I love Dragon Ball so much.

The biggest issue with OG is that the first arc is too comedy centric (it started as a joke manga so it makes sense). It really doesn't start getting good until the Red Ribbon Saga or the first Tournament.
It's crazy that Goku was barely defeating General Blue with help, and Tao completely shuts him down before Goku even got the chance. That'd be like if Goku was supposed to go after Frieza if he couldn't even hang with Ginyu.
Tbf he couldn't hang with Ginyu. Dude jacked his body like it was a car off GTA and went on a joy ride with it and only lost because he screwed up by trash talking Vegeta.
Honestly, looking at this now, it looks like Quentin Tarantino ripped a good chunk of this off for the Pai Mei fight in Kill Bill 2. Certainly wouldn't be the first time Hollywood's been "influenced" by Anime.
Mercenary Tao was inspired by the Eagle claw master in Jackie Chan snake in the eagle shadow, the guy is an assasin trying to kill anyone who knows snake fist style. Tarintino was probably inspired by the same person although you could be right and he took influence from Tao too
