A-Train in both versions is insecure about something. In the TV series, he's determined to remain the fastest man alive at all costs even if that means casualties occur. In the comics, his powers aren't considered very useful in the Seven, hence he attempts to compensate and make himself feel more powerful by sexually harassing Starlight.
A-Train in the show is addicted to money and fame, risks his health to stay on top, causing several tragic deaths in process, and in the end it all was practically for nothing. There's certain tragic element to his story, even though it's hard to sympathize with a murderer.
I think Homelander in the show is scary as shit. Like, yeah, Homelander in the comics is sociopathic, but he's also quite petty. The sociopathy he has in the show is downright scary. He's not only wielding physical omnipotence, but he also shows political and diplomatic cunning. Like, the Homelander in the show *could outsmart Butcher*. That's eerie.

Honestly, that's how most of the supes are in the show. They did a good job making pretty much every single character realistic and sympathetic way, while never excusing their behavior.
No. In the series they made him sympathetic by giving him the sideplot of him being an aging athlete and the need to be the best and yadda yadda, but he's NOT a good person, even putting his ego (more a desire to always stay on top, like every athlete) to a side. He never felt responsable for the death of Robin, he laughs about having gulped one of her teeth while killing her, he laughs about Hughie having been a fan of him, he's not capable of assuming his responsabilty about killing Popclaw. I don't think villains need to be likable or relatable. It seems to be a modern trope that every villain has to "nearly be a hero if you look at them a certain way". Most of the best villains aren't even nearly relatable.
The point of villains is to elicit an emotional response from opposing the heroes - that tends to be easier if you're invested in the villain and are drawn to root for them, only for them to betray and disappoint you as much as they do characters in-universe.
People complain about character redesign cause most of them are lazy and done to push diversity in a non-logical manner. This show is the proof that they can be done well and if done well, people will be ok with them. Dismissing peoples critique by just saying they're babies is ridiculous and this attitude will just encourage writers being lazy.
This is great coverage. I'm also interested in why they race sawpped A Train and The Deep. I'm not mad about it. I saw the show before I saw them in the book.
Frenchie is for sure my favorite. Their is just something so lovable about him, plus I love Europe and plan to live there one day (Germany tho, not france) and I think that nostelgic bit of me that yearns to be back in Europe really latched on to Frenchie
Great video mate, hot into The Boys really late so it's been fun seeing how different the stories are. And also just a heads up. Glasgow is pronounced as Glas-go :)
My favorite character of the seven in lamplighter because I think the show can bring the show true potential and I want to see him fight cyborg from the justic league
It feels like in recent episodes A-Train might actually rebel against Vought because his brother was crippled by a fellow Supe. Would go a long way from the apathetic monster he was in Season One, which wasn't far from his comic book self.
I like how theres a hole in his mask to make it look like an "A" because Vought likes to make their naming (black noir is literally black black because Noir is french for black) and clearly costume designs. E
Funny how UA-camrs are surprised that there are writers on million dollar TV shows that can write better than low rent comic book writers. The scary part is they are usually right about how bad over paid TV writers are...
My favorite character is black noir. Probably because he reminds me of snake eyes from GI Joe but also because he is absolutely silent yet deadly. He also shows that he has a little bit of a heart at some level.
I still don’t like A train but my god does the show know how to make you feel bad or even sympathize with him. There are honest times where I think he has a chance of being redeemed but I still don’t excuse him outing supersonic and killing Robin
Well You're Somewhat Right about A-Train's Origin. He is actually Stated to be a Member of One of the 3rd tier Teams, One of the Teen Ones if I Remember.
All the boys in the comics have been altered by compound V. They are a super team who don't wear costumes. They are stronger than most supers in the world but not as strong as the 7
The Boys show is one of the best in how you properly change someone's race, gender, sex, etc. They were changed for the better, they added to the show, added to the character, made it make sense, they didn't just have them change skin(Iris from Flash) and make it deff about pandering.
Amazon Prime a train is a ton better same with Amazon the deep and in my honest opinion Amazon Homelander they did such a great job with the characters you almost forget who the bad guys are like I caught myself rooting for Homelander a ton of times and even sympathizing with him with the blanket and the room he grew up with great show can't wait for season 2

0:05 that’s cool they turned those vapor max into some boot looking thing.
My favorite character of The Boys is Billy Butcher bc he’s awesome and badass!
Noice
This is great coverage.
I'm also interested in why they race sawpped A Train and The Deep.
I'm not mad about it.
I saw the show before I saw them in the book.
Im excited on how they will handle billy taking in the fact his wife is still alive
Black noir is more of a silent and mute type and that’s why I like that character
I hated A train in the show until the season 2 season finally.
6:48 damn, hughie has some super power :P
Frenchie is for sure my favorite. Their is just something so lovable about him, plus I love Europe and plan to live there one day (Germany tho, not france) and I think that nostelgic bit of me that yearns to be back in Europe really latched on to Frenchie
I’m excited for how they’re going to tackle Butcher’s final master plan. My favourite member is Butcher and my favourite character is the Homelander.
bro said glosscow
love the name A-Train
Damn. What does Falcon need wings for if he can run fast anyway
It's not Falcon as much as they look the same. He's like the flash but a shit head...
They are the Justice League of shit heads...
I also thought he looks like Falcon.
Adam Sifford that about sums it up
The Temp V answered multiple questions I had about them capturing/killing A-Train in this video hahaha
You know. I think the Amazon live action actors look a lot better than the comic counter parts. Billy Butcher and Black Noir especially
Great video mate, hot into The Boys really late so it's been fun seeing how different the stories are.
And also just a heads up. Glasgow is pronounced as Glas-go :)
A-Train in the series is a relatable and conflicted character. The actor is very good.
Black Noir doesn't get a lot of panels/ scenes but even before his origins are discovered, he proves that he is one seriously badass mofo
They may be scared of home lander, but Batman won’t be scared.
The way you said Glasgow made me want to cry 😂
Hugh because he is Scottish, and I am Scottish so we have a wee bit in common
This comment is even more fitting since his name is Wee Hughie.
A-Train no diffs comic A-Train
Still wouldn't mind Amazon killing off A-train in the show
I like how theres a hole in his mask to make it look like an "A" because Vought likes to make their naming (black noir is literally black black because Noir is french for black) and clearly costume designs.
A Train & The Deep are my favorites of The Seven from the show.
I think homelander and a train look awesome in both comic and show
Well You're Somewhat Right about A-Train's Origin. He is actually Stated to be a Member of One of the 3rd tier Teams, One of the Teen Ones if I Remember.
"Glass Cow, Scotland"
If I were ever given a chance to choose my own super power it would either be super speed or the ability to control time.
How about both
How in the hell did hughie kick a trains head off lol
In the comics all of the boyz got super strength among other stuff
All the boys in the comics have been altered by compound V. They are a super team who don't wear costumes. They are stronger than most supers in the world but not as strong as the 7
It would be cool to see a animated series based on the actual comic book, I love the actual actors as well tho
2:50 I’m sorry but I can’t live knowing you’re pronouncing Glasgow “Gloss cow” it’s pronounced “Glaz-go”
I used to wish to be fast too, until I saw "Jumper". Teleportation is WAY more convenient.
Great review.
6:49 That's one helluva kick!
The Boys show is one of the best in how you properly change someone's race, gender, sex, etc. They were changed for the better, they added to the show, added to the character, made it make sense, they didn't just have them change skin(Iris from Flash) and make it deff about pandering.
God damn I love these videos. Been subscribed a while now keep up the good work !
Glasgow is pronounced 'Glazzgo' not 'Glossgow' but otherwise great video
I agree he is way better in the show I actually felt bad for him on the last episode having a breakdown about Popclaw being something he cant accept.
New a train look better
Another cool thing about A-Train is that he also has super strength now that is awesome 💯
My favorite character is homelander because of the scene on the plane when he describes how he couldnt fly a plane by grabing the bottom of it.
A-Train sounds like the blackest superhero name ever, he delivers drugs, and he runs fast - of course people didn't complain that they made him black.
Tf
@@Dreyz-pg2zz Telling it like it is. All he needs is a fake hate crime and he'll be the perfect POS black celebrity.
Love the zombie lamplighter. Tv shows Popclaw I enjoy too, and Atrains having to deal with her
Hey there :) Why is there no mention of him being race swapped, like you made a big point of in the "the deep" video?
Why do you care?
@@KeyIssues Way to answer the question 👍🏼
@@Pete81no He ain't wrong
2:53 I'm sorry but that is the funniest way I've ever heard someone pronounce Glasgow. It's supposed to be "Glaz-goh" not "Gloss-gow" lol.
