Hey…I love this interview Lich!! Jimi sold me my very first REAL amplifier (Fender Showman Combo) at Creative Strings way back in 1985!! I was 15 at the time & I can confirm that his ‘shredding’ was just Jimi Bell being Jimi Bell. He was a peer in parallel for the timeframe…not a band-wagon-for-popularity jumper. The efficiency of his guitar technique was (& is still) stunning. The best of the best. (I had (& sort-of still have) an original alternative band called Frogboy hailing from New Britain CT in the 80’s. Our ‘Rap-Rock’ funky band was known for throwing unsuspecting twists into our guitar-oriented music. A large part of the goal was to make a musical impression but also make people smirk & have fun. (Think: Van Halen coupled with the Red Hot Chili Peppers). We were fortunate enough to have Jimi in our audience a few times (WHCN gigs). Getting approving smirks from Jimi was high-praise and we received ‘em!! ❤️ I’m glad he’s still tearing it up. Autograph is lucky to have him…they’ve got the real deal with Jimi…
Love Jimi. Loved watching him play in the days in Up State NY , back in the 80s. Don't even know how I ever squandered the chance to watch him in CT, while I lived there. One of the best live guitarists I have ever seen
This is a fantastic interview. Thank you!
Fantastic interview with a great guitarist and humble guy.
So many great thoughts and ideas. Thanks Jimi and Lich

Most of the detuned mud players don't even know who Al Demiola is.
