I caught you on Lew's channel. Nice to see you're exploring with your new found 'ticket'...flying is fun. I loved landing on short runways...it keeps the blood pumping.
@@ZeroThreeDelta Here were my two shortest runways. This is not me...I just pulled these off UA-cam. The first is Butter Valley in PA in the middle of a golf course at 1,500' long. ua-cam.com/video/_4d387SpXuk/v-deo.html and the 2nd is Areoflex at 2,000' in length with water on both sides ua-cam.com/video/5qhI5KlPaKU/v-deo.html Enjoy.
I love that the runway that I learned on and got my ppl at is shorter than this. Because of that other runways look enormous. You guys flying in the US have no idea how lucky you are, especially in Florida.
GNS 480 crew checking in! :) I hated mine at first, but once I learned how to use it, I much prefer it now to the 430/530. You can do Victor Airways and random holds!
Right! That's it, I'm getting some over wing and under wing mounts for my aeroplane. Were all the plane-mounted cameras GoPro? Loved the video and just subscribed - keep 'em coming mate! Regards from the colonies :)
Great video, thank you! Is that an iPad mini? How do you like it mounted on the yoke? I'm considering it for my 10inch iPad in a C172, but feel like it would be too big and also would be moving around too much. Maybe kneeboard (although don't want to have my head down all the time either)? Thoughts?
This was great! I’ve been following along since the days when you took lessons from that moderately funny British guy who sells flying eyes sunglasses.
Haha the “long” runway where I learned (EGCB) was shorter than this and our short runway was 1,300’. It’s great for confidence when you learn on short fields
@@ZeroThreeDelta EGCB had a sewage works and one end and a motorway bridge over the Manchester ship canal at the other. I know which water I would prefer 😂😂
A lot of people say that it’s hard to place me, but that’s because we’ve lived all over the place since I was about 7. I’m originally from Stoke-on-Trent.
If Gareth can make that field I have to go now. 😉 Well done mate. With only 2300 feet of runway, did you practice your short field landings prior to the flight?
Thanks man! Haha. I don’t know. I think it’s the texture. I’m really not much for seafood in general. Maybe I should have chosen a different state in which to reside.
Hi there, try to get a power bank and connect the cockpit cameras with an USB to it and you'll get hours of recording, from now on you'll be limited only by the card capacity. For the top wing camera, a 360º one would be a blast.
Dogfighting on the beach! Did you bring those with you or was there some poor child crying off camera because you took his toys? Lmao! Awesome adventure. We haven’t been to Cedar key for some reason.
Great video! I love Cedar Key, especially when I fly in. Great meeting you at Sun and Fun! Thanks for the picture.
No problem man! I enjoyed meeting everyone who came to say 'hi'. Already looking forward to next year.
Ah yes! You loved my video so much you utilized the same backing track for the intro. You have good taste sir! Nice flight and video....safe flying!
Haha, thanks!
Fun times! Great drone and GoPro (or equivalent) work...showed my lovely wife now she is ready for an adventure
Get it done! 😁
15:54 - Kid on beach patiently waiting... "Can I get my planes back now?"
Love the view from the wing cam
Nice day out! Lovely clear picture from under the wing!
Yeah, it was a great day for it ... well ... at least by the time we got there.
Great video and what a strong Floridian accent you have. Cool editing as well, good job!
Haha. You mean you can tell I’m not American? 😂

Absolutely, especially when it’s windy and there’s water at both ends of the runway!

Thanks for sharing the experience with us. The runway seems like a challenge, great job nailing the landing.
It definitely is. Sadly, quite a few planes end up in the water ... but not this time!
Bring back sweet memories. Just an absolutely amazing place. I was flying in there several times back in 84-85. Thanks for bringing me back:)
You’re very welcome!

Ha, I know. UK pilots laugh at us calling Cedar Key ‘short’ 😂
Amazing place, I want to go there!
It’s a ‘must do’ for any pilot!
Really enjoyed this video
Thanks for sharing 👍✌
Cheers from Saskatchewan Canada. Great video. Looks like a blast 👍👍
Greetings! 😁

Random holds? Sounds safe 😂

Yep, they’re all GoPro 7 blacks. Thanks for subscribing!
I love the adventure videos since the checkride! Great job on this one man
Thanks! 😁
Very Cinematic! Great Job mate!
Thanks! 😁

Yeah, it's the Mini 5. Seems to work well on most of the yokes I use. The only one I've not tried it in is the 152.
Great day out. Excellent shots and very nicely edit Gareth. Out of interest, what is the length of that runway? Thanks for posting. 👍😎
Thanks! It’s 2,355ft with the thresholds, about 1,800ft without it on 23.
This was great! I’ve been following along since the days when you took lessons from that moderately funny British guy who sells flying eyes sunglasses.
Cool man! Thanks for continuing to watch 😁
Pretty cool
Thanks! 😁

@@jonathantucker1470 Haha! Yeah, at least if you go off the end at CDK, you can have a little paddle while waiting for the NTSB to arrive 😂

Nah, I just remembered my training.
Excellent editing...loved it

Great edit. I didn’t think that landing was hard at all. You put it down nicely. Also, how the f*** do you not like oysters?!

I’ve got power banks but didn’t use them. The GoPro Max, although it records in 6K, only outputs in 1080p.
Good looking airplane!🙌🙌👍 A rental out of Apopka 🤔
Love to see a video to everglade city
Is there much to do there?
Nice editing!
Thanks!

We were in Walmart the night before buying printer ink and just stumbled across them, so had to buy them 😂
Short field take off? Nice video and channel
For departure, yes. Full length and short field technique.
Which Golf Cart Company did you use?
We used ‘Cedar Key Adventures’. Seems they keep a couple of carts at the airport which is very convenient.
Did / do you fly a lot of flight simulators?
I used to when I was younger, but haven’t for a while. I’m tempted to try it again, though.
The airport I’m based at it 2000, we have paved and grass
Which airport? I worked out that CDK is 1800ft if you take away the threshold for 23.
3oh0 is 2000
