I love it! I can't tell if wires are color coded to keep positive and negative going the right way, I'm thinking of something like this for supplemental heat in the winter in my greenhouse.
Why would you insert the heater element from the *top*??? And what are your wattage calculations? This small solar panel will never catch up with the power consumption of the heater. It works only until the battery is flat.
previous vid had 2 Toyota glow plugs going into bottom side of barrel, it was leaking a bit! I'm thinking about this for greenhouse supplemental heat in the winter.
looking at his set up I don't see that as much of an issue? if the battery is under voltage his inverter will just kick out letting the battery build up again. And his panel is so small that the heater will just keep draining the thing before it gets chance to build up much of a charge let alone an over charge. The system will probs self regulate but will shorten the life of the battery due to inadequate charging. It's not a li-ion so will just die prematurely. I think I would be more concerned about the use of hot glue around a hot element lol

These are actually do work! I would suggest you never turn it on with the heating element out of water and to install the heating element lower in the container to ensure it's never on without water covering it. The heating element will eventually burn out if it is on with no water covering it.
The heating element should be at the bottom. When the tank is half full, your heating element will be exposed and blow.

This setup is good but we need approxiamtely 4 solar panel of 400 watt and charge controller.
