At about 1 hour in you see hows Steves dice thoroughly help him by defying statistics and then instantly betray him by defying statistics!! Brilliant batrep guys really enjoyable. I've recently got into Heresy and have started playing Wolves and have been struggling to figure them out / how to play them so this was super helpful! Thanks Steve for all the tips and well played Ben!
Hate to say it, but the BlackWatch RoW [the one with Hatred(Traitors) and Preffered Enemy (Primarchs)] may only be chosen for an Allied Detachment, never a Primary Detachment.
Yup youre 100% right and thats on me, i just briefly glanced at the book and missed that part of it haha. First time playing 2nd ed and there was a lot to process
Are you using Hammer of Olympia RoW? Bacause Fury Of Olympia gives you an additional shot, REGARDLESS, if you moved or not, so the Tacticals always fire 2 shots at 18" and 3 at 9", even after moving/disembarking ✌🏼
13:00 don't you allocate all the precision shot wounds out to who you want in the squad before saves are made (since you generate the full wound pool from the weapon the unit is firing before the other player normally choses where to allocate the wound pool), so if you assigned 2 shots to 1 model and the 1st killed it the 2nd would be wasted, rather than assigning them 1 at a time after seeing what the previous shot did. 27:25 Space Wolves troops have Skirmish so its everyone within 3" rather than 2" so more should have been able to shuffle up into combat range 1:14:40 Since its just Pert and 1 robot left the WS used to calculate being hit would be Perts WS7 not the robots WS4
@@jackwhorton6826 So the wound is not wasted but it is allocated by the defending player, so for example: the attacker could not put 5 wounds on the sgt then when it dies put the rest onto the vexilla/vox etc, the attacker would have to put 3 on the sgt 1 on the vex 1 on the vox and any left over the defending player would put on to basic marines from how I read it?
Don't worry Steve. If there was a bloodthirsty hound charging me with the intent to murder, I would also shoot them. But, like you, I would feel bad about it.
Sorry I can't find it, but can you point me towards why you say Fearless units can't Hold The Line? I know they can't Evade, but I thought Hold the line was fine (especially since they auto pass the morale)
@@benbiddiss336 No it doesn't. You just lose the benefits of heavy, since they require the whole unit to have the heavy subtype. There is no rule, that states, that a heavy unit looses its heavy subtype, when it is joined by a unit of a different subtype. Otherwise you could join a Priest and they magically could run and charge, like every other non-heavy SW infantry unit, but that's not how the rule works.
@@MountainMiniatures you'll need to outfit the joininging char with a Boarding Shield, that way the joined unit keeps its Heavy bonuses, but the Char has to sacrifice one melee attack, depending on its weapon loadout.
Around the 56 minute mark, a return fire reaction can not cause a morale check for more than 25% unit killed
Sounds like Ben is running the Black Watch ROW which is only available to allied detachments, not primary.
Yup i realise that now, at the time it was my first game of 2nd ed and id briefly glanced at the book as we were getting ready to start playing

what a great batrep ! please keep the heresy games coming!
Steve! For the next BR remember Perty's warlord trait for moral checks! Hahah gg guys!
Steve: "I will call the cocks"
It is known.
Not the doggos...Steve you monster 😱

recorded this game a while ago, but if i was using HoO i was firing extra shots, if i wasnt firing extra shots i wasnt using HoO
Steve shoots at space puppies, John le-wick gets revenge in the old world! 😂
Keep up the Heresy content please. Amazing table again. Not played Primarchs yet, seems they dominate or just lick each other up!
I think Deathsworn are heavy just to get the +1WS on the charge from the Space Wolves legion trait?

Nope. If there are leftover wounds in a wound pool and the model is dead then you re assign them to a fresh model. See page 187 of the rulebook.

Just bolters on the stalkers? You can get bolters and chainswords on them all for not many extra points
The Space Wolves should return the helmets made by furries.

they can hold the line, what are you talking about?
@@MountainMiniatures sorry, don't have timestamp but you said a dreadnought couldn't hold the line because it was Fearless.
@@anonymousgeoff5399 gonna need a time stamp for that one. Fearless means it would auto pass hold the line.
@@MountainMiniatures @56:45 when Perturabus is charging Leviathan.

Pert snipes out all 4 powerfists. Thats just rude.
It's a dog!!! Show some compassion Steve!!!!!!
Stick a non heavy character with deathsworn.... no more heavy
thats literally worse. you still have all the negatives of being "heavy", but now you can benefit from the pros of "heavy"
@@MountainMiniatures not really. The unit loses Heavy completely. They lose the reroll Vs blast , but can run and don't suffer -1 to I for reactions .
