    Thanks for the videos Ben. Do you use the "flex shaft" style of drain cleaning in kitchen 11/2 and 2"? Seems to me the magic of flex shaft is the camera being in the pipe so you can see what your doing. I wonder if the spinning chain knocker on a 1/4 in cable is any better than regular hand gun cables with 5/16 or bigger 3/8 that I run in small drum machines. Do you use the smaller flex shaft? Again, Thanks for your time and expertise. Dave

      Using a proprietary method and tools for 1-1/2 to 2" so I can't speak much on that one. However I will say I stopped using the camera and flexshaft together in small lines. Saving 5 or 10 minutes per job running the shaft and camera together weren't worth the increased camera issues. The camera is still used to double check how well the pipe was cleaned.

    Hi there, thanks for the review. Is the carbide only for steel pipes because I'm thinking on abs or pvc that could become an issue with wear on the pipes....

    So i have changed to renzorato
    But the heavy duty chains put more wear on the flexshaft

    Hey Ben, hope you're doing well. Have you seen or used the Milwaukee chain knockers for the sectional machines? I placed an order for the 7/8" cable but I guess they're on backorder. I haven't seen anyone give a review on those yet.

      I have the rothenberger style and have tried them at the same speed and they don't work at all. Highly not recommended if you expect similar results as flex shaft.

      @@sewerroundtablereview4929 good to know. I made one for my 7/8 cable which worked well descaling a 4" line. It just won't go through 3" lines. I figured it wouldn't work as fast but it would still get the job done.

    where are your Boldan chains? ;)

    • @sewerroundtablereview4929
      @sewerroundtablereview4929  4 роки тому +1

      I can't get my order through Boldan because of the US distributor's customer service. Boldan makes some bang up looking tools but for regular drain cleaning, chains are fine and the carbide shape doesn't matter much. The size of links, welding, placement of carbide, set screws, and list goes on are more important.

      @@sewerroundtablereview4929 true my friend. at the end of the day for regular drain cleaning its not the biggest deal. But if you're ever interested in the Boldan chains forget about the US distributor, just order directly from the manufacturer in Finland. Super easy to deal with, very responsive through email. I've had great experience with them! Even though the shipping to the USA will be more than you're used to (maybe around 100 euro), its definitely worth it if you're ordering a bunch of stuff. They always have sales and crazy cheap deals, and the shipping is super quick (I just made an order and it got to the US in under 5 days)
