Thank you for this review. I've owned my HP2 since new, bought in August of 2006. I've put on about 60,000 km over the yrs. I still love it. I agree the odd day when I'm "on it" I feel I can eek out five seconds of brilliance on it; riding it as intended for that brief moment before crashing, figuratively, back to earth with my humble abilities. The best part of ownership is that the HP2 has something rarely found in exotics. Reliability. I've had reasonable (for any make, not just BMW) service and replacement parts costs. I've cycled through other models in the last 12 yrs but the HP2 has remained and remained the bike I put at least 5-10K on per yr. It's shown it's wear and tear off road. But I dig the scars even if it impacts it's value. And it's still a great tourer or back road bike. It's is a BMW after all. Rarer still are reviews of this great bike. Again, thank you for this.
Pity you didn't test a standard HP2. The bike in the video is heavily modified. In fact, very little on this bike that is standard. Wheelset, WP forks, headlight, seat, paint job on plastics, frame and FD, screen etc
Why BMW doesnt make 1 variant of the r9t like the hp2??Its so expensive for them to put a 21 inch front wheel and a long travel suspension??? I think they will have market.
The closest thing today to this bike would be a r nine t with the suspension modified and even that won't be close to this awesome machine. I think bmw should rethink making a new one for example using as base the r nine t and upgrading the front suspension with the one of the 850 and the rear one with the 1250.

BMW made it ,and Chris from the Awesome Players MC made it sing!
My goodness but that rake & trail is out there - more desert sled than tight enduro I imagine - looks amazing in any case! Thanks for the review!

Funny how at 2:40 the video talks about the rear air shock... but then the video shows a conventional shock.
Where was this headlight purchased? That is so sweet!
you can see this hp2 when i had it and rebuilt fd and rally kit
Every dirt/enduro guy’s fantasy…
Those roads are perfectly doable on my Rockster. You don’t need a heavily modified HP2 for that. Nicely done video never the less...
Daniel Kadar you'd blow the rockster's suspension on the first jump.
sqd8r You’re certainly right sir, i won’t argue with you! I also know my bike and my capabilities.👍🏻

Yes you would as the price goes up every year
my dad had a hp2 enduro but the one he's riding looks nothing like the stock ones.
I cut short watching this as it seemed to be either an ad or a drama series
"What this bike can REALLY do"? On a gravel straight highway? C'mon you cannot be serious man
Thats my old hp2
You have to be 9 foot tall to touch the floor !!!!
