Old lady from the UK here, when my husband and I hadn't been married for very long he always asked me what I would like for my gifts, birthday, Christmas etc. It used to annoy me a little so I asked him to channel his romantic side and surprise me. The poor love spent an entire day without a clue, what I got was a figurine of an old man sitting on a bench looking sad. I asked him why this, and he said that was how he would look without me. I'm 77 now and my beloved has passed on but I still have my little old man on his bench.

N and J, Bucks Fizz were/are a British vocal pop group consisting of two men and two women, and won the Eurovision Song Contest (a painful annual torture we have to go through) in 1981 with a song called "Making Your Mind Up." The performance routine involved both the women wearing below the knee skirts, and then at one point during the song both the men simultaneously grabbed the women's skirts and yanked them off - revealing much shorter skirts. It was probably the money shot that "sealed the deal" with the watching judges. That was what Sarah was referring to.
We didn't have much choice about watching the Eurovision considering how few channels there were back then. Now there's loads of channels and people still choose to watch it.

One of Britain's funniest women is our Sarah she's also married to the brilliant Gary Delaney who's equally worth checking out! I'm surprised peeps in the US don't need subtitles to understand Sarah's broad Geordie accent!
You can wear bins, 'bins' this expression is the cockney rhyming slang for glasses, as in reading glasses, so if someone is having trouble looking up a number in a telephone book you might say put on your 'bins'.
Sarah is very good at using everyday things in her comedy .

Bins is just the start, you'll be speaking proper English in no time 😁 Cant say I enjoy Sarah Millican's humour, she relies too much on jokes about bodily functions a lot like Amy Schumer, it seems to be a commonalty of female stand up comedians.
If a guy started lighting candles and doing all that nonsense, it would only turn the woman off.
