It was offered to her because the queens dresser wouldn't give her the Tiara she picked, when the Spencer's offered the Tiara rf said she could have the Tiara she chose. The tiara won't be passed to Princess Charlotte because it belongs to the Spencer's
Of course she wouldn't have turned down the chance to wear something of Diana's.. She'd have wet her panties all the way up the blue carpet for it. But she had NO RIGHT to be offered it in the first place..it's THE SPENCER TIARA - and although it's owned by the current Earl Spencer, it is for the Spencer family, worn by Spencer women. Diana was a Spencer by birth, a very old and aristocratic family, and although the Queen had gifted Diana the use of the Lover's Knot Tiara as a wedding gift, she still chose the Spencer Tiara for her Wedding, which IMO showed off the wealth and status of her own family.. A wonderful choice indeed.
When the Spencer Tiara is mentioned I think a majority of people immediately think of Diana wearing this beautiful piece of jewelry. The tiara was not widely known before she walked down the aisle on her wedding day. But over the years she was married thousands upon thousands of pictures where taken of her wearing this tiara, it became emblematic for her. I cannot help thinking that ladies wearing this tiara knows that they will be compared to Diana.......and that people are likely to think that Diana wore it better.
@lornapalmer6426 There's no way that she was offered the Tiara. Never mind the fact that she was marrying a Windsor, not a Spencer, none of Diana's siblings liked her. They all saw right through her, so Earl Spencer would never loan her the Tiara. He knew that the Queen had many z Tiaras to choose from and would offer several to Meghan from which to choose. Unfortunately, Angela Kelly didn't know that the Emerald Tiara had already been promised to Eugenie. There is no way on God's Green Earth that. Meghan would have turned down the chance to wear the same Tiara as Diana had worn. Both Harry and Meghan are known/chronic liars, so why would you believe anything that either of them say or write?
Don't worry, it will. It's part of the estate and can't be given away. I think it's part of the entail and gets passed down from Earl to Earl. One generation to the next.
As a pre-teen girl watching the royal wedding back in 1981, I absolutely fell in love with that tiara. The sparkle, as Diana walked down the aisle, was breath-taking! True fairy tale princess.
Once I had seen Princess Diana wear her stunning wedding Tiara I wished only for a Diamante Tiara for my own wedding day, back in the 80s. I brought one and absolutely loved it! Still treasure that for one day of my life I got to wear a "diamond" Tiara with a beautiful long veil that draped over past the hem of my wedding dress 😂

No. The Spencer tiara belongs to the Spencer women. While Charlotte is Earl Spencer’s great niece it doesn’t entitle her to the tiara. The Earl has daughters of his own.

I never believed the rumour that the Spencer tiara would be given away to anyone, royal or otherwise. It belongs to whoever happens to be the current Earl. Why would he give it away?
Nor should, *will*. It is a family heirloom that belongs to the Eafl and will be passed down to the next Earl for his wife, his daughters, and any other Spencer woman to whom he chooses to loan it. No ifs, abdz or buts about it. Charlotte will NOT inherit the Spencer Tiara. One day, Catherine and William may have one made as a gift to Charlotte for her wedding, to wear for occasions that require it, and pass it down to her daughter one day, just like the Queen did for Anne

No it’s the Spencer Tiara. It stays with the Spencer family. Charolette will have her pick as someday she will bePrincess Royal like Anne. And I know you know that. 😊
I do not think this tiara was even on the table for HRH the Duchess of Sussex due to it belonging to another family. Also, unless Princess Diana's brother, would be willing to part with it, I do not think we will ever see HRH Princess Charlotte wearing it. I suspect we will see it again on a member of the immediate Spencer family such as the current Countess or someone like Lady Kitty Spencer.
Also both of the Earl Spencer 's daughters didn't marry in the UK, so it could be tricky to travel with the tiara. So maybe the next Spencer bride, who will marry in the country will wear it .
Louise's wife is most likely. Diana's mother wore it when she married Diana's father because he was going to be the next Earl. At the time, he was Viscount Althorpe
These things are always inherited down the male line, so would go to Earl Spencers son, but would be loaned out to ladies in the family for weddings etc after they come of age, so Earl Spencer's daughters and any grandchildren.
Charlotte WILL NOT inherit the Spencer tiara, the clue is in the nameSPENCER. It belongs to the Earl and will be passed down to his son when he becomes Earl. Charlotte will have plenty of tiaras to chose from when her mother is Queen.
I imagine it would be rather heavy with the setting of gold. I would love to see it in person someday. I know the current Earl is not on great terms with his children from his first marriage, but I hope he is able to repair that with his heir Louis before he dies. He’s still a relatively young man and has time.
Regardless of his relationship with his children, including the Heir, Louis will inherit everything because that's how it goes with the Law of Primogenitor.
May I ask. Because I keep seeing this same question posted over and over again. ( Will Charlotte inherited the Spencer tiara ? ) The answer to that question is no. Yes Charlotte is Diana,s grand- daughter. But Charlotte is not a Spencer. She carries Princes William's of the Royal family last name , not the Spencer's name. The tiara is handed down to whatever Earl is in charge of the Spencer family at the time . Who has total control of what is done with it . Which they keep in the family volt. And is known will stay within the Spencer family forever. Even the Spencer ladies have no say over it. They can only ask to borrow it to wear to get married in but that's it . Even the Spencer Earl's daughters can not own the Spencer tiara. It's only passed down to each Earl in charge of the Spencer family at any given time . Nor is it known to have ever been worn at any other time but a Spencer daughter's wedding. They have a family reason for this. Most likely to name the names of the Spencer ladies who wore it and with dates and time's included of their weddings. Adding to the Spencer long history. Were the Spencer Earl keeps it in their family volt. It's apart of the Spencer history itself. Besides , Diana's and her brother the Earl now. Own mother wore this tiara at her own wedding. So it has sentimental value to it for the Spencer family as well. Being it's been in the family for a very long time. I don't think the Earl has any plans of it ever leaving the family. Or any future Spencer Earl's either for that matter . I believe they has instructions handed down to the next Earl in line. How the Spencer tiara is to be handled. Sorry no disrespect intended here. Just stating the facts. Much respect.
HRH Princess Charlotte won't inherit it, as it belongs to the Spencers (specifically the earl, her great-uncle). However, she *might* be allowed to wear it at some point since she is Diana's granddaughter. It would be lovely if we see Charlotte wear it, sort of like a complete circle.
@@RoyalFashionNews Oh, I'm so sorry, I don't know how I missed that! I do hope she has a chance to wear it one day, though, even if just for one occasion.
I think it is very possible that Princess Charlottes first tiara may well be the Cartier Halo Tiara that her mother wore on her wedding day. This has been previously worn by Princess Margaret to the Coronation in 1953 and the 17 year old Princess Anne wore it for the first time to the State Opening of Parliament in 1967 and continued to wear it for several years until her marriage when she started to wear more grander tiaras. It remained in the Royal vault for almost 40 years before the then Catherine Middleton wore it for her wedding in 2011. The Royal Family have no claim to the Spencer Tiara and certainly neither the Princess of Wales or Princess Charlotte need it when they have a vault full of spectacular tiaras. Meghan Markle only wore a tiara once during her very brief time as a working member of the Royal Family and that was on her wedding day but if the rumours are true after the pre-wedding tiara tantrums Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II banned her from borrowing anything from her personal jewellery collection.
Isn’t there a thing about the first bride of each female line descending from the late Queen wearing the same tiara for their wedding? Princess Anne and Princess Beatrice wore the same tiara for their weddings as their mother/grandmother. I think the expectation is that Charlotte will follow the tradition.
Another fabulous as well as educational video by RFN. I believe that the Spencer tiara is very much enchanting and magical. And thank you for spending time identifying and quashing the inaccurate information in the book. I love that Earl Spencer has complete control over the tiara as it adds a whole different dimension to Royalty vs Aristocracy. BTW, if a tiara can be used for a lifetime by whoever the Queen/Monarch lends it to for their wedding, then what happens to the tiara worn in harry's wedding? Does the option of being the only one to wear the wedding tiara the Queen lent to the wife disappear because they are no longer working royals? Does it return to the vault until harry's wife's demise or divorce? Thank you again for all your loving hard work that goes into your videos
I have noticed that in the BRF tiaras which are loaned to royal brides are rarely, if ever re-worn by that bride. Catherine only wore the Cartier Halo tiara for her wedding, but has not worn it since, the same with Princesses Anne and Beatrice and Eugenie who have not re-worn their wedding tiaras. Princess Beatrice wore her mother's tiara on a recent tiara outing in Jordan. Sarah's tiara was a newly purchased gift from the Queen. Sarah did wear hers again. I am pretty sure Sophie's was also a gift, re-worked from existing jewellery owed by the BRF. Sophie has re-worn her tiara several times. So, if Meghan had needed a tiara for an event after her marriage, I think the Queen would have loaned a different (probably insignificant one) for her use. Because of its association with that despicable woman, I doubt that the Queen Mary Bandeau tiara will make another appearance for many years, which is a pity, as I thought it was really lovely.
I think it would be awesome if there were an occasion for Charlotte to wear it. She looks so much like Diana and has her name. I think it would be a way William could, again, honor the memory of his mother.
I think if the Spencer family was gonna let anyone outside the Spencer family wear it, they would’ve offered it to Catherine, because she was marrying William
It seemed to be yet another play to try to tie Meghan to Diana. I believe the tiara is held in the family trust. The fact that many of us explain & reexplained constantly & people still had problems understanding was mind-boggling.
I think Princess Charlotte shall one day wear the "Lover's Knot" tiara which has been worn by Princess Diana and Princess Catherine. I hope to se Princess Catherine wearing a more impressive tiara soon, hopefully the Vladimir Tiara with either the emeralds or the pearls. There is some massive aquamarine jewelry and I think it would be nice to take some of those stones and use them with the Vladimir tiara.
I'm a fan of the fringe tiara. Worn by the eldest Princess in each generation. The kate Queen (when she married as Princess Elizabeth), Princess Anne, Princess Beatrice and one day, Princess Charlotte, should she marry.
Well I understand not gifting The tiara to Charlotte I do think it would be lovely when she gets older for her to wear it as an homage to her grandmother I think it would be very beautiful for her to to show the between the Spencers and the Windsors
It's extremely unlikely for the Earl to offer it to her, and it would look odd if she didn't wear one of the Royal tiaras, unless of course, one were made for her as a 21st birthday or wedding present like was done for princess Anne
Brittany, if you look at how glittery Diana’s sparkling Spencer tiara was, and then compare it to MM’s tiara, it’s easy to see that MM’s doesn’t sparkle in the least, and looks a lot like something that came from Claire’s for little girls. There were a LOT of rumors that after Tiaragate in the run up to the wedding, the Queen decided to give Medusa a fake tiara because she didn’t trust her not to try to keep it, or take it and sell off the diamonds, or something. And I believe it. There was perfect sunlight on that May Day in 2018, but that tiara of MM’s never reflected any light.
Why would you comment on Harry’s book if you didn’t read it? Your bias is showing. Like you keep saying, that doesn’t make sense! Tiaras are kept in the family, with women in the family having access with permission. Royal tiaras are lent out, usually for a bride on her wedding day. Other families loan to their own.
Never claimed to not have a bias, as everyone does, but I was genuinely surprised by the writing style, which was much more casual than I was anticipating so I commented on it. Thats all! Kept for watching!!
The Earl of Spencer, who is the owner of the tiara and the one who says who gets to wear it, confirmed that the tiara was NEVER offered to Meagain to wear. That was another lie in Waaah that was easily fact checked!
I never understood why Diana only wore the Lover's knot tiara from the RF collection, when the RF has so many (some we had even forgotten like the tiaras worn at their weddings by Kate, Meghan and Eugenie)
The Queen doesn’t seem to have been overly generous with her tiara loans, especially until her later years..Anne and Sophie didn’t get much of a look in when they were younger.
@@cathyblackhall5237 Maybe they each found a particular Tiara that they liked and just stuck with it. The Queen said one of the Tiaras gave her a headache. Or was it Diana who said that?

It belongs to Earl Spencer. Of course it will stay with the Spencer family.
I really hope that Princess Catherine will get some new tiaras and maybe princess Charlotte wil get a tiara especially designed for her.
I hope the elderly have warm homes this winter and enough food to eat
Beautiful close ups. Thank you
Harry doesn’t want to admit it wasn’t allowed! You know she would have worn it in a minute!! 😂
Plus would have ‘lost’ it just like the one she wore. The Earl was wise to say ‘No’
Charlotte WILL NOT inherit the Spencer tiara, the clue is in the nameSPENCER. It belongs to the Earl and will be passed down to his son when he becomes Earl. Charlotte will have plenty of tiaras to chose from when her mother is Queen.
Gorgeous tiara, even though the BRF has so many of them it would be lovely if Charlotte borrowed it from her great uncle.♥
Highly unlikely
@@Rumkitty2000 You're probably correct but, on the outside chance that Charlotte might want it for her wedding I highly doubt her uncle would say no.
@@lydiapicano8806 Who knows? How close are they to their great uncle? Do they know him like they do Diana's sisters?
That occasion is 20 years away
Why speculate now? They don't obsess about/over Diana like MM & Haz do.
@@Rumkitty2000 Yes, just thinking out loud.
Sotheby’s is pronounced like this …. “ Suth-er-by’s” … the way you would pronounce a “Southerly “ wind for instance
I ADORE the Spenser tiara!
Ummm…I mean, Spencer! 🤦♀
No, the Royal family will not inherit it. Spencers will wear it.
@@Rumkitty2000Yes I’m aware of that
shame tge pictures of other family members heads are cut of and we can’t see the tiara!
It is beautiful
No, its the Spencer Tiara. It stays with her Brother The Current Earl and his family.
i just realized Charles Spensor's daughter married a man older than her father.
Yes, I mention that she won't inherit it, nor do I think she will ever wear it. Thanks for watching!!
I absolutely agree!
1. NOT royal or HRH
2. Ainlse kid NO relation to HRH Princess Diana or the Spencers
@@RoyalFashionNews Oh, I'm so sorry, I don't know how I missed that! I do hope she has a chance to wear it one day, though, even if just for one occasion.
Only Diana worn it as the most iconic & beautiful than all the others !
Charlotte will get what the King decides
Yes. Megsy will never get her paws on another piece of the Royal jewelry for the rest of her life.
I think it would be awesome if there were an occasion for Charlotte to wear it. She looks so much like Diana and has her name. I think it would be a way William could, again, honor the memory of his mother.
Charlotte may wear it but it will remain in the Spencer Family. 👸
I think if the Spencer family was gonna let anyone outside the Spencer family wear it, they would’ve offered it to Catherine, because she was marrying William
Obviously it wasn't offered
The late Queen decided what brides wore. Meghan disobeyed her by wearing white and a virginal veil even though it was her third marriage
It seemed to be yet another play to try to tie Meghan to Diana. I believe the tiara is held in the family trust. The fact that many of us explain & reexplained constantly & people still had problems understanding was mind-boggling.
No.. It belong to the Spencer family GET REAL.
The Spencer tiara stays in the Spencer family. It belongs to Diana's brother, Earl Spencer. The Spencer woman can wear it but that's all.
Why would you speculate that Princess Charlotte would inherit it? It is the property of the Spencer family. Earl Spencer's son will inherit it.
You should take the time and listen to the video that already stated those very points.

I think the Spencer tiara was offered. I think it was more polite to wear something the queen had offered instead.
Maybe that's the one she liked.
