Sunny’s reasoning for not liking Rarijack really resonates with me. I just left a relationship where we didn’t respect each other’s lifestyles. Never really knew why I didn’t like that ship, but this gives me something to think about.

Then at 29:55; when you said, “It was very subtle.” I got cut off to an advert and the next words I heard were “Like hot crossed buns in every flavour.” I don’t know why, that made me laugh so hard.
I don't necessarily agree with the statement about Rarity going crazy over AJ's death is a flipped cliche of a girl going crazy after a boyfriend dies. I haven't listened to the original fic in some time, so perhaps I'm wrong, but I feel like that the two also being friends for so long in canon and the other themes of guilt play large enough factor that even if she wasn't in love with AJ she could reasonably be so withdrawn and upset over the death of the Apple family.

i think what would've been a great ending for this fic - to properly land the 'grimdark' tag PLUS get that 'the hero doesn't win' - is if the house *did* survive. something at the end about a police report/news report about how the boutique nearly burned down but firefighters saved it or sumn with some of the boutique saved, but rarity still dies. an if we HAVE to keep scootaloo and sweetie belle in this, they can ALSO go to the boutique at the end with some reasoning like "oohhhh we should make this into a. memorial place for rarity an all the other ponies who died hereeee" and it's implied they Also die. this is an All The Gays Die fic an it WILL go down as an All The Gays Die fic

I figured that it was pretty clearly implied that the last letter went through because Rarity didn't include any mention of the demon or call for help, she was just saying goodbye.
if rarity could've left once she set the boutique on fire, red herring should've slipped his case files under the front door, and burned the house down starting with the opposite side with his cigar

Before you updated us to this fic discution I was thinking for you to do a more relaxed version of tww which will have mag correcting all the grammar/sentence formulation "errors" in your fics just to give her a tool to make fun of you and have a way to discus you fics as you do in a normal tww with you making the same for her fic after a whole round has been done, and then you did this fic edit (the only one that should matter and the only one this comment will always have): On the point of this being a grimdark, could it be a reverse grimdark? A reverse grimdark being a grimdark where the main protagonist of the story is the bbeg and the antagonists are it's victims, although this might start as a normal grimdark and develop inti a reverse as it goes on.
I disagree with Suni. I can't put words into Lost, or Magpie Ponies, mouths but I don't think this story has to sell anyone on Rarijack. To me looking at the story as a whole and how it reads, the thumbnail, all of that together tells me this story is specifically for already established Rarjack shippers and anyone outside of that is not the target audience, for those Rarjack elements in the story.
