  • This weeks session works on technical passing work and movements used with passing and receiving the ball.
    Exercises:
    Warm up - Players move into the middle, jump and bump shoulders before returning to their line and progressing to the next cone where they conduct the same. At the last red cone, they race to the end yellow cone.
    Next players face each other and must turn and race to the next cone, this should be completed at each cone. Players conducting this twice, with each player taking a turn to instigate the races.
    Lastly players squat down and sidestep to circle around each other then back to each cone.
    For the passing drill the 4 passing variations are listed below:
    1 - Bounce pass to middle then middle moves to receive on back foot and plays through to opposite side within 2 touches, then returns to middle to repeat with new side. This repeats until coach calls to change over.
    2 - A bounce pass with middle, then outside plays long to opposite side, then follows up to become middle player. Original middle player takes up the first players spot.
    3 - Ball is played in to middle player who rolls off the shoulder to take the ball around the mannequin and passes to the opposite side. This repeats until the coach calls to swap over.
    4 - The ball is played from the middle to the outside who then drives the ball towards the mannequin and takes it around before playing a pass to the opposite side, this repeats.
