This kind of got retconned by the Angry Birds movie
that movie was....passable at best, but I did like that they at least redesigned the birds so that they have believable bodies with wings and feet, and weren't just hopping around like characters off of _Veggietales._

Canonically the pigs want the eggs because they look tasty and I guess they just haven’t ate them het
The thing is, the birds are the villains. There were multiple levels where they were just bombing children’s schools and houses for no reason, despite there being no eggs in sight. Instead of only bombing military sites and trying to get the eggs back, they killed and destroyed the homes of many innocent piggy civilians.😢
