I was so thankful to be put on Tamsulosin. It worked right away with very little side effects. I was very relieved and thankful for the immediate results. Very important for me to do a lot of walking, to be up and active keeps me normal during the day. I do get some light headedness if I cough too hard and long or when I stand up too quickly, not very often. It seems if I drink more than 3 or 4 cups of coffee or if I have too much sugar, or lack exercise, I will have difficulty urinating a good stream but have to take 2, 3 attempts to pee which come on very urgently after the first attempt. I have made changes, take tamsulosin at night, monitor the coffee, stay away from sweets and do a lot of walking and stay active. Works well.
Thank you for your good presentation and explanation. Since I just started tamsulosin 0.4 mg. I had my first dose after dinner last night . I was unable to sleep immediately. But then slept well. I reduced some of my high blood pressure medicines which I take in the morning after breakfast meal. I checked my presssure and it was normal range 117/79. the pulse was 97. The pressure medication is nifedipine Er 50 mg. I stopped it today morning. I did take losartsn hctz 50/12.5 mg tablets i took 1 instead of two to prevent my pressure to drop too down. I made my own decision because unable to get a appointment or call a doctor. Not much good doctors.here in Florida. Most are nurse practioners. So i dont get a appointment. I hope it works from my slightly enlarged prostate. And I hope myy psa level will drop as it was 5.4 last month. Abnormal range. And it bothers me. As I dont want to do a biopsy and it was not recommended. Also I am 68 years old I dont like surgeries. I hope it works out with this medication. Let me know any advise about the blood pressure medication. Thank you.

My doctor said Flomax is one of those meds that you can take and switch back and forth between taking and not taking for a while. I took it for a few days (about a week) in Oct. 2023. It never did slow down the frequency of urination so I stopped taking it. Then on June 9 this year I took 1 tablet after breakfast because I was beginning to see consistently poor urine flow. The next day, June 10th, I took another tablet around 9:00 A.M. because you are supposed to take it around the same time each day. But this time I took it on an empty stomach because I had a 10:00 A.M. breakfast meeting which I did keep. At 1:00 that afternoon, I passed out with no warning, no feeling of dizziness or feeling lightheaded. Fortunately I was inside a post office. Had I passed out 10 minutes earlier, I would have been driving on a California freeway at 70 mph. I do not trust Flomax anymore even though I should have taken it after a meal on the 2nd day.
Me also. I take Tamsulosin and experience some temporary dizziness when standing and also ejection problems, but also in a long term sexless marriage so not a noticeable problem.

On the same visit to my doctor last week, I was prescribed sildenafil for e.d., to be taken without delay AND tamsulosin for peeing issues, starting in two weeks time. My concern is that the tamsulosin will cancel out the desired effect of the sildenafil, because it causes e.d?

I take flomax only when I need it. I have experienced headaches like a quick sharp pain top of my head I take it without food early in the morning. I heard about the side effects when I first started taking flomax about 3 years ago I like taking natural supplements I quit flomax for six months had no problem urinary flow was great after awhile my urinary flow started slowing so I started taking flomax when my urinary flow slows down!
I am now taking natural vitamins which has saw palmetto and a lot of important vitamins in it for the prostate I’ve been on tamulosin for many years and want to get off them as I still have a large prostate and it does affect erections. Do I have to gradually get off them or can I just stop them? Also in the meantime, can I take both together?

My husband passed out 3 times from taking Flomax, his doctor insisted he keep taking it but she’s not here to try and get him off the floor! I threw them away.
I took my second dose last night with no food. I woke up with the worst eye pain/headache. I was up from 0000-0530 and could not go back to sleep. My eyes felt swollen and painful and the headache was right behind my eyes and moved into my sinuses and I could barely breathe and I was dizzy. I realize that I should have taken it with food, but I won't take it again. That was really weird.
I have bean on Tamsulosin 400mg in the morning and Finasteride 5mg in the evening,I aso gave up up Alcohol and havant noticed any improvement. I now tend to go to bed at 2am and only need too get up maybe twice. I have been on them both for over two years. Might help if I switch them round? Regards Dave in the UK.👍👍.

Started on Flomax and deutasteride. 68 yrs. old. Rapid heart beat and dizzyness whehamacyn standing up. Runny nose and ear problems. Left breast became extremely sore also pain in the neck beside windpipe not like a normal sore throat. Tiredness more than normal. Stopped deutasteride totally breast pain and sore neck stopped. Now taking Flomax .4mg once a day. Going to start every second day soon and then quit. Now there is a shortage of flo max at our pharmacy only can get 2 weeks worth per visit. I would rather piss my pants or do the green light laser than fill my body with this poison. Fuck big pharma.

I've had TURP sugery, maybe 2006 or 07, necessary but didn't fix the problem, need to straight cath most of time. Ultimately diagnosed with neurogenic bladder - usually have little or no feeling to urinate yet volume on straight cath might produce 1000 ml. Chronic UTIs. Is flowmax advisable for this since I have no urge ? Just have to depend on timing every 4-6 hours. Also on Lasix.

IMHO sugar is creating all types of medical problems for people, I avoid it, as much as possible.

I quit taking it after a week when i experience a side effects like leg crumps on both legs.
I also used tamsulosin for 40 days and stopped using it, but my head still hurts and my blood pressure went up.

I have Been om flomax abou 8 ears - is it ok to take Sildenafil ones a week ?

If you do not take with food peak blood levels can jump 50% or more.
I am on Tamsulosin for (3) yrs now and PSA is still reading 17 from the last lab test done, what do you suggest, Dr recommended a biopsy
