Hi Jim, How to spend a few hours having a play what its all about and all the engineering that must go into it is mind boggling as always one or two questions how heavy a load can it pick up and move about and was the loco it moved a working model? Please keep safe and well as this pandemic is far from over. Cheers Robert.
Hi Robert, Yeah this is a fun model to control even on my desk on the smart rail...good fun after a very hard work week... It can lift 300g in short boom mode with out riggers, 130g in fully extended boom mode with out riggers and between 240g and 80g with no out riggers with a 15 degree turn only from the docked position. The model loco is a diecast fully working model at 135g {trix 21221 set}. Thanks and keep safe Robbert and your Family...Jim
Just a practical point. If you where to lift a real loco that way, it would be crushed by the chains. There is a spreader bar provided to give a wider lift so the chains remain vertical or with an outside angle so your lift does not get crushed. Also your chains under should be as far apart as possible and restrained from coming together. Otherwise a chain can slip and tip the load out of the sling. OK so it is a very good model and I have this and the other TRIX cranes. And I use to work in heavy engineering where heavy loads where moved around the world.
That opening shot was COOL! But it needed the most dramatic music you could find... something like 2001 A Space Odyssey level dramatic. :D Then you continue with the epic quality video to highlight the whole transport and operation. HD (looked almost like 4K), fantastic angles, brilliant layout, cool toys. I think I hate you. :)
Have to say well done Roco thats one incredible model, thanks for the demo Jim. Don't know if you have kids Jim but hope they don't get to fed up with you nicking their PS2 controller when you want to roll the crane out :) Cheers Peter
Hi Peter...thanks...Roco have done an amazing job with this as there is so much packed inside this unique crane...and so many ways to controll. P.s No shortage of controllers as I am also retro game and consol collector...
Hi Jim what a great video the crane looks excellent on the video it's some kit that and how did you get the ps4 controller to work that would be a interesting video to watch🤔🤔😉🎮on the other crane in the background why does it have a green flashing light on the top at 6.15 mins into the video?? Cheers Paul
Hi paul...yeah I will do another vid showing how to connect a ps3 or ps4 con.. Re: background ,That is another Roco dcc crane..the light shows what its about to do next on the functions without looking at a dcc controller...the lights flash fast and slow ,two short flashes etc..in three colours....its another amazing model from about 20 years ago.
@@hovermotion that would be great Jim for the video I just seen the flashing light and thought why is that doing that I know I'll ask Jim lol must add say you have some crazy locomotives cheers Paul
That is the coolest thing ever, do you have videos of your other working cranes ? And is that custom work or is it a complete kit or ready to run ? Would love to purchase some of them
@@markmattocks3174 HI , No the ps3 will not pair with a android tab unless you have a Otg to Usb adaptor and a mini Usb to Usb adaptor also an app is required to go bluetooth. So its a no , better off just buying another ps4 con.

i want one too.,... what a nice model.... it looks better and its easier to move than my wife
Lol...yeah it is a great model , there are many ways to control it but the ps4 or ps3 con is the easyist.
Does the other Rocco crane in the video also have sounds?
Yes lok sound 5
Nice!
Thanks!
Does it come with those chains? and is there a weight limit to how much it can pick up?
No chains...there is a limit on lift depending on the angle and length of boom and if the out riggers , counter weight are used.
super
All your videos are so interesting. Hope you don't mind me asking, but what brand of track do you use, it looks ready ballasted ?. Thanks.
Many thanks...
The track is Fleischmann profi ho (pre balasted).
Expensive track but worth every penny...
@@hovermotion It looks brilliant. Thank you for replying, you must be very busy !
Well done, didn’t think it would be long before you would be using PS4 controller, is it hard to set up?
Hi no its wasy...I am going to see if it will work with a ps3 con too..
