thoughts? Thank you for your comment & support. ♥
Im so glad I hate shopping lol (I'm sure my husband is, too 😆). I was never into the whole fashion scene..... I could care less 🤷♀️ give me a few outfits, and I'm good 😉 God bless you, beautiful ladies 🙏❤️
You are one smart cookie! It took me to 60 to learn to not give a shit about what others think, and to withdraw myself from negativity. If a person doesnt add something positive to my life, they are not in my life anymore.
@@LifewithLissette Yes!Yes!Yes!... Very much important... retired at 58😅... Learned Many life's lessons!...Took time BUT learned to say NO! I'M TIRED! I DON'T WANT TO! NOT NOW! I retired as early as was financially possible. at 56! At that point I had been working full-time for 40 years and I was really fed up with it. I have never regretted it and, 5 years later, I still enjoy every single day with absolute gratitude. I'm living my best life NOW
Wow! Congratulation and kudos to you!! That is absolutely amazing and am happy for you. Living life on your terms is the ultimate goal. Thank you for your comment & support. ♥
Luv your video!!!🎉 Keep doing you my friend! Butterfly era is an awesome way to describe this phase in life. I am a 63 yrs. old single woman of Dominican descent, who raised two sons alone and now is my time to be in the butterfly era. I still have no clue when I will retire. I am just enjoying my life! And I'm saving, also trying to pay my house mortgage in full and investing. Thank you for speaking up about the privilege of aging. I agree with you about stereotype. I cannot engage in conversations about pain & discomforts because I am also living a full & purposeful life. I eat mostly wholefoods and workout daily, I feel great. My life has never been better.❤❤
Hey Lisette, fellow 54y.o/ soon to be 55. So nice to meet someone else owning aging gracefully and boldly. I’m still jumping double Dutch and roller skating! Ain’t no BINGO over here! lol
@Yolanda-lr4pq Happy soon to be Birthday! Gracefully & boldly -- YESS! Love that. In junior high and high school we would hurry up to eat our lunch to get to the gym to use up the rest of our time jumping double dutch! The fun and the laughs. I wish I could remember some of the songs that we would sing while jumping. I am going to need to all one of my girlfriends to see if she remembers. I haven't done it in over 35 years and not even sure I could but would sure enjoy making a complete fool of myself in the process just for the sake of bringing back memories. Thank you for letting me walk down memory lane * for your sweet comment. I appreciate your support. ♥
@@LifewithLissetteAs a young boy I learned an old saying: "He who trims himself to suit others will soon whittle himself away!". At 61, I'm proud to have lived accordingly. Continue to stand strong and be an inspirational blessing to the generations behind you, my beautiful QUEEN! God bless you!❤🙏
God Definitely Led Me 2 Your Channel because I’m about to be 49 and I’m Now Eligible For Retirement from The NYC Department of Sanitation and most of the newer people at my job seem so overly concerned about when I’m going to retire. Mind you the OGs that came before me did 25-27 years walked off the job looking great and are still in good health. I’m definitely going to use your rebuttal every time someone asks me that because they’ve never heard me complain about my job… I love what I do and I take pride in it. You also look amazing at 54 *with all due respect to your husband. Keep coming with the good content… instantly subscribed and liked from about a minute in.
I plan to retire early because i want to be in control of my life. My debt will be paid off next year at 49. Goal is to retire at 55 and just spend that time doing things i enjoy. People retire early for different reason aside from being old. I also don’t focus on trends anymore but i still want to look nice.
YESSS! This is so inspiriting. How amazing. I am so happy for you. I wish I knew at 49 what I know at 54 but it's never too late. Thank you for your comment & support. ♥
I’m 50 and fully agree with u! When I turned 45 or 46 I decided I am no longer going to do anything that I don’t want to do. My children were grown they’re still grown and I am just doing what I want to do. I’m not married any longer. I don’t have a boyfriend. I’m not dating. I’m just letting God guide me and I’m doing what I want to do. I love it. I feel like I don’t know. I can’t explain it. I just feel like I literally am going and have been telling friends, family people the truth when I don’t wanna do something. I don’t make excuses why I can’t come to their house party or go with them to an event. If I don’t wanna go, I just say I don’t feel like going. It makes me feel better inside to be truthful to myselfand to them. So there’s many things that I’m not going to do that. I’ve decided I’m not going to be complicit for anyone. I love your video.
Yessss!!! Reading your comment filled my heart with excitement because there is no better feeling than living your truth!!! Too often we get caught in making others happy and saying yes to others and we forget to say yes to ourselves. I can totally relate. You are not alone in this. I was around 50 as well when it all started to click. You can still love your friends and family but I’m happy that you are putting yourself first by loving & respecting your own decisions. It is liberating when you realize that doing what you want to do is ok! I love all of this for you. Thank you for sharing!!! I appreciate your support. 🦋
Amen!! Living an honest and authentic life is the most healthy, freeing and peaceful way to live. I refuse to say even little white lies. Recently, I wanted to back out of some plans I made, someone suggested I make up an excuse… which to me is a lie. I finally had the courage to say the truth, that I wouldn’t be going along, as originally planned. We get to change our minds as well, without feeling guilty. It’s a great way to live. God is great and at the end of the day, we answer only to Him. God please bless everyone here!!❤
@ you are 100% correct. It’s ok to say no!! Thank you for your continued prayers and blessings over all of us. It is needed and appreciated. And of course, thank you for your support. 🦋
I am almost 43 and pretty much agree with you. I stopped going places i don't want to go and am pretty good about only buying things that i know i will actually use, wear, or eat. I only buy clothes and shoes when the ones i wear to work are worn out.
I love this video because I'm 57 and I love my life! It's simple; I'm financially independent and I can do whatever I like now; I don't need a lot of friends or the need to keep up with society norms! I feel beautiful and loved and I'm happy now! I'm retired and very happy at 57 and I still feel young! I chose to retire at 50! I like doing nothing or doing whatever I want! Traveling, walking for hours; just doing me! Life is so good at 57❤❤❤
Happy 57th Birthday to you! I love all of this for you! Focusing on what makes you happy and brings you joy is the only thing that matters and it seems as though you are doing all of that! I am so happy for you. Thank you for sharing and for your support 🦋
I’m 44 and I thoroughly enjoyed this video & your points! 👏🏾 BTW - I’ve been a real estate agent for 14 years. 55+ communities are the same, if not more $ than regular homes. It’s for some, but not for all.
Since retiring much of society really seems insane to me. I feel so sorry for all those people so stressed and angry, rushing around. I like to sit and look at the clouds, and I feel happy. I think about poetry, philosophy. I read paper books and feel a great urge towards simplicity. This is wisdom, we are finding. 😊
Your introduction fit: other people don't know us, just know about us, superficial things. And you're so right about fashion: nothing's new, just recycled ideas.
Love all this!! I would add that, as a retired woman now living overseas, there’s also the stigma of “Well do you just sit around all day now? How are you contributing to society?” And my answer is that my life is full of everything I want it to be. I have time to enjoy hiking the beautiful cliff beaches where I live and to listen to the gulls overhead and feel the wind on my face. I volunteer and read and and crochet things for my granddaughter and have meaningful conversations with my husband and friends and family and strangers. I take care of myself, I laugh a lot and explore. Life is pretty damn good and I’m finally learning not to care what others think. Thank you!! ❤
This whole entire comment made me smile. I find those questions even funnier when it comes from folks that don’t contrite to society in any way. I love that you are doing all of the things that make you happy and bring you joy. No explanations or reasons required. Why can’t we just be happy for others doing things in their life that is fulfilling and abundant??? Know that I’m super happy form you and wish you all the best!! Thank you for this beautiful comment and your support. 🦋
This is sooooooo good ! no I won't downsize, and no I won't retire until I'm ready and YES Ive always dressed for me ! I tell people " I don't know the style" " I dress on what I want to wear" I do get eyes on me and compliments. Just do you ! I'm gooooood with me ! and all of my blessings are in the palms of my hands.
Reading this made me smile and teary eyes. I love that you do what makes you happy and brings you joy. That is all that matters. Thank you for watching. I appreciate your suppprt. 🦋

Im so proud that 50+ woman conquer UA-cam, we have so much to learn from you all, I never click and abo a UA-cam channel so fast like mature woman sharing wisdom. Love, Emi🕊️
I am 53yo, and I have always been like this...( not thinking about what others feel I should wear, or do with my life & my money, etc.) My decision and my life to decide.
58 here and I APPROVE of this message 1000%!! Our son is 33 and has his own family. They also live out of town, but we get our grand-daughter one week out of every month. Now it's time for us to live. Even though we were blessed enough to be mortgage free, we both still GLADLY work and can actually retire, but why? I have a good job making good money and have been working from home since 2010. My husband is actually retired Military, but still choose to work a fulltime job because we can. Plus, in this economy, any extra coins is always good. Especially if you CAN still earn a living physically and mentally. A lot of this foolery with some of this younger generation......NOT ALL....is just ludicrous. I actually know quite a few young folks that are still hard workers, respectful, mindful and just great young people, whom I very proud of.
I would not have been ready either at 55 to retire because like you I liked my job. But when you know that you know that's it's time to go, that's when you go. 😉 I retired a year ago at the age of 66, and haven't looked back. I'm now 67 (people don't believe I have a 48yo son) and thankfully I have good health, stays active, and enjoying life with my husband.😊
Congratulations on your retirement! I love that you did it when you were ready. That's amazing and I am so happy for you. Best of luck and blessings to you in this next chapter. Enjoy the journey. I appreciate your support. ♥
I love this! Im still in my 30s with no children nor do i plan on having any.. but no matter our age people seem to think women should be at a certain point like for me i should be married with children etc. Its so frustrating, i live how i want to live!!
Live your life as you see fit! I love that you figured this out and you're only 30. I finally started figuring things out in my 50s so you are far ahead of the game which is amazing. Thank you for your support. ♥
You're going to regret it .. because having children is a woman purpose being a grandmother is blessing to achieve once you get old in your 50s and 60s ...you need to reconsider by not having children .
Who's going to regret it? All things can be true without one being more important than the other. Having children is a personal choice. We don't know the full story or the reasons why someone does not have children. Let's embrace folks where they are and respect the decisions that they have made for their own lives. Let's just be happy for each other & lift each other up. That is the goal of my channel. Thank you for understanding. ♥
@@zyajones9360 being a woman is a woman's purpose and that can look a million ways. don't project onto people it's not a good timeless comfortable look ;)
Do not listen to anyone who tells you that you will regret not having children! It makes no sense for someone who has children to say you'll regret not having any. How do they know? Because they have them? That's about the same as someone without kids telling ppl they'll regret having kids. I know women who are over 70 that do not regret not having kids. I think sometimes when ppl say stuff like zyajones did, it is because they are not happy with their lives and although they may not realize it, they want everyone to go through what they did. She sounds really bitter actually. I'm glad to be here but my mother should not have had children and I think she would have been happier if she hadn't. She physically abused me my entire childhood and even hit me in the face once after I was an adult. It's more complicated than being told you should have children because you are female. Sorry for the long rant but your choice is your choice and no one should shame you for it!
Good chat. I'm thriving at 65! I'm living my best life, too, though my definition included retiring early. Funny bit: Every time I talked to co-workers to say goodbye, they asked "What are you going to do?". At first, I was perplexed and had no answer. Isn't retirement about doing nothing? Finally, the answer came to me. I would tell them "I'm going to live.". You mention your place in life, and the years behind you. Feeling better than when you were twenty-five. I think that's about the confidence born of all life's experiences, including relationships, career and owning a home. It feels like we've been training all these years, and now have a certain calm clarity. We may not know all the answers, but there are far fewer open questions than when we were twenty-five! I feel secure, able to handle the challenges sent my way, and the freedom to pursue passions closest to my true self. The Me I'd always wished for me. Thanks for a post worth watching. Best of fortune to you.
This whole comment made me tear up and smile the whole time. There is so much truth here and you said it eloquently and perfectly, especially the part about we have been in training for most of our lives. That is so true. I am so happy for you and that you are living the life you curated and created unique for YOU. Keep dreaming and living. All the best to you as well. 🦋🦋🦋
Love this, I'm 64! When people ask me what I'm doing now I say, "Whatever I want!" And sometimes my husband comments on my clothes are a little loud and I answer, "If ya can't be crazy on your way out, when can we?" LOL
I love your spirit and your attitude. Do and wear whatever makes your happy & brings you joy. Keep doing YOU! Thank you for making me laugh and for your support. ♥
Thank you! I needed to hear as a little reminder as I’m getting ready for work..at 59 …im typically wearing jeans…vee neck tees…Keds sneakers and usually a pony tail with minimal makeup. My uniform for two decades and I’m fine with it! I will be selling my paid for home for a much smaller home so I can spend more time having FUN and less time doing housework. I’m single though, so I do it all - inside and outside and it’s a lot. Also, I have a friend (65) who is a gem…but she has a terrible habit of noticing every woman…strangers…and noticing how “old they look”. I remind her gently “not everyone has Botox and fillers injected every 60 days (as she does). I don’t…I’m far more wrinkly than her…but that’s okay too! I don’t have a duckbill for an upper lip and a frozen face. I’m going to retire in a few years…but I’m sure I’ll work somewhere part time a few days a week. I’m happier now at 59 than at 35 because frankly, I’m doing ME and don’t give a rip what others think! It’s incredibly freeing! Thank you Lisette! You are beautiful and so smart! 😉💜
I am so happy for you!! Sounds like you how a solid plan and know exactly what you want. I wish you all the best. Thank you for such a thoughtful and long comment. Let’s continue to lift each other up!! Have a wonderful day. 🦋
As our days go by,we come to realise that we got one life to live,no experiments or trials.I enjoy my early 60's without taking in other people's opinions.
I am 44 and agree with every point you made especially the fashion trends. I never cared to keep up even in my 20s I wear what I like no matter how trendy it is.
Retirement in our 50s is absurd. I’m 56 and started my independent art career 4 years ago. I’m just getting started actually doing what I always wanted to do. And being an artist is the long game. I never want to stop making my art. I agree with you. I avoid the sun like the plague since my early 20s. The opposite of aging is dying young. It’s a blessing and a privilege to be alive and grow old.
It truly is a blessing and privilege. POWERFUL WORDS! Congratulations to you for starting your career doing something you love which is art! I can't draw to save my life. Stick figures is the best I can do so I admire you for being able to express yourself thru art. Have you considered starting a channel that teaches others basic drawing techniques? If so, I will surely subscribe because I can use a little help. Thank you for your thoughtful comment and your support. ♥
I just found your channel, actually just finished the one where you lost your job, and bounced back. I really appreciate you sharing; I’ll be watching as much of your videos today before I go to a work that’s giving me anxiety, but I’m grateful.
Thank you so much for watching. Give yourself a pep talk on your way to work, focus only on what you can control and don’t let the energy vampires steal your joy. Chin up. You got this. I appreciate your support. 🦋
I am 50! I do my own thing. Keeping up with the trends will break your pockets.Vintage with a little modern or contemporary. I dress how I feel about me. I’ve wasted a lot of time and money on clothes for what? I too live out of town. I get my granddaughter every year. I am grateful! to be able to do that. I work a full time job and I sale high end and vintage clothing. My oldest is 29 and I have twins in High school. Our interest on our townhouse is 3% we’re not going anywhere now . All Praises to the Most High God. Thanks for sharing Sis❤❤❤!
Yes sis! I love all of this for you! I don't blame you for staying in your townhome. 3% is NOTHING compared to today's market. Kudos to you for all that you have accomplished and keeping your eyes on the prize. We have better things to do with our time and money! Keep shining & stay blessed. I appreciate your support. Hi from the UK - I loved this because you are bang on right. I am 10 years ahead of you and your values are my values and I am 'thriving' too. I do finish work next year but have my projects ready and will never be bored because - only boring people get bored. I am loving this chapter of life, adult kids, self care and the wisdom this wonderful chapter in life has to offer me. Enjoy my lovely. xx
Hello from the beautiful UK! It is on my bucket list for travels and I can’t wait. If you have any suggestions of places to go and where to stay, please send them along. Team 50’s here, I was a tomboy when younger, and now that I’m older, I could care less what people think. No I don’t wear high-heel shoes, no I don’t care for fashion, a pair of jeans and a shirt is fine by me.
Even though I'm In my late 20s I enjoyed watching this video because of the authenticity of it. The more I simplify my life the more at peace I become and don't care about what others think.
I’m 54, soon to be 55 and I totally agree with you. Recently widowed and have decided that the next chapter of my life will be doing what is best for me and what I enjoy doing. I am going to live my best life with positive friends and family.
I am sorry for your loss and happy to hear that you are using this time to focus on you by doing things that you love and bring you joy. That is the ultimate goal. Thank you for watching. I appreciate your support. 🦋
Thank you for this video. I have been feeling overwhelmed by the opinions of others and tired of fighting against them. Even just watching your opening segment was soothing to me, knowing I don't need to care about these 'others' or let their noise affect me. I'm so pleased your channel was recommended to me 🥰

@@LifewithLissette Thank you so much for your response, it has made my day! Your voice is truly one of the most positive and inspiring I've come across on UA-cam, keep doing what you're doing! x
I so much agree with everything you said. Do you! Embracing who I am and where I wanna be in life is important and a part of self care! I've raised one and have another (16) I'm taking care of, but our kids, they know we love them and can call if they need us, but it's time to shift my focus on me and what I want & need as a 53yo woman. I'm not old, but older, wiser, and living my best life. And I will love again..I refuse to believe that I can't fall in love & remarry at my age. But Im not desperate or in a rush either, when it's time it will happen. Nor do I need to date men my age! I can date any adult who respects and makes me happy ❤ Thank you for this video Sis, if was just the reminder, I needed to keep being and doing me. I'm looking forward to more conversations and support like this!
Thank you for sharing your story. It is importsnt that we take care of ourselves and do what makes us happy. We can’t fill from an empty cup so making sure that we do things that gives us joy is essential. I am so happy that you are doing all of the above. Everything happens at the moment and time when we are ready to receive it whether it be a relationship, a job or any kind of change for that matter. Self-care is NOT selfish. Keep going you. I appreciate your support. 🦋
Oh how nice! I wish I had that talent but I don't. That is sooo cool. Have you considered starting a channel sharing your creative process and some of your designs? I think that would make for great content! This is a great community that will support you. If you do start one, send me the link and I will subscribe. I appreciate your support. ♥
Love this video! I never really cared about fashion trends but did care about what others thought of me ( the choices i made etc...) . Now that im almost 40, my mindset is starting to shift, and i dont share much or solicit advice from others. Im learning to keep to myself and trust my intuition.
Your intuition is a beast. It speaks to us constantly. Doing what makes you happy and brings you joy is the goal. So happy that you are there!! Welcome to the club. I appreciate your support. 🦋
I didn’t always love my job. Will share more on that in a future video. I went thru a lot of heartache and lost so much time with my girls and family to then lose the job I had given so much of my life to, at 48 years old. I was devastated and hit rock bottom. That experience taught me so many invaluable lessons and propelled me to get laser focused on my worth, praying hard and being patient for the right job which is what landed me the job I have today. I hope this message gives you hope! Thank you for sharing and for your support. 🦋
Thank you so much. I agree with you, the older I get, the wiser and more content I get with my life. I thank God for everything. Greetings from Germany.
OMG -- Germany!! My daughter majored in German in college, with a second major in Global Studies. She speaks 6 languages although she started with Spanish & English, she also speaks German, French, Italian & a little Portuguese. How exciting! UA-cam is such an amazing tool to connect with people from all over the world. I am still amazed. I too am thankful to God for all things! I appreciate your comment & support! ♥
AMEN and AMEN 🙏🏽! I’m so impressed with your courage and modeling kindness to yourself. I’ve been on the exact same journey, sun protection, water intake, clean food, movement, hobbies and yes, continuing to work! I’m 57 and I’m just now in my prime 🙌🏽
You are most definitely in your prime. Happy that you are taking care of yourself in every way. Thank you for this lovely comment. I appreciate your support. ♥
I get it!! I will often say, "I'm not complaining so why are you"??? And now that I'm retired, depending on what is said I sometimes respond with, "I'm retired, so it's not required".
Hi Lissette! I'm 55, and I was just talking about these very things with a friend who was upset about some comments said to her at the hairdresser. Why do people feel so free to comment or pass their own judgements onto us when they don't even know us? Once I passed 50, I started to answer people "Well, thank you for your opinion", and I walk away.
Omg. I love that. Need to keep that one in my arsenal of responses. I couldn’t agree with you more. Let’s lift and accept each other at whatever phase we are in our lives. The nerve of some people!!! 🦋
I really enjoy grandkids too, but luckily like you, they're the icing on the cake. I don't have to watch them at all if I can't or have something else going on. I've had friends strapped in their retirement for 10 years taking care of their grandkids. I couldn't do it. It's time to live on OUR terms. We've been putting other's first for so many decades. Good for you on your mortgage! My biggest debt, if you can call it that, is my property taxes at a whopping 600.00 per month! I think about moving someplace cheaper but there's negatives to that too. I spend my days going to exercise classes, going for walks, cooking leisurely, and other self care things. I'm excited for you!
I LOVE all of this, for you and for me! You are one busy bee which is good for your mental & physical health so keep up the good work. And you are right...I don't ever want to be strapped taking care of my grand-daughter. We are in our prime and deserve to enjoy life. Continue to do the things that you love and bring you joy. You are at the beginning of a life well lived! I'm so happy for you. I retired at 55, 12 years ago, & never looked back. And you look gorgeous! Go girl!👍
Thank you so much. We are thriving and I love that for us. Congratulations on your retirement!!! Living life fully present and happy. That is the goal. I appreciate your support. 🦋

Hi, I am very happy for you that you have found you!!!!! everyone has different circumstances in life as you would appreciate, some people are more fortunate than others too!!!!.....lets hope you continue to thrive and your health stays strong...none of us know what is around the corner.
You are correct...we don't know what is around the corner which pushed me to finally start this channel & cutting my hair and letting go of the fear that was holding me back. As a 50 something special needs mum in the UK I've spent my life being judged, still happening, but I'm at the point now of when they attack I attack back, sick of others who don't have the whole picture thinking they know best.
The UK??? Wow!! Thank you for watching and your comment. Hats off to you for being a great mum. Good for you for sticking up for yourself. I love that you feel empowered. Keep up the good work. Hola from the US!! 🦋
I completely agree. As for me, I am just now figuring this all out at 50. If you can do it sooner -- the better! I appreciate your comment & support! ♥

Hey Lissette! I am so happy to find you this morning. I just got off work from my 12 hour night shift. I’m 55. Going to another State this weekend to see my Daughter & 2 Grand Daughters as well as my Parents. I am taking most of my clothes with me & my Daughter is going to help me decide what to keep & what to donate. My wardrobe needs to be pared down so bad. So she’s happy to help me do it. Then back to work after a long weekend. And I’m going back to school to further my Nursing degree starting in January. I am scared to death & excited all at the same time. It’ll make the time that I actually CAN retire much more enjoyable. So it’s a no brainer. You are beautiful & I enjoyed hearing what you have to say. And girl you have GOOD genes! 😊New sub here!
Oh my goodness. This moved me deeply. Decluttering is liberating. It’s not easy but I have been a testament that getting rid of the old makes room for new things, people, opportunities, connections, etc. You should be so proud of yourself and congrats on pursuing an advanced degree in nursing. What an honorable job. Best of luck to you!!! 🦋
Young lady, you GO back to school, and pursue all that your heart desires. Be it education or whatever you choose. Your “mission,” if you choose to accept it ( remember the line from Mission Impossible? Lol), is to live your best life for you, without harm to others, with the knowledge that tomorrow is promised to no one. Go for it girlie!! And listen only to your heart, not what others think or want you to do. Your age has nothing to do with your passion for life. You got this. Now, go study them books❤❤❤. Wishing you all the best.
"You either have the genes or you don't"....that has always been my belief:) Aside from illness, medications, lifestyle choices...most of us will age similarly to our parents. Great video....new subbie:)
Thank you and welcome aboard! I appreciate the support and love your comment. Lifestyle choices is paramount to living healthier and changing the narrative. 🦋
I retired at 58.. Best move i have ever made. I am single. I do me, live me, and please me...

Hi there, I’m at Level 58 and about to Retire (Lord Willing) in 6 months and i can’t wait. My Job is very toxic, and full of stress.
Rosie Perez vibes 👀
So funny, I just told my coworker today that I have no plans to retire. I’m your age and I don’t have any issues with my current job and it’s completely stress free. I make good money and I have a life outside of work. I enjoy the low cost health benefits, the funding of a pension and a generous 401k. So for now, I’m going to live in these blessings and continue with gratitude!
@@ArizonaLuxe EXACTLY!! Yes to all of the above. “Live in these blessings” - oh how I love that. I am with you 100%. 🦋
May I ask what you do for a living? I absolutely look forward to retiring because of how hideous my co-workers and bosses are.
@arizonaluxe our jobs sound very familiar except I am not in finance. It is refreshing to be in a role and with a company that I truly love. ♥
That's it!
1) Live the second chapter of your life with intention and purpose.
2) Take care of your health (mental, spiritual and physical)
3) Stay as active as possible
4) But don't feel guilty about doing nothing sometimes, or saying no.
5). If you can afford to, travel and see the world!
Great tips! 👍

All of this, yes!!!

Thank you for that additional confirmation. It is definitely not for us at this point in our lives.

Powerful words that are true and heartfelt. No experiment or trials - LOVE THAT. I appreciate your support. 🦋
I am 44 and agree with every point you made especially the fashion trends. I never cared to keep up even in my 20s I wear what I like no matter how trendy it is.
Isn't it so liberating? There is beauty in simplicity! ♥
@LifewithLissette Yes ma'am!
41. Same, I buy clothes I feel comfortable in, in multiple colours. Comfortable shoes only.
@@cpwwjd69 Yes comfort first!
Comfortable shoes are underrated!!! lol. Yes! I appreciate your support!!
Lisette I agree with you on living life your way and who cares what other’s think!!!❤❤❤
Riight!! Let’s all do more living!!! 🦋
I feel you as a 56 year old woman. This chapter is yet another new beginning for me. Loving it ❤
We are in our prime. I wish you the best in this new season. I appreciate your support. 🦋
Much love. ♥
My pleasure! Keep up the good work.
Timely needed video. Thanks for sharing and putting this out into the world.
Thank you so much for watching. I appreciate your support. 🦋
I am so happy for you that you are living & loving life on YOUR terms. You are doing things that bring you joy & make you happy which to me - is the ultimate goal! I love all of this for you!! I appreciate your support. 🦋
Omg!!! Glad I found you.... I needed to hear this... I really did.🥰
I am so happy we found each other and that this video resonate with you. Thank you for watching. I appreciate your support. 🦋
Team 50’s here, I was a tomboy when younger, and now that I’m older, I could care less what people think. No I don’t wear high-heel shoes, no I don’t care for fashion, a pair of jeans and a shirt is fine by me.
Awesome!! Living your life your way and don’t what makes you happy is the goal. I appreciate your support. 🦋
Even though I'm In my late 20s I enjoyed watching this video because of the authenticity of it. The more I simplify my life the more at peace I become and don't care about what others think.
There is beauty in simplicity. Thank you for watching. I appreciate your support. 🦋
You are so correct with the fashion statement...
Keep your clothes!!! lol Don't get rid of them. Thank you for your comment & support. ♥
Thanks for sharing ,such great wisdom . Beautifully said.
Thank you for watching!! I appreciate your support. 🦋
I am so thankful that YOU TOLD ALL TRUTHS , LOVE THIS MESSAGE
Such a sweet comment. I am so thankful for you as well. Thank you for your support. ♥
I'm so pleased your channel was recommended to me 🥰
Awwww!!! This comment has me tearing up I am happy we found each other. Focus your energy on what makes you happy and brings you joy. That is always the goal. Thank you for subscribing! I truly appreciate your support. 🦋
@@LifewithLissette Thank you so much for your response, it has made my day! Your voice is truly one of the most positive and inspiring I've come across on UA-cam, keep doing what you're doing! x
@@MsGoldilockz1984 that makes my heart happy. Keep shining!!! We are all in this together. 🦋
I can date any adult who respects and makes me happy ❤
Thank you for this video Sis, if was just the reminder, I needed to keep being and doing me.
Oh Lissette I am SO glad your video came up on my feed.
I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on life and just about everything!
I am so happy you found me too!! Welcome!! I appreciate your support. 🦋
I like your platform! I’m 53 and wear/create my own fashion trends!
Amen sister….so refreshing. Thx for posting.
Thank you for watching. I appreciate your support. 🦋
43 here, i refuse to give up my bell bottoms. Im trying to buy as many as possible 😊
@@JJ-jn7ei that's all I wear ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I love em'💗💗💗💕💕
Do whatever makes your heart happy! Go get those bell bottoms! LOL ♥
I love that for you! ♥
Same, when they are out of style you can always find them at western wear shops, sometimes labeled wide boot cut or flare.
Honey, I’m enjoying rocking wide leg flares. That whole 70’s vibe is my fave look of all time, so why not. ❤😍
Just be glad you enjoy your job! I don’t right now and it’s taking it’s toll on me.
Speak sister !!!!
Thank you sis. I appreciate your support. 🦋
you go girl! Love your decisions, You have to go within to find your answers
Doing the heart work was one of the beet decisions I made and it has served me well. Thank you for watching. I appreciate your support.
Yes!
Everything you say holds value.
I’m fifty-one and I’ve been feeling like that since my late 40’s.
You’re way ahead of me but so happy to live in this space of freedom to do and wear what I want!!! Cheers to us!! I appreciate your support. 🦋
Peace Lissette! Just subscribed! I'm 55 and I have enjoyed 3 of your videos already within an hour! You're refreshing and thank you for your energy!
Awww...thank you for watching my videos. That means the world to me. Thank you for watching. I appreciate your support. 🦋
I get it!! I will often say, "I'm not complaining so why are you"??? And now that I'm retired, depending on what is said I sometimes respond with, "I'm retired, so it's not required".
Congratulations on your retirement. It is definitely a personal choice and decision. Enjoy it to the fullest. 🦋
Timeless all my life! FIRST retiremen in 4 years. Next plan, who knows, but the option of not having to is priceless!
I love that for you. I am just learning this recently in the last few years and I am loving it. Better late than never. I appreciate your support. 🦋
Just found your channel. 👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I like this video. I'm a 62 yr male, retired and living my live unapologetically my way.
Amazing!!! Keep living your best life. Your support is appreciated.
Thank you for this beautiful comment and your support. ♥
I love how on UA-cam you can find this type of content that speaks to you!!
Awwww I am so happy we found each other. Thank you for watching. I appreciate your suppprt. 🦋

Thank you so much! WE are in our prime. Do what makes you happy. I appreciate your support. ♥
You are at the beginning of a life well lived! I'm so happy for you. I retired at 55, 12 years ago, & never looked back. And you look gorgeous! Go girl!👍

You have such a beautiful and high powering spirit! Some people are more worried about the next person lives than their own smh and always negative. Keep thriving continued success!
Thank you for these powerful words and for watching.
My goal is to continue to press forward, be grateful for each day and count my blessings in all things. Thank you for your comment & support. ♥
Girl this video for me going on 56 this Saturday is so 🔥 new sub loved it!!! ❤totally agree with most.
Happy Birthday to YOU!!! Thank you for watching. I appreciate your support. 🦋
As a 34 years old, others and people's opinions have never lived in my life since I can remember, I don't care...as long as it serves me, makes me happy that's all that matters... people's expectations have no room in my life ....
I wish I knew at 34 what I know now. Kudos to you for already figuring it out because you are ahead of most and that is amazing. Live life on YOUR terms. Thank you for your comment & support. ♥
I love your message. I think we should do this at any age not just in our 50's live our lives for us not for others.
I completely agree. As for me, I am just now figuring this all out at 50. If you can do it sooner -- the better! I appreciate your comment & support! ♥
All facts ❤💪🏾❤️ I'm 54 soon to be 55...this is so refreshing🥰🙏🏾 Say all of that...I concur!

Aww. Well that’s because we are. There’s a whole community of us out here supporting each other. I love that for us! Thank you for your comment and support. 🦋
@ thank you! That is so sweet.😊
I love this and agree 100%! @pamengland7863 Go pursue your dreams and create the life you want to have. Best of luck! ♥
@ You are most welcome ♥️
Absolutely 💯 💯 💯 ❤❤ You better know it!!
100%!!! I appreciate your support. 🦋
You're an amazing motivational speaker!
Thank you for that sweet comment. It brought a smile to my face. ♥
Speaking as a man that just hit 50 I can appreciate your mindset keep pushing forward with your plans enjoy your life no regrets
Happy Birthday to you. Thank you for watching. I appreciate your support. 🦋
