- LA PINE, Oregon - Most folks in eastern Oregon will tell you there are really two Oregons: a mostly liberal western Oregon and mostly conservative eastern Oregon. These two regions are separated by much more than the majestic Cascade Mountain range.
Western Oregon is dominated by Portland, an urban bastion of progressive policy that prides itself on being "weird." Portland is also plagued by epidemic levels of crime, drug abuse, homelessness, and mental illness.
Because of its large population, Portland drives state politics. Portland's leaders have become state leaders and Portland's progressive policies have become state policies. That's resulted in drug legalization, gun control, and other progressive laws being forced on the very conservative communities of rural, eastern Oregon.

I live in Brownsville Oregon, believe me ,you are not the only people that are not happy! Portland is like an infection! Look who our Governor is!? She won't listen. She does not have your views. It's very frustrating, my husband and I wanted to retire here, but we are rethinking this idea.
Because soros runs these immoral female governors
Blue states with higher taxes are not good places to retire.
My wife and I are selling our Los Angeles home and moving to ???
She us a B.....
And that’s why I left California!
Same in Washington...
I am with you there.
If that fails, then petition for a separate state.
Which would also almost certainly fail
Even harder. moving borders is much easier than founding a state.
I have been having difficulties with my marriage for sometimes now but with the help of this Sorceress, I have been able to put my marriage back together.
@caseymuller3480 Her name is Luana Kae Branigan.
Sorcerey will not work in a relationship.
Washington state has the same problem. Seattle, Pierce and King counties and the cesspool that is Olympia are killing the state.
So True.
Yep many states smh like NC the state is majority red besides the cesspools in blue cities like charlotte & Fayetteville and Durham.. it’s crazy when you look at these states and see all the red and a few blue botches which can ruin everything bc it isn’t like it use to be where you had democrats and republicans bc now it’s basically left vs right with the left being very radical and extreme with craziness that makes you wonder what happened to our beautiful country and then you got the right which is loving family folks that work hard for their stuff and believe in god and their rights that our country gave us
Yes! We in Eastern WA would love this for our state, too.
But the Spokane Metro area has over 450,000 people. Add that to Yakima's population, Wenatchee, Walla Walla. Pullman, and Moses Lake and you have a much bigger population than eastern Oregon.
Not much more than Boise is killing rural Idaho. Boise wants the move. Think!!!!!! Why would Boise and CDA be in favor of the move and not rural Idaho. Surely you people are smart enough to figure that out.
😂I would sell and leave SoCal for Bigfoot country.
This is the best solution to keep America united ironically.
I mean yea but like this would just start a massive reshuffling of the entire map of America because if one state gets away with it the rest of the states will do it
It’s the political equivalent of a spoiled kid grabbing his ball and storming off the playground while shouting he’s not going to play with you anymore
By destroying Idaho?? Hardly!
@@user-sk7zc1fc5u Destroying idaho? That's a stupid thought. Land is extremely valuable.
How does Idaho come out ahead by having more Oregon desert land and having to build more infrastructure to make eastern Oregon more livable? Idaho used to be just conservative, but now more move-ins seem to be Conservative Christian Nationalists like most who are in north Idaho. We need less hate not more. And with a much bigger state and more move to Idaho advertising we will get more hate. When I moved to Idaho from Washington, I sold my place there and moved. I didn't start a movement to have Idaho expanded into what I didn't like in Washington. Oregonians can sell their land and just move here, like I did. I left a Washington island because of the changes Californians brought in but that same kind of change is what will destroy the Idaho I love.
please don't change the borders and just fight for your own state who's to say that Idaho's going to stay red forever

Go to Oregon. Idaho only gains conservative votes, but not good land.

I didn't join a movement to try to get Washington to be part of Canada or Idaho. Why can't you do that? I'm not fond of the rise of conservative Christian nationalism in North Idaho, but as long as that faction doesn't come to where I live, I'm OK. I'm neither a Christian or a conservative, but so far I can be left alone in Idaho.
@@user-sk7zc1fc5u well I’m from Italy, I’m not from Oregon, I was just saying that since I like the nature but I don’t like the liberals of Oregon it would be perfect for me if Idaho would take in a part of Oregon so I’d get the best of both worlds if I moved there, it was just a thought
I hope and pray it happens because then there is a chance for Washington to do the same.
There is! You and Matt Shea can move to Idaho. boom.
What will you will all those immigrants in the Yakima Valley and around Wenatchee? And many are illegal. How can you be a conservative part of Idaho and keep them there?

A few minutes ago, while watching C-Span on a show about separation of church and state, a lady phoned in and said that she moved from Florida to Oregon because of the politics--the lack of separation of church and state in Florida. Now in all states we should have a separation of church and state. The Bible doesn't say we need to separate but the Constitution does. Do you want Idaho to be separate in that instance like Oregon? And if so will you try to get the capital of Greater Idaho to have the state join with the Christian church. There were callers asking about Christian nationalism and what it meant.
Oregon should not give up half the state for nothing. Wonder what a fair price would be to sell this land to Idaho?
Why join Idaho? Why not form their own state?
They’d be greatly dependent on federal money to survive. Well, there’s a lot of states out there already who get a big, big chunk of their revenue from the federal government.
It keeps down administrative and reorganization costs to join Idaho.
@@b_uppyNo it doesn't. It just shifts the burden of the amount of land mass and number of people being subjugated to another entity which will expand it's financial requirements to accommodate the increase. Oregon is experiencing the same injustice as Washington and California. It's the same injustice experienced by the original colonies. TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION.

Idaho gets by on a lot less because it's politicians tend to believe in less centralized government. It would be a huge savings for certain Washington, Oregon, and California county's taxpayers if they switched. They don't get the same services and state investment/funding that Portland, Seattle and San Francisco, LA, the state capitols, and a few other key cities get...
If this happens will move to Idaho

Same can be said for the state of Washington. Left on the west right on the east. They should become a separate state as well.
It's actually similar to CA too . . . coastal areas much more left leaning than a lot of other areas.
Actually it's the cities along the I-5 Corridor that are Lefty-loosy, and parts of Jeffco.
If grater Idaho happens I might move there, a conservative state in the cascades would be awesome
Property value would definitely increase.
Where in Idaho do you think you could live?
Old timers here don't like west coast conservatism. It isn't like what we had originally. But the same thing happened in Washington. Californians moved in and brought their culture with them.. A few hours ago in our local grocery store, that was the sentiment I heard from a lady in her 40's I guess. And then I talked to a lady, who family was at the center of the conservative movement here in the 80's and 90's and she felt the same way. I graduated from high school in Friday Harbor, Washington, in the early 60's and it was very similar then to Idaho in the early 90's --2015. So when you say you want conservatism, define your terms. At the rate things are changing, Our county should soon require a permit to build.
Everyone share it on Twitter
Curiously, La Pine is *also* plagued by drug addiction, homelessness and idiocy.
We don't need any more addiction in Idaho!!!
And LaPine is where the Greater Idaho website is funded. So there's that.
"Come out from among them and be ye separate."
"Touch not the unclean thing"... "a man's enemies shall be those of his own household"... This has been going on for many years.
May God be your shield and give you wisdom.
Which god?
Oregon has always been 2 states. Back before whites came, the Cascades divided nations. Why not join with East Washington to make a new state?

Eastern Washington isn't like eastern Oregon. Oregon doesn't bring a lot of money to the table like eastern Washington. A lot of industry is in eastern Washington. Idaho can have them. Portland is tired of paying for their drug treatment programs and welfare payments anyway.
well, ain't that stupid.
It is the idiologies and politics of Portland inhabitants at the expense of rural Oregon communities that has created the plight and despair of rural inhabitants, just as the metro areas of Washington and California have caused the despair of their rural inhabitants by depriveing them of the ability to earn a living through agriculture, mining, and other means that provide the resources for metro inhabitants to exist. Unneccessary and overreaching regulations like restricting water necessary for crops to grow under the guise of protecting some minor aquatic species, imposing prohibitive regulations on the production of fossil fuels that increase the cost of production and distribution, mandating shifts in transportation mechanisms that impose unsustainable demands on infrastructure, all so the inhabitants of metropolitan communities can feel self righteous about accomplishing some fictitious goal. This is the same arrogant self ritiousness imposed by european settlers on native american inhabitants. Is there any reason they shouldn't have been rebellious?
From Klamath County, this can’t happen fast enough!!! Support Greater Idaho it is Eastern Oregons only shot at life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness!!
I live on the oregon border to Idaho. Idahos personality sucks. I don't want to become part of Idaho. We should become our own state. Smh
Some years ago I was so proud of Montana; the state legislature approved thousands of dollars to investigate the possibilities of breaking away from the USA and forming their own nation; a nation of INDEPENDENCE, separate and apart from so much of a stench that our country is so quickly becoming. But as I see it; no rush is needed, just preparation, for it will soon collapse of it's own weight. May God be a shield to the upright of spirit.

Idaho is a great place to live but is it any better than other coastal states? In order to not have to pay sales tax on food, when I go to my local Costco, I get to drive 80 miles on not-so-great roads to go to Washington so I can pay less. Land prices. I have a couple of former resident friends in Washington who waned to move to where? Why "free" Idaho of course, but with the number of wealthy people moving here, real estate is higher here than a middle class family from Washington, can afford. They both gave it up and are remaining in Washington.
So is Idaho becoming a haven for the wealthy? I live on 10 acres in a pole building and that was because 30 years ago, land was cheap. But now, what do you think happens to taxes when the wealthy move in and build beautiful homes? Ten years ago my place was assessed at $60 thousand. A house near me was sold for a very large price to a former resident of LaPine, Oregon wanting to get away from rapid growth in Oregon and living in our "free" state, and other what I call wealthy folks--people who own new fancy diesel pickups and and new fifth wheels and four-wheelers on their manicured lawns, continued to move here. This year my land was assessed at over $200 thousand and I did very little work on it those past 10 years, adding outbuildings built out of scrounged building materials. I am lower middle class. Now so far our senior tax discounts helps , but taxes in our county are definitely on the rise. And that Social Security never keeps up with inflation. So why am I not thrilled with the move-in movement???
@@user-sk7zc1fc5u people in Washington, Oregon and northern California don't want crime rides drug addicts and want to raise a family. Money cannot buy these things . I am an electrician and also middle class. The wealthiest of idaho homeowners and landowners don't live here. Just vacation here.

There are benefits to a lower minimum wage, especially for low skilled people. You can look up Thomas sowell to find out more.
@@stadler72 Benefits to people getting paid less? Is this kind of like the people who say smoking has a few health benefits?
@@mattalley4330 no. The argument is that minimum wage does more harm than good to an economy. It's because the choice to pay people more affects more than just those people. It has wider effects on the economy.
For one, a low skilled worker can't get a job where there is a minimum wage unless the value he produces is at least minimum wage. So young people who could show up and sweep floors and learn a valuable job skill don't have that opportunity unless the value of sweeping floors at least meets minimum wage.
