- A British junior minister has warned that the United Kingdom would go bankrupt if it would be under a Labour government.
Jacob Young, Britain's Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, clashed with Angela Rayner (Labour) during a debate on levelling-up funding in Great Britain.
Angela Rayner claimed that "14 years of a Conservative Government, elected on a promise to level up the country, left working people worse off."
Jacob Young warned that the "Labour party bankrupted Birmingham, and it would bankrupt Britain".

The union’s wanted someone of their own who they can manipulate, and the party had to go along with it because they need the unions money and support! I suppose you do realise voters also look at who leads the party as well as just the candidates for their constituency?

Rayner mentioned Burnley but she never mentioned the millions of pounds Burnley council gave for a new Mosque to be built
They'll need to build millions of houses once they've opened the borders-the new housing estates, the onshore wind farms and the reforestation which they have said they want-they will need to build an extension onto this overcrowded island just to service all their manifesto plans.

Remember Labour left office and a note saying “ no money left” because of their mismanagement of the economy.
Actually it was the mismanagement by the US banks that caused the crash and meant Labour had to stop the English banks going under. So thank our friends over the pond for their lack of regulation, something the tories have recently decided to loosen again.

Ignoring the voices and needs of local leaders and communities in the north, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns and restrictions.
Failing to address the underlying causes of regional inequality, such as the concentration of economic and political power in London, the lack of devolution and autonomy for northern regions, and the loss of young talent to the capital .
These are some of the reasons why many people in the north feel betrayed and disillusioned by the Tory government, and why some experts doubt that the ‘levelling up’ agenda will make any meaningful difference to the north-south divide
All of the above has been done in Kent too - trust me its a mess down here, and I am a Northerner who moved South 35 years ago. My local council is only one step behind Birmingham.
The biggest infrastructure project that was needed in Kent during the last labour government, has not yet seen a shovel of earth turned, but is allegedly due to start in two years, and be ready in 2030 - 20 years later than needed. I asked the planners if the new build was based on data that worked with the projected growth of the area - oddly not - so when it arrives we will need to start looking at the next solution -we face gridlock daily now in North Kent, and driving anywhere is a nightmare.
And liebour will be different how?

Under the Tory MP we've had 40+ million funding of investment in the last 4 years i think more than Labour managed in 90. The best MPs weve had in the town recently have been tory and lib dem and sadly we have an inept Labour council so we'll l soon be bankrupt. The 'levelling up' was in the manifesto of December 2019 - 4 years ago and for all that time we have been fighting the effects of COVID, global recession, global inflation and a war in Ukraine. None of which Labour ever mention. Just '14 years'.
