I’m born and bred Shrewsbury. I’ve worked all over the country and seen the big cities and towns . I’ve always loved coming home. Shrewsbury is beautiful, Shropshire is beautiful. Countryside on our doorstep
Hope you enjoyed your visit to our beautiful county town of Shrewsbury, maybe you should revisit when the weathers better 😀 hope poppy’s paw is okay ❤️
I was living in Shrewsbury for many years but now live in nearby Telford. My first wife grew up on Little Oxon Farm which is where your campsite is now situated. My daughter and step daughter both live in Shrewsbury. I love the town and its quaint shops. Thank you for your video.
Thank you for a great tour of Shrewsbury. If you do make it back there, try to visit Quarry Park and The Dingle Gardens. They hold The Shrewsbury Flower Show there each year. Poppy will love it. Hope her paw is better soon.
Hi Bob & Jenny the grave to Ebenzer Scrooge is located in St Chads church from the film A Christmas Carol with George C Scott, definitely worth a visit 👍
We had 5 very happy years in Shropshire and off course Tilly is from Wem. We loved walking up Grinshill with great views from the top. Unfortunately I think the Inn there is now closed, was great when it was open.
It’s a lovely place to wander round. We visited whilst at “Love to Stay” but we got an Uber into the city. Some lovely buildings and shops. A real treat to walk around there 😀 Trev
We loved Shrewsbury and hope to visit again one day. There is a beautiful window in St Julians(?) church if you get the chance to go in and see it. I hope Poppy's paw is ok, bless her.
Thanks Bob and Jenny a really interesting video and we live about an hour from Shrewsbury in the West Midlands and actually my home town of Halesowen has a shared history as sir Roger de Montgomery earl of Shrewsbury was the lord of the manor and for centuries was a detached part of Shrewsbury! It’s such a lovely place and so historic and so much to see and do as you said one place we like to go is Attingham Park which is a NT at nearby Atcham and is well worth visiting for the house and grounds and also the British ironwork museum in between Shrewsbury and Oswestry is an interesting place! Hope poppys foot is ok and hope you both have warmed up after this cold snap!
We always drive through Shrewsbury but never get to stop and have a look, looks nice and historic, we were meant to be on a rally up near the prison but with mum not well not been out for a while. Nice to see they have a doggy friendly cafe. Hope Poppy's paw is ok or maybe she had mud on it.
Really enjoyed this one. Shrewsbury is not too far from us so that car park would be handy if we wanted to do a day out. I would love to go to the prison as I’ve not done that before. Hope Poppy’s paw is ok. Take care Gill
Great vlog tonight both….I’m just down the road in Welshpool if you want to call in for a cuppa …..been following you both for couple of years after we treated ourselves to our first Motorhome two years ago now ….enjoy Shrewsbury happy Christmas to you both x
I live near Shrewsbury being born and bred a Shropshire lad, it was interesting seeing my home.town through the eyes of a tourist. There's loads to see, but a few good places for you to find.. the Cathedral down town walls. The castle and the old prison near by. St chads, the Dingle and quarry park. Near to where you were staying it the old Shelton mental hospital, its homes now but still worth a look. After the garage you spotted cheapish fuel you missed Darwin's home that he grew up in. There's loads more but hope that helps.
When we stayed there we caught the P&R bus twice. We enjoy a good walk so on the first occasion we walked in and bused back. The second time it was raining so we decided to bus it both ways. The return ticket was cheaper than the single. Thinking this was a mistake I queried it. The driver said the fares were deliberately structured that way because no one walks in from a P&R stop. I still marvel at that logic,
There is a good vets at "Old Potts way" if Poppy needs her paw checking over. There was some more of the Abbey over the road from the main building.....Thomas Telford went straight through it with the road instead of going around it for some reason!
I had a shop on the high st in the early 2000s for 5 years , having had 4 shops Shrewsbury was my most successful till unfortunately due to my mum having dementia it took us to close down ( mum comes first ) luck for us the internet was our option and 20 years on still trading with much success ( ruby Tuesdays vintage home)
It’s was snowing here in Burton upon Trent today. I hope you have both taken your thermals. I hope Poppy’s paw is better very soon, poor little girl. I like Poppy’s jacket, could you tell me where it come from please as I’d like to get one for Coco. Thanks.
Ah, my new hometown since May; I bought a place near the Abbey. I’ve lived on and off in Shropshire for about the last 45 years, but Shrewsbury is new to me. It’s such a nice size, everything is here that you’d want in a small town, and the architecture is just stunning. Love the place.

Good to be proud, lovely town.
Hi Bob and Jenn and Poppy, it looks lovely in Shrewsbury, oldie worldie buildings. Poor little Pops x Thank you for taking us with you x
Yes very picturesque.
Little note from a local: it's Shroozebury or Shoozebury. Not Shrowsbury. Excellent video tho!

Thank you for a great tour of Shrewsbury. If you do make it back there, try to visit Quarry Park and The Dingle Gardens. They hold The Shrewsbury Flower Show there each year. Poppy will love it. Hope her paw is better soon.
Thanks for the tips.
That was very interesting. Shrewsbury reminded me of Tewkesbury and Exeter also old parts of Bristol.
Hope poppy is OK..
Yes, it's great to see these old buildings and streets.
The town looks lovely, thanks for the walk, hope Poppy's foot is better and you have dried out and warmed up. Take care.

I live across the road from the co-op, not the greatest part of Shrewsbury
Shrewsbury - it wishes it was Cheltenham. But it isn't.
And what does Cheltenham wish it was? 😂
Tbf, lived in both, and Shrews wins hands down !
