Ah, for the Old Days when Spy life was seen as cool, the cars were fast, guns and girls were faster. A tux was standard issue, along with a razor wit and knowing when to "open Channel D." No agnst or cynical nature here, just exotic locals and 'nefarious forces' to be brought down.
My favourite U.N.C.L.E movie too . When I hear that theme tune I want to look out my U.N.C.L.E I.D that I've had since I was a kid throw on the movie and be whisked back to the child I was when I saw it in the cinema in 1967
I always rated the slow motion , fast motion opening sequence to The Helicopter Spies , with a similar rendition of the theme music . It never appears now , anywhere , as far as I've seen .
Thanks for posting...used to hold a tape recorder to the television speaker just to get this theme as a kid....THEN after Tom Cruise made Mission impossible a rival to Bond, I prayed someone would do the same with UNCLE....and Guy Ritchie arrived...enough said 👎
Guy Ritchie's version was sacrilege . This was the best of the U.N.C.L.E. movies. I seen it in the cinema. I'd my U.N.C.L.E. I.d. card and bubble gum cards in my pockets as I saw it in 1967
When cool was really groovy, and my car was wicked. Hanging with the greasers at beachside, but eyeing the surfer girls. I dream of Jeanie and creepy crawlers.
From the web, it seems that The Helicopter Spies was a movie lifted from the 2 part UNCLE episode "The Prince of Darkness Affair" and some of this music appears on the Cd "Man from Uncle Volume Two" - see the Film Score Monthly website.
No, for me Gerald Fried One Of Our Spies Is Missing theme is best...especially the opening credits with the late great Robert Vaughan entrance into UNCLE headquarters cruising along the corridors...for me you can't get any cooler...RIP MY CHILDHOOD FRIEND
WOW! Thankyou Tri311. I've had this theme for a very long time but it was recorded from the film via cd and the quality is crap. Where did you get this version? I've been try in vain to get the 3 UNCLE albums Jerry Goldsmith made, it's impossible, so I am trying to get bits and pieces from YT. Thanks again Tri331
I love this version-makes me want to twist my ballpoint pen and open channel D.
Overseas relay.
My favourite UNCLE movie ,with the very best title theme arrangement..
TREMENDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO . Un deleite a los sentidos......!!!!!
damn.nelson riddle killed this theme!❤❤❤❤
Bloody fantastic to hear this. My all time face Uncle theme. Brilliant stuff. Thank you for posting this: love it!

Thanks for posting this "groovy" version of "The Man From
UNCLE". The late great Nelson Riddle as the chief arranger.

Me too!
You and me both!...then play it constantly.
I did the same thing. And I loathe Guy Ritchie's personal take on TMFU.
@@JavierDiazElObservador totally agree with you

Robert Vaughn said that this was his favourite episode/film he said he enjoyed making this one.
This is as good as Jerry Goldsmith .. funky jazzy brilliant .. and a great movie with nasty jack palance and sexy Janet Leigh
Love this adaption of a great theme tune .
If only Richie had played this in the movie he made
Great tune

Adoro esse episódio da série e a música é muito legal. Obrigada.
TOP CLASS THEME THANKS
Too Cool for the pool
I love this version but my absolute favourite is the one used for 'The Helicopter Spies'… but I can't find it anywhere 😞

Think I probably got it from some of the full tracks on the Film Score Monthly webpage years ago
@@MegaHenman Thanks for sharing. As I said, they are impossible to get. One cd in the USA is asking over $150. That's mad, and greedy.
Groovy.
