Great stuff.. for us partying at the beach and drinking ourselves to near death, the JBL boombox is a luxury. That's both the original and 2. But I agree totally with the insight Wellington provided. Accurate.
With the party Box On the go to make it $300 jbl had to cut down some futures
1. Water resistant
2. Battery life
3. One woofer
The battery life difference is the real issue here between the two . 6 hours for something marketed as the "on the go" speaker is very poor. Real world use you probably will get only half that or 3 hours. Having a small 2500 mAh battery in such a large speaker doesn't make any sense at all.
Honestly if you have full volume, the light feature and the extra bass, it’ll be more like an hour and a half.

The bass in the boombox goes so much lower, that's why I can't trade my Boombox 1 with Indoor mode for any other right now. I'd love to have the On-The-Go features... but not now.

The bass of bb2 can be adjusted to preference it has EQ while bb1 has none...besides with same battery bb2 has more RMS power meaning its more louder and more powerful than bb1.
@@stevecadagat3775 I have boombox 3 too, i loved it because of 4 hrs battery life at max volume.. however unlike Partybox On the go and encore… the boombox bass dissapear after 70% and higher.. and on 100% all it has is mids, and treble the bass is still there but not as punchy and deep like the encore and on the go at 100% where they retain the bass somehow even at max volume especially outdoors with people dancing at the beach… i think thats because of much bigger driver and woofer while boombox has much smaller subwoofer even if its subwoofer rated at 30-45hz its smaller driver won’t keep up at high volumes.
I went to the store one day and pressed the power button on a jbl party box 300. It took a second and I thought it didnt work. Tht was my first time seeing one. Then after like 7 seconds, the bass hit me hard.

They need bigger tweeters on the boombox more like 35 40 mm doesn't mean tune them real high and sharp tune them to be neutral

I have the Jbl Partybox 100 and Boombox. The loudness is the almost the same, difficult to say which is louder. But partybox 100 has better bass and you can listen it from 100 meters compared to boombox. The partybox 100 spreads out the volume better but it weighs double than boombox and it's not waterproof. With that saying i would not expect jbl on the go to be better than boombox, if partybox 100 can not surpass it with big difference.
Partybox on the go loses in 100% volume in battery mode because it drops its power drastically. If you plug it to AC power it will destroy the bombox

@@officinalejoseravri8886 Partybox on the go is 100 watts RMS vs 80 watts in boombox while both are plugged in. But when playing unplugged boombox takes upper hand with 60 watts vs 50 in partybox. So the comparison in this video does not show the full power of the partybox.
I've got the partybox and decided for it for the microphone and the posibility to plug anothe mic. I think these speakers are not comparable.
Seems like I'm the only one here, who finds the partybox sounds better. The boombox is muffled in the mids, and the bass is kind of boomy and slow. The partybox's bass is more articulated and fast, not boomy. The mids are like night and day, in favour to partybox. Too bad about partybox's mediocre battery.

The PB on the go sounds a bit more convincing... It's sounds a bit more detailed while the BB2 is quite muddy... also the BB2's bass punch at max volume disappeared at some part of bass heavy tracks...
That because the BOOMBOX 2 has the protective cover on front of the speakers and the partybox has an open grill

I heard both in a versus and everyone who was there said that the boombox has better , more and deeper bass, the mids and highs is on my opinion also better than the partybox, the partybox sounds like it is a bit muffled ^^

I have not noticed distortion at higher volumes. Jbl Eon one compact is used for concerts, musicians and for events. It is a very serious speaker 🔊 and a real champion. I have boombox, partybox 100 but in every battle and comparison eon one compact surpass them much way. Even at the lowest volumes you can notice the difference. At maximum volume you can hear it from 200 meters. It is a true diamond, a real champion 🏆

Yo ví el video conectado a la BoomBox y sí me percaté que el BoomBox 2 tiene graves un poco más profundos y todo gracias a los radiadores; aunque para ser verdad no hay mucha diferencia en ello, en el On The Go los graves son profundos pero también son duros o secos, no sé cómo explicarlo.
Disculpa si no me explique bien, pero en conclusión no hay mucha diferencia en los graves.

I like the look and carrying ease of the BoomBox BUT on some songs it doesn't reproduce the mods and base correctly or deeper enought...I went with the Party On The Go...ateast it has lights and a microphone. JBL is not stupid...they know if they give the it an app....most people won't get a different speaker.

Boombox can produce its totally watts capacity while bluetooth connection, while for the pb otg to use the full 100 watts , you need to plug ac and wired it , and see who will win . Because pb otg using 50 watts while using bluetooth
Correction it’s 60W RMS for Boombox 2 unplugged and 80W plugged the party bod gets louder but with sacrifice in bass and tone. Mr Willington is not perfect and had them unplugged for the audio sample for the On The Go its 50W unplugged and 100W RMS plugged

Atm the hk is selling for 260£ in the UK, last week I bought boombox (og) for 190£! That was best deal(now is selling for 230£, still better deal) considering the fact it has 3 times the battery life and its waterproof 💦 :)

Don't let the power rating of the Boombox 2 fool you. Would choose the Boombox 2 all day. But JBL is known to sneak firmware updates out to newly released products, so this could change.

2 things Will....
1. You only get 6oW RMS out of the party box when running on battery only, plugged in its a full 100W RMS it will be louder than the boombox
2. You tested the base on Base lv.1 and not lv.2 so you also couldn't really compare in this test properly
I think if you put them both on power, and the Partybox on Base level 2. it might be a total different "ball game" all together!

i have a boombox 2 as a DJ, I plug it in through the aux in. I've also notive that the integrated limiter helps me a lot to avoid any distortion from the songs. I haven't had the partybox on the go.
Rather get their IRX 8/12 or get JBL Eon One for that purpose
I bought the jbl boombox for 300 and the extreme 2 for 200 and their both certified refurbished
For me if you only want to have a music on the speaker better go to boombox but if you are into singing go to partybox on the go

Tengo ambos y aun que en las especificaciones dice que el bbx2 45hz y el on the go 50hz, es engañoso por que el on the go se lo lleva en graves profundos en modo bass boost "off" y en general el on the go tiene más potencia que el boombox 2.... lo único malo la batería dura poco, por lo de más le doy un 100 de 100

Boombox 2 has deeper bass and its more louder but the partybox on the go only has 1 main driver and 2 tweeters that is why it is not that loud but hey there are lights though.

I had a partybox on-the-go and switched it out to a Boombox2. The battery life in the partybox as on full volume with bass boost dies in less than 2.5 hours. Pretty useless if you’re gonna take it somewhere cos the speaker dies before the party does. The mic is really fun and useful but pointless cos it’s more like a plugged in karaoke speaker..
