Is that so 🦐🦐🦐🦐🦐🦐 btw video was very epic idk much abt coffee and have just began taking interest in trying diffrent types of coffee / trying to make earlier this year and your videos have been very interesting
Hi Morgan, I hope you’re doing well. Been thinking about you a lot and wanted to write you. I haven’t written you in a while. Just wanna say thank you so much for all of your cold brew content. I really enjoy cold coffee and it’s one of my favorites so thanks for the content. Hope you’re able to keep it coming. I’m totally blind and I appreciate the fact that you always describe what you do in your videos and you talk through your recipes. Hope you have an awesome day and I hope to hear from you. I would love to know how you make your cold brew I really would. I hope you make that video.
I’m also blind and love all coffees. Your descriptive language in your videos is absolutely appreciated. 💕 I’ve even been working with different coffee beans through trade 😁
@@samwarren2850 Ironically, I started drinking coffee for the sole purpose of training my body that it needs to drop the kids off at the pool at the same time every day! 💩
Seeing all the mixology-inspired drinks you've made, a How to Drink/MDC collab would be so cool. eg maybe you give Greg a coffee drink to turn into a cocktail, Greg gives you a cocktail to turn into a coffee drink
Ever since I quit Starbucks I have been really trying to make my own coffee and understand more about the world of coffee and your videos help so much so thank you!
Summer is coming? Summer is coming?! 😭 It peaked at 52.3 degrees yesterday here in India. Air con and cold coffee drinks are the only things keeping me alive rn.
America's test kitchen has a great video about milk clarification. If it has enough alcohol it can be completely shelf stable, so it is a great way to batch sour cocktails for summer. I still have some clarified Southside from 4 years ago (a lockdown project).
Would love a detailed video on how you make your cold brew! Everything from roast level to inside or outside the fridge etc. Would be amazing if you could give us something like that!
Hello from the Southern Hemisphere. Can't wait to try these recipes in 6 months! For now, I'll be drinking as much hot coffee as I can get my hands on.
Dude - don’t giggle about tiny spoons! It was quite serious for me! As a person who eats more than she should- I have been very interested in tiny spoons for many years. I had no idea how to find them or what they were called. I googled and searched on Amazon for hours trying to find the right spoon for ice cream or yogurt or something else small that would help me gain control of my eating habits. The second you said their name - I looked them up and Wow. There they were. The tiny spoons of my dreams. I will forever be grateful! Now I can eat desert and feel fancy and elegant and not over indulgent. The happiness of my future depended on your long winded rambling. Thank you very much.
I've been making the Mai Tai for the past month or so ever since you showed it off in a short, and if is absolutely delicious! It really is a fantastic summer beverage
Just this week i was looking at the remains of my cold brew. I usually do a drink of about 150 mls with some cream and some flavored syrup as a pre-workout before the gym. Since i only had about 80 mls left i looked in my fridge and realized i had some store bought lemonade. Thinking back to some of the videos i have seen here i made up the mixture to 150 mls and added the syrup to sweeten it up. I consumed most of it but the flavor syrup added an extra flavor that wasn't needed. A simple syrup would have been better but maybe i will try it again with a few changes. Thanks for all the ideas you present here Morgan and thanks for the videos
I watched this in the morning and made it a mission to make something like this at my Starbucks job today... i went in with a lime and made a vanilla lime cold brew with some of the lemon seltzer we have in can. I thought it could have been sweeter but I absolutely love the clarified milk concept!
Hello, would u be able to do a video comparing the taste of a coffee done with different types of brewing. Only the brewing type is the variable (cold brew, drip, french press, espresso machine etc) n the rest is the same (water amount, coffee bean, roast level etc). The coffee drink might be a long black or Americano for easy comparison. It would be beneficial for someone to figure out on what type of machinery to buy. Thank you.
Just made the Mai tai coffee and am shocked at how good this is. We randomly had all the ingredients because we love tiki drinks but being able to mix them with coffee instead of alcohol and enjoy them on the back porch while basking in the morning sun is so lovely. I want a whole coffee/tiki bar now! 😂
Hey Morgan, I don't want to be that creepy commenter, but I hear that "you're looking well" is often taken as a kind of covert insult. I just wanted to say that you _are_ looking well and I hope it's a symptom of a stress free existence. Thanks for continuing to bring this level of coffee enthusiasm and preparation without the stigma or pretense that you might expect to find at a whiskey tasting. I really do appreciate it. Great work on this video, I really enjoyed it! I think I'll actually give this one a go!
If you ever feel like making a video exclusively about making the cold brew at home, I'd love to watch. I tried to make some for myself, and it definitely didn't work, and I don't know why.
I welcome the return of the slide in! When you make cold brew, do you stick to just one level of roast or do you like to experiment with what you’ve got on hand? I’m never picky, often just using what I have but I’m always curious to experiment!
For consistency, I usually stick with more traditional medium roast profiles for cold brew. They’re also the most forgiving if you accidentally leave them brewing for too long, I’ve found. If I’m really wanting a bright, complex iced coffee, I usually won’t use a long cold brew method. I’ll do something like a pour over or immersion flash brew. But that’s just me! I do suggest exploring different coffee profiles to settle on what you like best.
i have played around with light roasts and some turn out really great, but i really think it's a matter of taste! i think the big thing to keep in mind is just that they're going to be fundamentally differently balanced. e.g. some things that are cool notes in a pourover of a coffee are going to be harder to pick up in cold brew, while others might be overwhelming (depending obviously on ratio, time, temp, etc.) but i can attest that light roasts and even some whacky stuff like co-ferments can turn out really lovely (in my opinion) in cold-brew form. just be prepared for some potentially big swings in flavor!
Does the smoke really cling to the beverage without alcohol? I'm yet to get a smoking kit so I'm curious. Also, you can use the back of your spoon to muddle the sugar cube.
With coffee drinks, I’ll almost always smoke the drink lightly even if I’ve already smoked the glass. It’s not as long lasting as with cocktails but if served quickly, the effect is still very much there
I'm so excited to try that clarified drink! I'm curious whether you think just adding strained whey (leftover after making yogurt or ricotta) to the coffee citrus mixture would get you the same result?
Hello, I know that this has nothing to do with the video, but, I was wondering how long do coffee beans last in your grinder? I keep them in there as I make coffee, which is not every day anymore. Thanks
this was an Awesome video Thank You and hope there are still some good coffee shops in Good Ol Portland. And I still remember Portlandia being a very good show
These look delightful! I've been wanting to try clarification for awhile, so maybe this will be the drink to make me take the plunge! Do you do anything with the curds afterwards?
My daughter is as fair complected as you appear to be - would you tell me which foundation and powders you are using? Ty. Enjoyed seeing the fancy added to my favorite coffee ...
I want to add one more - super simple and great if you enjoy the flavor of the cold brew on it's own (diluted, of course). Cold Brew 1:1 with Sparkling Mineral water (I use Perrier). Not only does it fizz a bit, which is nice, the mineral water does a fun and strange thing - it makes the Cold Brew taste slightly sweet. I serve this in a cup right out of the freezer to keep it cold as I'm not a huge fan of ice (I just keep a few Yeti style cups with a little cold brew in the bottom in the freezer so it doesn't dilute).
I'd be interested in your Cold Brew method as well. I've settled into a lazy approach - med-course grind - in a 2L pitcher, start with very warm water to get the coffee blooming and let it sit on the counter for a few hours, then into the fridge for 2 days. Filter and store the concentrate in the fridge - flavor generally doesn't change for 2-3 weeks, but it never makes that long. I do this all year long and I randomly add spice while brewing to infuse and some, like Cayenne or Ginger work well.
You probably don't want Navel orange juice. Navels are intended for eating and have a higher proportion of pulp to juice than classic juice oranges, like Valencias.
Might not seem obvious but I definitely have been noticing less jumps and cuts through your longer spoken phrases compared to vids a year ago. You're a step closer to Daddy Hoff level speaking skills 🔥
I love your channel and the ideas behind your drinks so much!!! But... I would love to have you take on a challenge where you make a drink for someone with Citrus fruit allergies~ I have them - and it means no lemons, lime, pineapple, mango, granny smiths, oranges, or any citrus-y berries (and even no tomato!!). It makes me finding a yummy flavored drink SO difficult. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE coffee, but I wish I could participate too! 😅
Hey, great idea! Most of the signature milk drinks I’ve made over the years (most living on IG or TT) are citrus-free but I’ll take this as a little personal challenge to put together a few that aren’t milk or citrus based :)
While I’m definitely doing more drink work here, I’ll likely always be mostly in the mocktail/NA category! My goal with these is to show coffee utilized in drinks in somewhat more unconventional ways.
Isn’t the back of your barspoon a muddler? It appears that way to me. I love the old fashioned idea, but I don’t drink much cold coffee; perhaps this will change when I make this!
I do not understand those phrases. "Cold brew season", " Iced Coffee season"... I'll drink cold brew or iced coffee in -5 degrees, and brewed black coffee at 115. I've never understood the concept of assigning something I like to drink or eat, to a season, unless the reasoning is that Strawberries don't grow in freezing weathse.
I started watching the video because I like cold brew. When she started smoking the MF glass, I thought maybe I was just out of my league. Now, she just laughed and apologized because she doesn’t have a muddler to muddle. WTF IS A MUDDLER?!
First

The reverse side of your cocktail spoon can be used for muddling.
Morgan, I can definitely see you at a garden party.
Garden Party
Song by Rick Nelson & The Stone Canyon Band
I now have this song in my head.
I went to a garden party
To reminisce with my old friends
A chance to share old memories
And play our songs again
When I got to the garden party
They all knew my name
But no one recognized me
I didn't look the same
But it's all right now
I learned my lesson well
You see, you can't please everyone
So you got to please yourself
People came from miles around
Everyone was there
Yoko brought her walrus
There was magic in the air
And over in the corner
Much to my surprise
Mr. Hughes hid in Dylan's shoes
Wearing his disguise
But it's all right now
I learned my lesson well
You see, you can't please everyone
So you got to please yourself
I played them all the old songs
I thought that's why they came
No one heard the music
We didn't look the same
I said hello to "Mary Lou"
She belongs to me
When I sang a song about a honky-tonk
It was time to leave
But it's all right now
I learned my lesson well
You see, you can't please everyone
So you got to please yourself
Someone opened up a closet door
And out stepped Johnny B. Goode
Playing guitar like a ringing a bell
And lookin' like he should
If you gotta play at garden parties
I wish you a lotta luck
But if memories were all I sang
I'd rather drive a truck
But it's all right now
I learned my lesson well
You see, you can't please everyone
So you got to please yourself
And it's all right now, yeah
Learned my lesson well
You see, you can't please everyone
So you got to please yourself

I will LOVE to see how you make cold brew! Though I recenlty started to enjoy ice americano as well since coffee shops sometimes dont have cold brew

What coffee:water ratio do you recommend if we are making our own cold brew concentrate at home?

I wonder if clarifying the cold brew removes part of the caffeine in the coffee?
General Kenobi!
I'm stunned thats not a top comment on like 75% of your videos given your intro
🤣
The 'Equal Coffee Filter,' a coffee filter as perfectly beautiful as Japanese origami, has been gaining some buzz recently among us coffee geeks.
I loved this video!! I cant wait to try these😍
Can you do a non-dairy version of the clarified punch?
I would love a DIY cold brew video! Sounds like a cool experiment to try (pun not intended, happy to let it stay 😂)
literally put the coldbrew into the fridge a minute ago, thank you :3
I actually prefer my coffee hot but I do enjoy the occasional cold brew from the store.
I really want to see a video on how you make your cold brew 🥰
Jazzy Happy Birthday threw me off 😂
I see clarification as being similar to nitro, makes everything smoother, and creamier
I love everything about your videos
how do you always know what my current coffee obsession is wtf
I want to add one more - super simple and great if you enjoy the flavor of the cold brew on it's own (diluted, of course).

I want to try that smoked cold brew old fashioned SO badly 🥺
Liber & Co! Nice choice! That reminds me I need to order more orgeat. I'm temped to try to cold brew "mai tai" with an actual mai tai as the base.
this is how I learned that some people dilute their cold brew on purpose
Cold brew concentrate makes the brain go brrrrrr

Great video Morgan!
The slide is back!
Can you use a cloth coffee filter? Will it change the final product?
You can use a cloth filter but you may have to filter several times to get it as clear as possible. Really depends on the filter.
link for that specific frothing tool used here pls?
ngl the saline took me off guard, never heared it being used in the kitchen before
Long form cold brew video when?
Might not seem obvious but I definitely have been noticing less jumps and cuts through your longer spoken phrases compared to vids a year ago. You're a step closer to Daddy Hoff level speaking skills 🔥

Garden party. Or soiree perhaps? Ha ha 🙂 Suggestion: how about a video on hot chocolate?

see Morgan , teach us how to brew a beer at home, pls. ❤
Ohh snap, early in! ...'Cause I was watching other Morgan stuff, probably.
Could clarified milk be steamed like milk???

I do not understand those phrases. "Cold brew season", " Iced Coffee season"... I'll drink cold brew or iced coffee in -5 degrees, and brewed black coffee at 115. I've never understood the concept of assigning something I like to drink or eat, to a season, unless the reasoning is that Strawberries don't grow in freezing weathse.
The end of your mixing spoon was flat enough to serve as a muddler...(in a pinch for next time)
So today I drove by my local shop and thought "it's cold brew season" .
Note to self: I need a cocktail shaker.
Hi, do you have a go-to ratio/brew time for cold brew concentrate? Thanks!
Nooooo the tiny spoon corner is gone ;-;
Please do a kaffeost video! ?
I only drink cold brew...hot. 1 to 1 with hot water and warmed cold brew. Probably the best hot coffee.
What is that weird carafe/Brewer beside your award?
It’s a vandola, a Costa Rican coffee brewer
I started watching the video because I like cold brew.
When she started smoking the MF glass, I thought maybe I was just out of my league.
Now, she just laughed and apologized because she doesn’t have a muddler to muddle.
WTF IS A MUDDLER?!

It is, yes
