Here I go again on a history rant to reveal some foundational truths to teams that have won multiple NBA Championships. This is strictly off my memory. For consistency I will start with the 1980’ Finals the first with the 3pt line. The Lakers, Celtics, Sixers, Pistons accounted for all the championships. Each team featured at minimum 4 HOF players, except the Pistons who CURRENTLY have 3. Granted these HOF players were in various stages of their careers. However they were contributing players on championship teams. ~ That decade alone is strike one against Lou Williams argument, of the solo superstar player winning a championship. • 90’s - Bulls, Rockets, Spurs. Each team in this decade had a minimum of two HOF players. Except the 93-94 Rockets - just Hakeem and the stellar role players. Great coach. Clyde only has the 94/95 championship. The Bulls of course had MJ & Scottie. Great role players. Zen Master as Coach. The Spurs had Duncan and DRob, stellar role players. Pops as Coach. • Trivia- there was one non Bulls player who won a ring other 3 Finals …. who was it? Hahaha Mario “Kiss of Death “ Elie! Yeah he was on the Rockets back to back championships, and he was a member of the 98:99 Spurs. • conclusion There was a singular exception, the 93/94 Rockets who only had one HOF player. The 90’s were the apex of team play, with defined roles for each position. Quality depth, great coaching. Led by elite HOF talents. Guys who are all arguably top 3 at their respective positions all time. MJ ~ no brainer. Duncan at PF Hakeem at Center. Strike two for Lou Williams one Superstar theory. • The 2000’s they would continue to remain near the apex of team play. With great coaching and stellar elite depth mixed with elite and clutch role players. Lakers, Heat, Celtics, Pistons, Spurs. Currently the Pistons are the only outlier. However, that Pistons team would be influential, along with the Spurs in changing the game as the league changed the hand check rule after the Spurs Pistons finals in 05’ Each team has at minimum, 2 HOF. Emphasis on team play, with great coaches. Lakers with Kobe and Shaq Early, Kobe and Pau to close out the decade. The Heat had D.Wade and Shaq. Again all teams had stellar role players, quality depth. And the coaches are a who’s who of coaching Phil Jackson, Pat Riley Larry Brown Pops Sheesh. Trivia: three men earned 5 rings in the 2000’s The Zen master as Coach Kobe Big Shot Rob… The Celtics are interesting study because of Doc Rivers. He’s won a lot of games. lol. But the other stuff. In a sense he’s the coaching outlier. • Welp that’s strike 3 to strike out Lou Williams argument. Why Well the 2010’s that’s when Bron went on spring break in Miami. That’s when the super team narrative began. Every team that has won a championship in the 2010’s had multiple HOF players. There had never been an era where the One Superstar winning a championship has been the rule. I’ve noted the outliers. Maybe one, per decade. • During Joe Dumars career, fans didn’t “see” HOF player. They saw very good player great career. But at the time most thought he’d be a good player, but just short of HOF. I say this because Jamaal Murray still has a long career ahead of him. He may be one of those Dumars type guys who will benefit from the overall success of the team. #BasketHistorian I’m like a Basketball Griot. This off the top. lol. I love this game !
MJ couldn't win shit until Pippen got on that team. MJ would be destroyed in this era. MJ faced zero dynasties and played weak finals competition. Never beat Larry, and Larry would get trashed in this era. Thats like Bron never beating KD, although KD is light years better then Bird.
The Miami Heat were one of the weakest superteams ever constructed in NBA history. The Lakers had Kobe and Shaq and were a superteam: 1) The 2003-04 Lakers, which already featured O'Neal and Bryant and signed Gary Payton and Karl Malone, were a superteam by definition. And so was the 2012-2013 Los Angeles Lakers with Bryant, Gasol, Howard, and Steve Nash. And why don't you ever criticize the Bucks, the present superteams of the Celtics and Clippers?
@@Mandownsports Of course it was a superteam, by definition, but you already know my opinions on EFFECTIVE vs INEFFECTIVE superteams or superteams on PAPER vs. Superteams' on-court production. I don't care about THEORY, only about what ACTUALLY happened -- reality.
Kobe and Shaq was not a súper team when they won a three peat they were a duo with a bunch of role players Lakers in 04 when they got Payton and mail man there were past there prime The Heat were all in there prime
Your criticism is too one-sided. Look at the video image: It features the Miami Heat with LeBron. Why not show other superteams that were much stronger than the Miami Heat?
@@Mandownsports Only a small minority of people hold the opinion that Kobe is better than LeBron, but most top analysts who actually understand that the stats, while not everything, are very meaningful and that skills include more than just fancy dribbling and flashy footwork, know that LeBron is superior to Kobe. Just because you have an opinion on the matter does not make your opinion equivalent to fact. Facts are objectively true, independent of what you or I think. Why is that so hard to understand?
@@Mandownsports I don't think LeBron is worried about being compared to Kobe. To Jordan, yes, but to Kobe, no. There is a reason why all the GOAT debates never have Kobe in them.
@@ScottRachelson777 it actually is a fact that Kobe is a better basketball player than Lebron. The game was evented for you to WIN by SCORING and STOPPING your opponent from scoring. Kobe did all of those things better than Lebron and that's the entire sport. You don't win but recording the most stats unfortunately
@@Mandownsports Those are your own facts, dude, come on, really? You have got to be kidding me. You obviously don't know the difference between "subjective" and "objective." Let me rehash my distinction between these two terms in the context of your claim that "Kobe is better than LeBron": Your claim is not entirely accurate and reflects a subjective opinion rather than an objective fact. Here's why: Subjectivity: Comparing players in any sport involves subjective judgments based on personal criteria and preferences. While some may argue that Kobe Bryant was a better basketball player than LeBron James based on specific skills or accomplishments, others may disagree and favor LeBron for different reasons. Complexity of the Game: Basketball is a multifaceted sport that encompasses various skills and contributions beyond just scoring and defense. While scoring and defense are crucial aspects, other factors such as playmaking, rebounding, leadership, versatility, and impact on team success also play significant roles in evaluating a player's overall greatness. Statistics: Statistics can provide valuable insights into a player's performance, impact, and contributions to their team's success. While scoring and defense are important, other statistical categories such as assists, rebounds, steals, blocks, efficiency metrics, and advanced analytics can offer a more comprehensive understanding of a player's capabilities and effectiveness on the court. Individual vs. Team Success: While individual accolades and statistics are important, basketball is ultimately a team sport. A player's greatness is often measured not only by individual achievements but also by their ability to elevate their team and contribute to team success, including winning championships. Both Kobe Bryant and LeBron James have had remarkable careers with significant individual accomplishments and team success, making it challenging for subjectively-minded people definitively declare LeBron "better" than the Kobe. In conclusion, the claim that Kobe Bryant is definitively a better basketball player than LeBron James based solely on scoring and defense is subjective and overlooks the complexity of the game, the importance of statistics beyond scoring and defense, and the broader criteria used to evaluate players' greatness. Ultimately, opinions on this matter will vary depending on individual perspectives and criteria for greatness. You fall victim to this type of subjective analysis countless times. I've explained that LeBron is superior in all of the stats most correlated to Win%. The objective in NBA basketball Is to win and the player that helps their team do that better is the better player. Note winning more championships does not amount to a single player on a team helping their team more toward winning. There is a distinction but it's probably lost on you. You are in a very small minority of mostly UA-cam content creators and followers who think Kobe is better than LeBron. I am so happy that your channel, as well as a host of others, have motivated the creation of other channels whose content counters the subjective stuff bandied about on your channel. "Goat James Kingdom" and "SYF Sports Debates." Many others too. Also, check out Dean Oliver's work. Oliver is widely acknowledged as the godfather of Modern Sports Analytics. I suspect that at the end of LeBron's career, all of the brainwashed UA-cam followers who have been lied to and propagandized about Kobe over LeBron, will be completely disabused of that ridiculous notion once and for all.
Pippen had a better career without Jordan than Jordan did without Pippen. Sure Jordan scored alot, but he didn’t win anything until Pippen came around. It’s not the same vice versa. Pippen was a co-star on the Bulls who was humble enough to let people call him robin (that term, much like point forward, didn’t exist before Pippen). That’s called sacrificing to win. However, i am sure he had no idea the robin term would follow him for the rest of his life. I saw the dude play. Best perimeter defender in the league, could score, rebound, assist. He was a top 5 player in the league.
This guy has no clue what he is talking about. Kills me seeing these kids talk about eras that they never witnessed or truly studied. Listen kid, Pippen was a top 5 top, top 10 player in the league at one point. He led the bulls when Jordan retired the first time and they still made the eastern conf finals. They almost made it back to the finals. Pippen revolutionized the game at his position. When people said point forward, they were referring to Pippen. The dude was considered one of the greatest SF ever while he was still playing and that guy isn’t a super star in your eyes? Wade is better? GTFOH…. Did you see Pippen Play????
Don't matter if Pippen is or is not a superstar, the point is the Bulls didn't have 3 prime Superstars which is what makes it a superteam. 2nd, I'll cashapp you $100 if you can tell me what year Pippen went to the ECF without MJ.

A rookie? Really? You comparing asking the front office to draft a rookie to Lebron teaming up with established allstars, superstars and franchise players in their prime? Lol 🤣
You can’t include Steph on that conversation. He stayed home. Players come to him. He did not go to their team. This player has been downgraded so much because it’s being done on Lebron’s clock.
We don't wanna include Steph because he is such a hard worker and a likable guy but he is definitely included in the "team up" movement along with Lebron, Wade and KD.
Wasn't Shaq the one to say if it was possible that he would have joined Chicago to play with Mike and Scootie? He sounds hypocritical, he was never going to get the same credit playing with mike
He saying it ain’t cool joining teams n u already a superstar u build where u at they mindset ain’t lik today this generation can’t do it by themselves they got to join forces real goat lik Kobe n Jordan stayd down til they came up Lebron join forces shaq still woulda been dominant
Giannis won with Middleton who was in the g League at one point the do this to hype up James and today's soft superstar Americans
Literally MJ pulls a LeGoat and superteams with the Bulls again, Shaq is his teammate haha
LeBron Queen I don't understand why the same issue coming up its far gone conclusion that he is nobody with a super team that's why 2020s era I hardly watch it cause is so hard to watch and it's not entertaining
Here I go again on a history rant to reveal some foundational truths to teams that have won multiple NBA Championships.
This is strictly off my memory.
For consistency I will start with the 1980’
Finals the first with the 3pt line.
• Trivia- there was one non Bulls player who won a ring other 3 Finals ….
who was it? Hahaha Mario “Kiss of Death “
Elie!
Yeah he was on the Rockets back to back championships, and he was a member of the 98:99 Spurs.
• conclusion
There was a singular exception, the 93/94 Rockets who only had one HOF player.
The 90’s were the apex of team play, with defined roles for each position.
Quality depth, great coaching. Led by elite HOF talents. Guys who are all arguably top 3 at their respective positions all time. MJ ~ no brainer.
Duncan at PF
Hakeem at Center.
However, that Pistons team would be influential, along with the Spurs in changing the game as the league changed the hand check rule after the Spurs Pistons finals in 05’
Each team has at minimum, 2 HOF.
Emphasis on team play, with great coaches.
Lakers with Kobe and Shaq Early, Kobe and Pau to close out the decade.
The Heat had D.Wade and Shaq.
Again all teams had stellar role players, quality depth.
And the coaches are a who’s who of coaching
Phil Jackson,
Pat Riley
Larry Brown
Pops
Sheesh.
Trivia: three men earned 5 rings in the 2000’s
The Zen master as Coach
Kobe
Big Shot Rob…
The Celtics are interesting study because of Doc Rivers.
He’s won a lot of games. lol. But the other stuff.
In a sense he’s the coaching outlier.
• Welp that’s strike 3 to strike out Lou Williams argument.
Why
Well the 2010’s that’s when Bron went on spring break in Miami.
#BasketHistorian
I’m like a Basketball Griot.
What does all of that mean?
Grab your baby bottle and go to sleep lol smh u sound like such a infant rookie.
The Miami Heat were one of the weakest superteams ever constructed in NBA history.
The Lakers had Kobe and Shaq and were a superteam:
1) The 2003-04 Lakers, which already featured O'Neal and Bryant and signed Gary Payton and Karl Malone, were a superteam by definition.
And so was the 2012-2013 Los Angeles Lakers with Bryant, Gasol, Howard, and Steve Nash.
And why don't you ever criticize the Bucks, the present superteams of the Celtics and Clippers?
No need to really respond to this. As long as we agree the Heat were a superteam the conversation is over
@@Mandownsports Of course it was a superteam, by definition, but you already know my opinions on EFFECTIVE vs INEFFECTIVE superteams or superteams on PAPER vs. Superteams' on-court production. I don't care about THEORY, only about what ACTUALLY happened -- reality.
@@ScottRachelson777 not sure what definition you use to define a super team but I'm sure it's different from mine
Kobe and Shaq was not a súper team when they won a three peat they were a duo with a bunch of role players Lakers in 04 when they got Payton and mail man there were past there prime The Heat were all in there prime
@@jjohnson4013 well said. Kobe and Shaq developed organically, went through rough times to get there, nothing easy.
Your criticism is too one-sided. Look at the video image: It features the Miami Heat with LeBron. Why not show other superteams that were much stronger than the Miami Heat?
Becuz the point I was making was for players that want to be compared to MJ and Kobe. They didn't get their rings with superteams
You obviously don't know the difference between "subjective" and "objective."
Let me rehash my distinction between these two terms in the context of your claim that "Kobe is better than LeBron":
Your claim is not entirely accurate and reflects a subjective opinion rather than an objective fact. Here's why:
Subjectivity: Comparing players in any sport involves subjective judgments based on personal criteria and preferences.
The point of the video has very little to do with Scottie Pippen. Stay on topic
Why y’all keeps repeating this cap? When did Pippen took the bulls to the conference finals?
@@gnnacharles1 lol thus just shows that people get their truths from ESPN analyst. Someone said they were one game away from the ECF then next someone said thet actually made the ECF and no one corrected them and it rolled downhill. Lol 🤣
Come on , it’s to easy to google the 1995 bulls, they weren’t the same team when Jordan retired, ever heard these names ? Kerr, Longley, Kukoc, wennington
@@Mandownsports thank you , pretty soon their lies will be the gospel truth.
