Even after dozens of coups and changes of government, Greece kept it's anthem. Brilliant 👏🏻👏🏻
Albania did the same
@@bruhz_089
We were talking about Greece not Albania
@@yobama6966 I know but Albania also has never changed their flag or anthem
@@bruhz_089 Albania changed his flag, it was during the socialist period
@@ascendedascii to be honest it wasn't that of a big change they removed the crown of skunderburg and put a star
Greece: Whatever form of government, Song of Liberty is dope.
Amazing video! God bless GREECE 🇬🇷 🙏 ❤
The previous Greek anthems and the short version: barely 40%
Long version: >60%
I just like how the Hellenic Republic (full lyrics) timestamp encompasses basically half an hour of time. Bet the singers needed water and rest after that. I love it
During the era of king otto the british anthem's music was used
How u know?
Actually it was the Bavaria's anthem
Divine Greece , long live Hellas.

The national anthem under Otto was "God Save Otto our King", which was set to the same music as God Save the King and the German imperial anthem
Republic of Greece (1974-?)
Royal anthem of Greece 1832-1862?
Tsardom of Greece (1936-1974)
That didn’t exist
Long live Greece
What's the Morea Eyalet anthem called
Mahmudiye marsi if I'm not mistaken
Ubsolutely wrong...!!! The poet "Hymn to liberty" consists of 158 stanzas but ONLY the first 24 of them were declared by George A' king of the Hellenes as the official national anthem of Greece in 1864. However, just the first 2 of them are played and sung during the formal events. The rest stanzas of the poet ARE NOT part of the Greek national anthem. In addition, there was NO official or unofficial Greek national anthem up to 1832. After Otto, son of the king of Bavaria, was chosen as the first king of Hellas, the anthem of Bavaria (the melody of which is the same with the British anthem) was adopted as the first official national anthem of Greece, named "God save the king" and remain as national anthem till 1864.

We also hope that you read more, before presenting information, here, at least about countries that are so close, geographically, to your “country. Eg, only check the last name of greece’s first governor, to see how more, you sould study. The name is: capodistrias. Sounds familiar?😁❤️🇬🇷

El wey que no desayuno:💀☠️
Incorrect video. Only the first 2 lines, of what is presented here, is the national anthem of greece, since ever. The original poem may be long, but it’s not the anthem in its entirety. The first 2 lines are, and that’s all. Now, greek history is the longest, in Europe and one of the longest worldwide. Same thing with the language: alone with Chinese, greek language is the oldest, non stop in use, until today, language of earth.❤️ we wish, and hope, that you fix the video, fast.🇬🇷
.
Ottoman Greece (1714-1822)
Ottoman captured greece in 1453 not 1714
Well, this video is wrong. Because Mahmudiye Marşı was adopted in 1829, 7 years after independence of Greece

Is it true that the Greek anthem insulted the Turks? 😢
No it's not, the Greek national anthem is the first two stanzas of the poem by Dionysios Solomos "Hymn to Liberty", the English translation of the Greek national anthem is this:
"Hymn to Liberty"
'I recognise you by the sharpness,
of your fearsome sword,
I recognise you by the gleam (in your eyes)
with which you rapidly survey the earth.
From the sacred bones,
of the Hellenes arisen,
and strengthened by your antique bravery,
hail, o hail, Liberty!'
I see no mention of any people or nation other than the Greeks.
My favourite is the first onr
