This is my buddy Boris proudly showing off his "shaving helmet". My roommate Kenny volunteered for the demonstration.

HeadBlade hired viral marketing agency Thinkmodo thinkmodo.com to create an engaging and entertaining video to get people talking about head shaving. Thinkmodo created "The Shaving Helmet" which quickly became a global viral sensation and sparked conversations about head shaving around the world. Hundreds of TV news shows, radio programs, websites,blogs, and forums posted "The Shaving Helmet" and asked, "What if this actually worked?".
The helmet was made using HeadBlade Sport razors designed for shaving your head. It was fabricated by top New York City special effects company, Clockwork Apple.

hard to tell where the cut is, but when he turns the camera to see him take the helmet off, there is a natural looking bump that could be easy to achieve in any compositing sofware. That's how I think any cut in the footage was blended.
loooool so many people think they're geniuses because they can point out an obviously fake vid. Does it matter that it's fake? No. It's still a nice video and an awesome concept!

This would pair nice with my 'Take a shit' helmet although my device is much simpler but harder to clean.

@EA1729 yes it does, pay close attention to the white line line that runs up the middle of the left sleeve and where it meets the seam at his shoulder. before the head shave its at the front of the seam. after the head shave, its at the back of the seam. also pay close attention to the staggering of the white plaid stripes that run over the front of his shirt and where they meet at the top.

I think this is probably a viral video for HeadBlades (the yellow razor thing used in the helmet).

The blades didn't move laterally in his "demonstration" though (although he says that they do). All 4 blades are on a track just moving back and forth, which would seem, even after 20 seconds, to cause intense razor burn.
If you can have a helmet that will digitally display a haircut style and cut the hair the way a customer wants it, then I have investors

Ahahaha. Awesome idea but personally it would take some great caution before I'd just pop it on without second thought. I have a phobia of razors, and having 4 of them run across my head by automation scares the life out of me. However I don't shave my head in the first place; congrats on such an interesting invention =p

My first thought when I saw this on Tosh.0>>>> "dude is that Mr. Hladek'? Then I re watched it and thought. 'Wtf? Thats Mr. Hladek!' He's the video Production teacher at my school.
Great looking fake, guys. The give-away was that there were only 4 blades and his entire head was shaved, including the sides and no gaps between.
It looks like a true functioning device, I'd like to see the actual results even if it looks funky a triple Mohawk across the head!
if you look inside the helmet,the blades dont overlap, so how could his head be perfertly shaved.
We need Penn & Teller to analyze this.

As a guy who shaves my head most days, I need more information before I am not scared of having my head sliced up.
you need a clear helmet and i have a question where does the hair go...i do a lot of editing...i believe this is fake like the others but pretty cool tho to say the lease .. matter of fact i thought about this idea a few weeks ago...
@neotekz wrong. THAT was an ad for the movie Limitless. they came clean about that soon after everyone called fake on it. this on the other hand, is real. stupid, but real.

I would never put that on my head lol.
Used a Headblade to shave me but I went back to a classick gillete. The headblade always get suck with hair and I also managed to cut myself several times at the begining due a strange angle.

pfft i may be over analyzing but "Kenny's" shirt changes. you should choose a more neutral pattern when pulling the bait and switch.
Very cool, although I wouldn't wanna try it myself. For safety purposes, there should be an emergency stop button

they just said on the news that this was fake, the guywho gets the helmet put on has an indentical twin who was bald and they switched in the midle of the video.
Unless I'm missing something, shouldn't this machine just cut four tracks of hair? How does cut as low as his ears, and around them?
From what I see, it looks like it's a clever trick, maybe they switch the guy with a twin or something that just shaved his head?
But if it is a scam, they put a ton of work into that helmet.

awesome video and concept, its really well done, but its fake because no one have a perfectly round head and everyones head is a different shape or size..

It's fake because = When he turns away to the other guy who explains in, there's a cut of film, which they shave the guys head and have him resit then resume filming
